The Lokal was an awesome visit... Full bar, plenty of televisions, a wonderful menu that makes you feel like you're eating in Oklahoma! The bartenders were great. The white staff was friendly, and the ambience was cool with the giant OU logo in the center of the room above the bar. I'm excited for my next opportunity to visit this establishment. read more

My son and I were in Norman for a quick weekend visit and stopped at Lokal for dinner. We went about 7pm and assumed they were on a waiting list, so we got in line on their website before we got there (every place should do this IMO). We were greeted promptly and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Our server was very sweet and made some recommendations. We started with the Lokal Sampler appetizer, which was great. We both had burgers (Guacamole Bacon and BBQ Cheddar) and they were both awesome. Really cool place with a cool vibe. Highly recommend it. read more

I cannot believe this place isn't packed DAILY! I've been patronizing this chain in Yukon and Mustang for years and was SO excited to have one near work in Norman! The food is always superb, the staff are nothing short of amazing and the restaurant is beautiful! The food portions are always more than I can eat. The fried green tomatoes have a choke hold on me, they are beyond delicious. The chicken as well as the sweet potato fries never disappoint, and that chicken "strip" is GIANT. The fried deviled eggs do not come with bacon and Sriracha but it elevated this dish to epic levels, so please ask for it. Also, if you've never craved a salad, you should have the Lokal salad. Sublime, it's so fresh and the chicken is so flavorful. You have GOT to try this restaurant! read more

Nice casual atmosphere! There is a decent well lit bar. Our server was very very knowledgeable and suggested several different items from the menu. I had the bison meatloaf and mashed potatoes. It was very tasty! The bacon it was wrapped in added a nice smokey flavor. The mashed potatoes were lumpy style and very buttery! The baked mac and cheese was alright. While all good, there were some favorites... Drinks: Lokal Sangria was tasty and fruity... Bring me the whole pitcher! Fried deviled eggs. Crispy, fresh, and lots of flavor. Bison meatloaf. Delicious. Add a side of blueberry bbq sauce for zing. Pork chop, Very tender, juicy, and cooked just right. The bbq sauce compliments it perfectly. All in all a fun evening and we will be back for football season. They still have all the tv's from when it was a sports bar. They also have a full bar. Lots of beers and specialty drinks. Had the sampler platter as an appetizer, it was all very good, especially the pickle fries! The chicken fried steak was alright (the half order was more than enough) but the gravy was VERY salty, almost to the point of being inedible. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I ordered a simple club soda with cranberry juice and a lime--a common non-alcoholic option. To my surprise, several minutes later, the server returned and informed me that the restaurant was "not making mocktails right now" and that I'd need to order something else. When I asked what options were available for a designated driver, I was told they couldn't accommodate my request. This was frustrating, as non-alcoholic beverages are a staple for inclusivity, especially for those who don't drink or are driving. It felt like the restaurant didn't prioritize all guests equally. While my friends enjoyed their alcoholic drinks, I ended up with a plain glass of water, which wasn't what I had in mind for a night out. The service otherwise was attentive, but this interaction stood out as a significant misstep.
