Her decor, water fountain, and music combined with her peaceful demeanor made for a tranquil experience. It may be helpful to keep in mind that since it's in a plaza, you may hear some sounds from outside but this isn't anything against the business. I think the music & fountain were helpful in masking these sounds. I was able to choose which essential oils I wanted her to use & Celina also provided a recommendation on which would work well together. Celina allowed me to relax, only checking in periodically to ensure the pressure was good. I didn't feel the need to adjust the pressure as she seemed in tune to the different needs of my body during the massage. Personally, I also appreciated the way she subtly & respectfully incorporates her faith in her business. As I looked for massage places in the Woodland area, it was discouraging to find so many questionable places. I was very happy to find Emunah & highly recommend getting a massage here!

I was there in Oct. and she had a variety of lovely ceramic pumpkins with flameless tea light candles. You could just tell from the decoration that she really wants this place to be something special (and it is!). There's also huge water feature. Sort of like a waterfall along a flat surface. She made an appointment for me and even adjusted the timing of it the day-of. J Relaxing Massage was very flexible with scheduling, and they accept walk-ins. There were two employees that I noticed in the dimly lit interior, with its dark walls, trickling water sounds and spa music. There isn't any seating when you walk in, just two massage chairs, mini fridge with water bottles, and a front desk with a tray of candy. When I left, a customer was receiving a massage at the chairs, which made the location of the chairs feel kind of awkward. Hopefully the customer still felt relaxed despite listening to me pay for my massage. I was led to one of the back rooms, which had a massage table with linens and a basket for my personal items. The masseuse was an older lady, and she was very strong and capable. There wasn't much verbal guidance for what to do or what to expect, but she was kind. The splash of cold oil to the back was the most jarring moment of the experience. She used heated rocks and towels as part of the massage. It would have been nice to get a heads-up that heat was coming or an intense shoulder massage (she definitely emphasized the shoulders!), or whatever was next. She hardly said anything, which I can imagine most people would appreciate, so they can focus on relaxing. The full body massage included head, temples, neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands, and feet and legs. She also used warm stones and warm, wet washcloths. The linens were clean and fresh, the room was dim with ambient noise, and the hour flew by! There were some areas in the room that could use an upgrade, like where the walls met the ceiling (uneven connections) and the paint drops on the electrical socket. It felt clean overall, although a bit old. It was $55 for a 1 hour full body massage. There is $1 charge for credit cards. Parking is easy to find, as this place is located in a shopping plaza. I'd recommend this place for the price and the ease of scheduling, but if I was looking for a more pampering experience, I'd try elsewhere!

She did a good consult with me before, asked about any problem areas/what I wanted her to focus on most, and was so warm and welcoming! She had some beautiful aromatherapy going, and it was the most relaxing massage I think I've ever had! She worked on a big knot in my shoulder that I've had for years, but never made it feel too tough or painful. She just made me feel so comfortable and safe, which is a big deal since massages can be such an intimate and vulnerable experience. Upon relaying this to her today, I found out that each time I was rescheduling she was charging me a 50% cancellation fee (or at least I think that's what she held me to in the end). I was purchasing 5 hours at a time as I was going consistently and it saves you a few bucks per massage. Jackie keeps a written journal and I guess I just naively thought if she was going to charge me anything other than for services rendered that she would say something at that particular time, not wait until amicably parting ways and keeping hundreds of dollars & only refunding me $123 of my money. Its really disappointing because she really is talented and highly experienced, but this handling of us parting ways was handled very defensively and rather callously.
