Went on a Saturday night after walking out of a different Pho restaurant because a majority of the tables were unbussed which was a turn off for us. It wasn't quite the ambiance we were seeking for a Saturday night family dinner, but the food made up for it. We ordered edamame and gyoza appetizers, both of which were tasty, though the edamame could have used a bit more salt. For the main courses: The portions were large, so they are shareable, and the prices were reasonable. One daughter ordered pho w rice noodles and chicken. It was light, but nicely seasoned. The other daughter ordered the Tropical Dragon roll. It was large, fresh, unique and full of flavor. She loved it! Hubby and I ordered two dishes to share: Exotic Eggplant (added Pork), It was slightly spicy, but delicious. The only was that the eggplant skin was tough. Usually Asian eggplant skin (when cooked is soft and edible. This was tough and chewy, so we had to spit it out. Low Mein w Chicken-- also delicious and not greasy. First time coming here, and came for the reviews of their Pho, however this will be the last time. But first let me explain that the food I ordered was delicious. I ordered the fresh roll (which in other places its just a Thai spring roll) that came with its delicious peanut sauce. I also ordered the beef pho which I was delighted because it was very flavorful. My hubby, not being a soup fan ordered some gyoza and a California roll since he was not impressed with the inside or the outside of this place. The restaurant is located in an abandoned plaza, think only this place and the dollar tree are in operation. Well he was not impressed with his food either, he felt it lacked flavor, but this is Thai not Japanese so not surprised there. So what happened that won't have us going back?? We're new in town and trying to get around to getting to know the local restaurants. This place is a GEM! It's fairly small, only about 10 tables and all spaced out well for social distancing. The women who seated us, I presume may be the owner, is very sweet and attentive and knows her customers. Which, they definitely have people coming for food. Our food came out pretty fast! We started with spring rolls that were so fresh and served with a perfect peanut sauce. I had chicken pad Thai, asked for just a bit of spice and it was perfect! Perfect flavor, perfect portion! My husband had the beef pho, which he usually adds a few condiments to his broth when we go to other places but this time he didn't want to add anything to his broth, he loved the flavor! My boyfriend and I stopped here on a whim, we suddenly wanted pho and this was so close. It's in a shopping center but not a busy one so parking was so easy! There was only 1 girl working the front/waitressing and she did a great job multitasking. The menu is so extensive so I suggest trying everything you can, the food is amazing!! We got an order of tuna nigiri and crab ragoons as an appetizer and both were delicious! The ragoons were crispy and the sauce was so sweet. The nigiri was to die for, the tuna was just the right temperature and the rice was just sticky enough. I got the steak pho with extra noodles and it did not disappoint, I had to give some to my boyfriend to finish. The broth was so good and all the condiments are on the table. The broth wasn't heavy like some others are so when we were done it wasn't an uncomfortable kind of full. PHO NO !!!! I understand that many businesses are striving during COVID. I've been a big supporter for Asian restaurants based on my palette. I decided to try them for the first time to take out. Ordered pho and Tom Kha along with vegetable dumplings. The vegetable dumplings were over fried and hard. I brought them back for a new batch. The owner was giving me a hard time by refusing and due to the fact that there were people watching she took the food back and three minutes later- it was the same food. I realized that they dipped it hot water and it came out soggier. I told her that it wasn' accurate of them to do this and she started to touch the food I asked for cash back and tip too because she touched the food. She threw the cash at me in front of everyone. Also, at pickup, the older lady was very nice. I think the people who complain about rudeness don't take into consideration differences in culture, but even without that, I found her very pleasant. Food was FANTASTIC! It was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Serving size was generous and the takeout container was stuffed. Bun salads at a lot of other places are 90% noodles, here it was about 40% noodles and the rest crisp vegetables and meat which I really appreciated. A perfect balance of texture. They have new owners. There is no longer Pho on the menu at a place called pho now, they have a substitute called rare steak soup. The meat was old and very small portion, there was no limes, and the flavor is not the same as the old owners. The pad Thai was also not great.... the flavor was just not there. I had heard a lot recently from people about the rebranded Thai Pho Now, so my husband and I tried it on a Friday night around 5 p.m. There was a table of 3 there and a large table of Asians when we entered the small quaint restaurant. I figured it must be good and it was good sign to see so many Asians, because who knows their food and culture better than they do! This seems to be a "Mom & Pop" run by an elderly couple. He's the Chef and she's the waitress. I only eaten Vietnamese food once or twice some 20+ years ago, so I wasn't too familiar with their menu. My husband was at a loss as to what to order, so he left it in my hands. I asked the waitress to explain what a couple of dishes were and how they were presented and she abruptly and rudely told me that she would not explain and to order by number. She seem angry, frustrated, harried and impatient. Therefore, I quickly ordered from the Vietnamese side of the menu, a Spring Roll appetizer, two "Bun" dishes - one with shrimp and one with chicken. The Spring Roll was wrapped in a gelatinous wrapper (rice paper) filled with lettuce, cucumber, bamboo shoots, 2 shrimp and 2 flat pieces of pork served with peanut sauce. We ended up removing the wrapper and eating it like a salad. The peanut sauce was one of the best I've ever had. The "Bun" dishes arrived in deep square bowls. What surprised us the most was that half of the bowl was filled with the vermicelli noodles and meat on top and the other half was filled with another salad. They were very tasty. The only requests we had was extra napkins and lemons for our water and we ended up with limes. The Chef came out and stopped at both tables, but not ours. I imagine he overheard my husband say "She's got to go" in response to a non-response from her regarding the lemons. Because she ignored us, we didn't know IF she heard us when we asked for the lemon slices. Obviously, she did because we ended up with lime slices. All in all, the food was good and I will urge my husband to go again to try the Thai side of the menu that I think will be more to his liking, IF I can convince him to return. After we left the restaurant, he said he was not interested in returning, so between the rude service and the food presentation, I don't think he was sold. The only critiques, I have is they need a young Asian server who is friendly, nice and patient to explain to us whom have never eaten their cuisine how the dishes are prepared. At least when you go to a Chinese restaurant they have pictures of their dishes prepared, when you go to THAI PHO NOW, you are literally going in blind. Also, I would give the customers a large dinner plate with their order, so IF they want to separate out their cold salad from their hot entree, they have the ability to do so. That being said, I will try it again (on my own) for lunch and try the Thai menu this time. I'm willing to give them another chance. read more

I may be spoiled because I live by some of the best Vietnamese food in the Tampa Area. The banh mi had very little flavor.
