A cozy spot just of the main street. Everything we had was fantastic. My husband gobbled up the curry. I all but licked the plate of my ginger chicken. Our friends had sushi and raved about it. Not one of us left a crumb. The wine was good, as was the tea. Our only issues was the time it took the food to get to the table. It was about 40 minutes and several inquiries before meals arrived. My husband and I decided to try it for lunch as their lunch menu is so affordable with a nice selection of Thai, sushi & bento boxes. Service was good and so was the food! I had the Pad Thai Bento box and chose the salad & spring roll, my husband had the chicken drunken noodle with salad & spring roll. Salads were very fresh & the dressing tasty. Don found his dish a bit too mild but there was a trio of sauces he could choose from to heat up his dish. After adding a touch of hot chili oil, he was very satisfied. I had the bento box and boxed up the pad Thai for another meal at home as there was so much food in the bento. We started with yellowtail jalapeño which was tasty I missed the spice of the pepper since no seeds or rib just a thick ring, the beef tataki sauce was really good but the beef itself was cut a bit too thick & chewy. We also shared the spicy red dragon which sadly had no spice, the red dragon, the American dream that didn't have the conch topping and also cucumber wrapped rainbow roll. This place is huge. Friday night you might have to wait if you don't have a reservation, but it's one of the best Pad Thai dishes in the area. My friend had the Massaman curry with shrimp and said it was a little too sweet. Looking for a place to dine before a concert at the Sunrise Theater, we found the menu at Wasabi Thai Sushi extensive and interesting, and we had an enjoyable meal. There are two dining rooms (in adjoining storefronts) - one more resembles a pub - with dark booths and even a television above the bar. It was comfortable. The second dining room was lighter and had an inviting feel to it. The service was prompt and efficient - and our food was delivered promptly; quite impressive given the pre-theater diners. Our food was a bit of a mixed bag. Our Shrimp Shumai was just ok. The texture and consistency ok, but the flavor too intense. On the other hand, the Fried Chicken Gyoza were terrific. Light and crisp with just the right amount of stuffing. The ponzu sauce was quite nice. The Chicken Katsu was a bit tough. But it had a nice breading and was a generous portion. Our sushi was inconsistent. The Rainbow Roll had plenty of fish, but too much cream cheese. (We've never had cream cheese as an ingredient in a California Roll, which is the base of the Rainbow Roll.). On the other hand, the American Dream Roll was excellent - a nice fusion sushi roll. First time trying this place and it was very good. We were seated in a very private booth and received great service from our waiter. We ordered quite a few dishes and appetizers and everything was flavorful and prepared well. We ended the evening with the fried banana with ice cream and that was also amazing. At first sight when approaching the building you wonder what might be waiting for you inside. However once inside the establishment I was pleasantly surprised and really liked the ambiance. My family was seated in a cozy private room/booth. We started out with some green tea and a sushi roll which was good. That was pretty much as far as we got because our food never came out. We waited and waited on chicken wings. We have no idea what happened. We never got any explanation. My curry with brown rice also never arrived. We asked for the check and left to get some food across the street. Disappointed because I had every intention on becoming a regular customer since I love a good ambiance. What a gem! Great service at this restaurant. Everything we ordered was amazing - crab rangoon, shrimp and veggie tempura, wonton soup, miso soup, papaya salad with shrimp and panang curry. Just go. Do not miss this great spot. Wasabi is in downtown around many shoppes. You can dine in then take a stroll around the area. There's street parking and also a couple lots near the back. The service was great. Kim served us. No long waits. As soon as we entered, someone approached and asked whether we were picking up or dining in. I enjoyed the green dragon the most. Super yummy. We also had the Thai dumplings, volcano, and salmon crunch. I didn't really like the dumplings; the dough was too sticky for me. I did enjoy the vegetable mix inside of it though. Also, I had a drink that I could not finish; mojito. I must note that I'm a lightweight. So for you drinkers, they are not stingy on the alcohol. You'll enjoy. We tried this place after being ignored at a Thai Pepper, which is literally, right across the street. No sooner had we walked in, we were greeted and sat at one of the booths on the front of the restaurant. The menu has a large selection of classic Thai and Japanese plates and some specialty sushi rolls. We ordered our drinks which were promptly served and our food. Fresh, flavorful and served by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Masks are worn by staff and the booths are well spaced so you don't have to worry about social distancing: it is done automatically for you. We did notice a lot of take out traffic which speaks wonders about the food and a couple of reservations walked in. We were very pleased with our food: papaya salad, pork nam sod, chicken pad Thai and rainbow roll. Small bottle of cold Oka sake hit the spot. But our orders were sporadically brought to our table.The kitchen on this evening was unreasonably slooooooow! Our server was friendly but she was slammed but kept checking on us but still very slow output from the kitchen. Another couple in a booth across from us were seated and left 10 - 15 minutes later without anyone acknowledging them, no menus, nothing. They rightfully got up and left. And yet others came later and were served almost immediately. Server indicated the kitchen was backlogged with takeout orders, etc...... No excuse. Kitchen staff need to be much better prepared and organized. Will give this place another shot because the food was quite flavorful, properly prepared, generous portions and everything reasonably priced.
