My parents and I tried three dishes and although we liked them all, I liked my Drunkin Noodle the best. I ordered medium spice which was perfect for me. Such good flavor and lots of veggies (peppers, onions, and carrots). I would definitely order this again. Our service was great and the place was clean and well decorated. Food was ok, but not anything like any Thai I've ever had elsewhere all over the US and Europe. Everything had curry in it, and yes I know some Thai food has curry and I like curry, but not everything and not to the amount they used. DIshes that should have been sweet and moist were dry and bland with heavy curry flavors. Maybe there are some Thai staff in the back but I never saw any, just white people working out front. Still it was not bad, just not good or worth ordering again to me and certainly not worth the high prices. Our dinner for four with no drinks was over $150.00 But it only goes downhill from there. Their website is not up to date and the prices don't match what they are in the restaurant. And many items listed were not available. After I had placed my order in person and having waited about 30 minutes already one of the guys comes out and tells me they ran out of noodles! How does a Thai restaurant who just opened at 5 PM run out of noodles and not know it for 30 minutes which was only 5:30 at this point in my wait? Thats just really bad management and bad customer service training. They don't answer the phone to place an order until after 5PM so you can't place an order and expect to go get it in 30 min. SInce they would not pick up the phone I drove over to order. Then waited an hour for my food! Last, the staff were rude and dismissive. They first ignored me for a long time, then gave me a lot of negativity with rude comments when taking the order. I think I stood there all told for 15 minutes before I could get the attention of either staff member to take my order at the counter. The two people I saw came out several times, checked their cell phones, talked with some friends who were hanging out and not ordering, then eventually tore themselves away to come be rude to me and take my order. This spot is in a small strip mall in the heart of the booming Mason Montgomery area. If you did not know it was here you might miss it. The inside is cozy and nice. The waiter who greeted me was very helpful. I had placed my order ahead online for take out and it was ready at the time promised. There is plenty of parking in a large shared lot. For starters I was dying to try their seasonal sweet mango sushi roll. At the heart of mango season, this was super fresh and delicious. A must try! Next I got the Green papaya salad. The flavor was great with a nice spicy kick. I loved the crunchiness of the veggies combined with the lettuce. For my main course I got the chicken pad thai. This fell a little short for me. The flavor was kind of flat, not much there. For dessert I got the mango sticky rice which was great. All ingredients were fresh. Nicely executed salad but mediocre in the flavor department. I don't think there was any mint, fish sauce was under utilized and meat had its tough moments. Cilantro was well positioned for flavor. I ordered a #3 in spicey which I think was brought on by Italian pepper flakes. Better if cayenne was used or gochchannhg. The iceberg lettuce was crisp and fresh. Instead of shallots, red onions were used. There were some carrot slivers but hardly noticeable. I don't think I'd order this again. Service was excellent. read more

Food is delicious! Nate, their only server, is great! Everything else is bizarre! They are open until 8:30, but that is actually when they leave for the night. You have to arrive way before 8 PM to actually eat inside. The hostess speaks in a sing-song voice, but almost shouts at people when stressed about them entering near that 8 o'clock mark. Heaven forbid they are crowded between 7 and 8, because even with empty tables, it is an hour wait for food and then of course you must eat in your car. We assume there are only three people who work there and also assume there is no desire to grow. Just thought customers would prefer to know the rules before choosing to dine there. read more

If I were to rate Thai Spicy strictly on food, then three stars. Every item was decent -- albeit with a "but." For example, the pineapple fried rice was tasty, but the pork was dry. The pad thai was good, but too salty. The chicken satay was nicely flavored, but not hot enough. What really irked me, though, was the takeout process. Online ordering was a pain, requiring me to register with Cartana. Worse yet, I ordered at 7:45 and arrived at 8:25, after being given an 8:30 estimate. Well, at about 8:35, the worker told me that they couldn't make my sushi because they ran out of rice. Mind you, they could have told me this at any point prior to my arrival. Then, to top things off, I didn't get my food until 8:50. It seems they didn't bother starting to cook until after I'd arrived, raising the question: Why bother ordering ahead? Never again, Spicy Thai. Too many issues here, especially compared to other restaurants that execute better and don't waste their customers' time. read more

We have eaten at Thai Spicy in Mason, Ohio 4 times now, each one exemplary. It is close to a physician office we go to about once a month, and previously checked it out. Wanted something different than Pad Thai, and asked for a "thin, glass noodle dish." Friendly, positive waitress highly recommended the Pad Woon Sen. First, the Spring Rolls came and were absolutely delicious! Obviously home-made and fresh. I could have eaten a whole meal of them! The Pad Woon Sen was luscious, just the right amount of spices, and with "NO FISH SAUCE" as I had ordered. Many of the local Thai restaurants do not use fish sauce in their dishes as it is often not appreciated by American taste buds, but this "authentic" restaurant does use it, so if you don't want it, speak up. It had plenty of chicken in it, and other vegetables cooked without being too soft or mushy, just right. The "glass" thin noodles were sooo good! Flavorsome and delectable. When I entered the building, there were only 5 people (4 already eating, and 1 deciding on what she wanted). I didn't wait to be seated (it was going to be a carry out/take out order anyway) and strolled right up to the counter (it honestly looked like the ONLY logical place to make a to-go order). The hostess was friendly and informed me that the waitress would be with me shortly. As I scanned the extensive menu, I remembered "Pineapple Fried Rice" from the reviews earlier, so I ordered it with chicken & shrimp. I also ordered the crab rangoons and the mango sticky rice. I was told it would take like 15-20 minutes for my order to be ready, I acknowledged that it was fine. I was offered water or another beverage while i waited. The sentiment was nostaligic, but i declined nevertheless. Another customer who placed a "pick-up" order came to the same counter that i did (told y'all, I had a feeling I was right) and received her order. It smelled delicious, to say the least. I refrained from asking her what she ordered, didn't want to offend, or pry into the life of a stranger. My food arrived in less than the time i was originally told, very pleased with that. When I tell y'all everything was "On Point," that's an understatement. I am so happy I decided to go there! I can't speak on anyone else's experience, but mine was top-tier service! The food 10/10. The Mango Sticky Rice you keep hearing about, try it, you won't regret it! The food was excellent! Seriously, probably in the top 3 of the best Thai food Ive had. Our party ordered the crab rangoon, chicken larb, drunken noodles, panang curry, yellow curry, and Thai spicy. Everything was 5 star delicious except for the larb. The larb was just ok. To be fair, this is the first time we tried larb, so maybe we just don't have a taste for it. We all ordered our food with either the medium (2) or high (3) amount of heat but our dishes were not spicy at all. This was a little disappointing because I like my Thai food spicy, but the panang curry was so delicious that I didn't mind. What a hidden gem! Have already been twice in the span of five days. The staff is really genuine and nice. Seems to be family run which is right up our alley. They do a brisk takeout business and Fridays get so busy that many people left due in to the long wait time but go any other day of the week apparently and you should have no issue. As for the food, we have had the spring rolls, gyoza, pork larb, tom kha gai, wonton soup, shrimp pad thai, shrimp and chicken pad see ewe and the crunchy fancy roll. The soups blew us away!!! Best I have ever had of either. Quality and portion size of everything was fabulous (although if you don't like leftovers perhaps almost too big if you don't have a big appetite). I was skeptical about the sushi but it was the best roll we have had in the area (out of three restaurants we have tried). Not a fancy place but if you like good food this is it. read more

This is my far my most favorite Thai restaurant since I move here in USA, I have try many locations in many state but this is really kill it. Every dishes we order are delicious, it make me feel like we have real foods from back home in Asia. My pad see ew meal was probably the best version of this entree that I have ever had. Was seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of savory sauce, comfort food wide noodles, and tender-crisp vegetables. The green tea was excellent. Everyone raved about their meals. Our service was maybe a tad bit slow, as there was only one server handling both phone and all of the tables, but she was very pleasant and we were taken care of adequately. The crispy Pad Thai with extra pork was a very generous serving and I will order it again. Spice level is always a gamble at a new-to-me. Thai Spicy's "medium" is not much heat. Waiter forgot silverware/chopsticks (minus 1-star). Sigh. Also; he never wore his mask; rather, it dangled off his right ear the entire time I was waiting for my take-out order. Somehow I had never eaten here, but learned about it from some buzz on Chowdown Cincinnati. I was impressed. Had a green papaya salad which was probably the best one I've ever had. Also chicken larb and a Fresh Ginger stir fry dish with chicken and brown rice. Everything was a heat level of 2 (out of 4) which was perfect for me. A lot of food, and had to take some home.
