Finally, today was the day and I sure wish I would have tried this place sooner. Since moving to Texas from Southern Cal, I haven't found many places that have what I would call authentic tacos. I keep trying hoping to find that place and I just might have. They are located in a small food truck court off 71. Easy parking and they have plenty of outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your tacos fresh. I only ordered "street tacos" with Adobada; I didn't have to wait long and I did take them to-go since I don't live very far. When I got home, they were still fresh and warm. They were prepared in fresh corn tortillas (they do also offer flour) and there is quite a bit of meat. They came with lime wedges and some red & green sauce. Given my experience with other taco locations, I wasn't expecting much. But my first bite... I was surprised at how delicious they are. Most places I have been to, the meat tastes as though it has been warming in a metal bin for awhile and lacks freshness. But this meat was very fresh and delicious. Squeeze a little lime and add some of the green sauce and these tacos are epic! I ordered three and thought for sure I would end up throwing one or two of them out. But after eating two of them, I saved the third for my daughter but was tempted to eat it too. If the tacos are this good... I am sure the rest of the food must be great. I have had tacos from a few places in downtown Austin that are good, but it's a far drive to get them regularly. It's nice to know the best tacos I have tried since coming to Texas is quite close to me. And between the tacos I have had in Austin and Ortega's, I would choose Ortega's any day. Although they provided red sauce, if you like really spicy... use the green sauce. Like finding good tacos, it has been difficult to find good spicy taco sauce but their green sauce is going to make you sweat a little. Although I waited years to try, I'm glad I finally tried Ortega's and I will be back soon.

I would have to say that if anyone happens to be here and they are wanting some great brisket, ribs, etc., come here!! Tonight my husband and I walked in and we were the only customers there, no one dining in, no one waiting in line, no one checking out, no one in the drive through. There were 3 employees there. I asked 2 of the employees what meats were still available and they told me I needed to wait on the meat cutter employee to get an answer to that question as well as to be served. We waited a few minutes and the meat cutter employee came out with a large tray of chicken and asked for us to wait a few minutes so he could "finish cutting this order." I thought this was a bit rude as this was obviously a pre ordered order, the person who ordered it was not present, and it would have taken the cutter only a few minutes to serve us, but we decided to wait for him to cut the large tray of chicken. After he was done cutting it, he handed it off to another employee and left without addressing us. He then came back with another large tray to work on cutting for the same order. We felt invisible and insulted by being asked to wait on the completion of a large order for an absent customer, so we left. My husband called and complained and got placations from a different employee. The cutter then called to justify his side of the story, called us "entitled, impatient and unreasonable" for leaving and tried to say that his other order, for an absent customer, could not wait for the few minutes it would take to speak with, much less serve customers who were present. This cutter seems to have forgotten that paying customers expect timely and polite service in exchange for the price they pay for their meal. Frankly, I think this employee was acting entitled by 1. having waiting customers watch him continue working on someone else's order for quite a while without so much as a word, 2. being surprised when they left, and 3. having the audacity to call those customers "entitled" for not wanting to waste their own time waiting on him to complete an enormous absentee order before eating their own meals. I have scarcely felt so insulted by a dining establishment. Apparently it's all good at It's All Good except for the service. We will not be returning.

We tried the migas and potato egg and cheese - perfect for a breakfast taco fix. Unlike many places where tacos skimp on filling, these were generously stuffed--I only needed two instead of my usual three. Plus, they weren't greasy at all, which was a big win. I moved here from Southern CA a few years ago and can't say enough great things about TX... but we…read morearen't huge fans of "TEX MEX". I have tried dozens of places in Austin for tacos and just can't seem to find anything close to the tacos I enjoyed when I lived in San Diego. Living in San Diego, I spent a lot of time in Mexico and I would definitely say they make tacos a particular way. And it was easy to find places in Southern CA that served what I refer to as "authentic" Mexican tacos. When I came to TX, I had heard all about TEX MEX and the "tacos" and was really surprised at the difference between the tacos here and the ones from Mexico/SoCal. But, I'm resilient as a "foodie". I will keep trying until I find that one place and yesterday... I finally found what I would say are the MOST authentic Mexican tacos. I happened to find out about this place on a Facebook post and drove out. It's not a place I would have driven by and even if I did, I might not have stopped. But again, I am determined to find someone who can make tacos like I'm accustomed to eating. It's a little trailer located right on the road and they have a big "TACO" sign on the road so you shouldn't miss it. If not the sign, you will probably see a crowd of people enjoying tacos or waiting for their order. I started off ordering what I would consider the 'basics' - a Carne Asada taco and an al Pastor taco. For me, if these are good, the rest of the food is likely to also be good. For starters, they prepare it when you order it! This is a great sign. So many taco places I have been to, they have the meat all ready and just scoop it into a taco shell. Taco meat should be made to order and not premade so already, you know this is a quality taco shop. You can get corn or flour tortillas but I strongly recommend the corn for a taco. They serve them the traditional way with two tortillas and the tacos come with a generous serving of meat. And talk about hot and fresh! I've also found here in Austin, it's been difficult to find legitimate salsa. I had the green sauce and without question, the BEST salsa I have had since moving to Texas. They really should be selling their salsa! My first round of tacos was so amazing... I ordered more! I ordered more of the carne asada and al pastor to take home to the family and even ordered some bean & cheese burritos. Oddly enough, a bean & cheese burrito is such a staple of just about any Mexican restaurant in SoCal but try and get one here in Texas and it's almost impossible. It was refreshing to find a place that makes a bean & cheese burrito and make them authentically; in a large flour tortilla. If your only experience with Mexican food is "Tex Mex", do yourself a favor and make the trip out and experience some authentic tacos. If you have moved here from SoCal and are missing tacos from home... you'll want to make the drive out here for these tacos! And if you like spicy, you must try the green salsa. By the way, to save time, they do take phone orders so you can always just place your order on your way over and they will have them ready when you arrive. They are very nice people and the food is amazing!

Wow! Stopped by after a long appointment keeping us from lunch until about 2:20 pm. Saw the reviews…read moreand figured we'd try it out and grab a quick bite to eat on the way home. TTG is a food truck right next to Pig Pen BBQ's parking lot. It's under a tree and it's got a picnic table under the tree and today there was a really nice, strong breeze to deal with the 90+ heat. There's also a bench in front of the menu on the exterior of the truck so you can have a seat while you wait for your food. I ordered the panang curry & my son ordered lo mein. He wanted pork but she didn't have any today, so we both ordered chicken as our protein. She told us it would be 10-12 minutes, so we sat down at the picnic table and waited. I don't believe it was even 10 minutes. The food was given to us in a bag as to take the food home. We decided to go ahead and eat there despite the strong breeze. The food was all piping hot and super fresh. Veggies were still crunchy and not soggy. Once the owner noticed we were sitting at the picnic table, she must've noticed I was trying to eat the curry after taking bites of rice and she asked if I needed a bowl and she quickly got me a paper bowl which made it much easier to devour the curry. It was delicious!! This is definitely better than most Thai places we've tried and much more reasonable. The portions were very healthy and the sauce to noodle ratio on the lo mein was nicely balanced. The chicken was fresh as were all the veggies. I forgot to ask the owner's name. She was super friendly I told her I had seen reviews on Yelp and wanted to try the food. She was surprised and told me she hadn't checked Yelp in a while and was checking Google more often. Hope this place stays here for a while!! We live in NB where there isn't much variety or much in the way of foodie places ~ which we're hoping is going to change ~ so for true foodie experiences, we head to San Antonio, Austin, or San Marcos. It's definitely going to be popular with us and there are plenty more menu items I'm going to have to try.
