I was so nervous coming in because my hair is wavy and not necessarily curly, but she was able to work with my hair and provide it so much more shape! She also took me step by step on how I would achieve this at home, which was really easy for me to understand! The service price point makes complete sense due to how much education they provide you, so if you have textured hair it's definitely important that you try this place out! They also have specialty products that are not only amazing at making my hair look ESPECIALLY healthy after the first time using them, but they are SUPER AFFORDABLE. I mean, a whole hair routine for about $100? Each shampoo, conditioner, curl gel and curl cream roughly about $25/30 and you get a nice amount of it!!! I went back a second time, as I am very happy with my stylist Audie. If for only her, I would give 5 stars, but I need to rate the salon in its entirety. At my first visit, I purchased 4 products, and I had issues with the pump on 1 of the products almost immediately. Audie had to give me some suggestions, as these pumps are known at times to have problems, I was told. After going home and trying out the suggestions, my pump still did not work with over 3/4 of the product in the bottle. I reached out to the salon in the middle of January 2025. No one answered, so I left a message. Time went by, and I did not get a call back, so I tried again. Again, no one answered, so I left a voice message. Sadly this was during the horrific Los Angeles fires, so I figured to give it some more time. Also thought maybe best to also reach out to the manufacturer of the product, and when I did, they told me that I would have to contact the salon where I purchased said product. We are almost in the middle of March now, and I have left a multitude of voicemails for the salon, and I even contacted them to cancel an appointment that I have coming up in April, as my alopecia sadly has returned. Two months of calling and leaving voicemails, and I still haven't heard anything from the salon. Thankfully, Audie is an angel, and so I reached out to her directly. She communicated my concerns with the salon, and was surprised to hear that I still had/have not received a call back. Thankfully, she was able to cancel out my appointment, but I am stuck with this bottle that doesn't work, and with product that I paid for. Imagine I didn't have a direct way to reach my stylist? I would be charged a cancellation fee, when I had no way to cancel my appointment. I mean, I have no way of doing anything, because nobody will take my calls or call me back! Super disappointed, because this salon is amazing, and customer service shouldn't be lacking to this extent, or should I say nonexistent. Even after Audie assured me that she brought this to the attention of the owners, I've still not heard back. I would really like to be able to use the rest of the product in this bottle, and if my alopecia goes into remission, I definitely want to see Audie again. I'm hopeful that ownership sees this and can reach out to me to rectify. I would definitely be willing to update my review, as this is sadly how I feel right now ....perhaps there is a misunderstanding?!? Always optimistic, and hopeful UPDATE: 19 days since this 2nd review, still no phone call, still no response AT ALL, not even here on yelp, not even after I extended the olive branch directly above in the end of this review. My 2nd review!! I had a recent haircut from Berri & it's fantastic and looks good every day, even 5 days after a wash. My best friend told me this is the BEST haircut she's ever seen me have. I went a bit shorter in my front curls and the way they've popped and curled lookalike the old Vidal Sassoon commercials of perfect ringlets. Thank you Berri!! Update: Danny commented that I verbally abused the receptionist. Danny clearly does not understand the definition of verbal abuse. If I am going to be charged $150+ for an important medical appointment that my kid needs and they can't work with me because their ego gets in the way that a frantic single mom is going to lose out on a lot of money then that's their business model they want to get behind then sad for them. Not only could that money gone to a hair appointment but it could feed my family for a week. I was already having mom guilt for indulging in such services. Danny is so vengeful that he sure charged me right away! Also, The receptionist not once told me she would ask to have someone follow up with me and only reiterated policy which is fine- it's her job. Perhaps the receptionist needs better training on how to navigate concerned customers who are going to lose out on $150+ it may not be a lot of money to some but for me and my kids it goes a long way and now I had to pay out because Danny did not have an patience or tolerance for a concerned mom losing out on money. Danny wanted to be in control and not hear my concerns. Correction: I have only been there 1 time physically. Looks like you don't know how to properly check your records. You told me to be quiet rather than hearing my concern out. You cannot even take accountability for that belittling demeanor you displayed. That's sad. Some men think they can talk to women however they see fit. I will never recommend this place again due to management's poor customer service. In the end we both lose but I stand by my story and I will not be disrespectful by a business owner in the community there are so many other businesses out there that can do a better job. This was my previous post below: Poor customer service. They want an exact 48 hours to cancel but do not consider real life comes up. My daughter had been sick with croup cough and it hurts her little chest and due to a doctor appointment during this time and me trying to be a single mom and juggle it all I could not do it within the exact 48 hours. They will happily charge me my hard earned money- half of my appointment so well over $100. This place is shady and all about money and not considerate of people real life issues. I will never recommend this place again. Never. Shady So now one of the male owners calls me trying to make things right and as he talks over me while I'm trying to explain I ask him to let me speak and lower his voice. He raises his voice over mine and tells me to stop asking but he is going to help me. My dignity does not have a price tag. I don't care if you are an owner or a homeless person on the street don't dangle money in front of me and expect me to bow down to you. Do what you got to do for your business and I do what I got to do for my self respect. I will not be talked down to you and told to be quiet because I had a complaint. You run a business you get complaints. I signed an agreement I get a consequence. Too bad we could not resolve this matter as I would have loved to give them a chance. read more

Life changing! I am nearing 50 and have spent most of my life combating the natural texture of my hair. I spent years getting Keratin treatments that would burn my scalp so I could have a few months of silky straight hair only to use a curling iron to give it some movement. Analisa (IG & TikTok: @curlsbyanalisa) was an absolute kind and genuine soul. She spent time listening to me describe my current hair routine and what I hoped to accomplish with this cut and style. She checked in throughout the cut regarding my comfort with the length and feel. She absolutely knocked it out of the park in terms of teaching me step by step to style it on my own. This former educator loved her checking for understanding I left with hair that felt soft and light, not crunchy and overpowered by product. The style looked great without adding any product for three days. I added a little diluted leave-in conditioner on day 4 to combat some of my frizz. I am getting back so much time now from my new morning routine. Even better, I followed her instructions today to wash my hair and style on my own for the first time and it came out just as great (not a normal occurrence for me). I received a haircut from Berri last week and I hate to say it because she seems like a lovely person, but it's an absolute disaster. Worst haircut of my life (well, adult life-- there was a drunk guy with scissors in a club in Berlin when I was 18. That *might* have looked worse, but not by much). I wouldn't be posting this publicly but I emailed the salon with my concerns and no response after a week, so here I am. I suppose it's also good to warn folks that if you choose to go to this salon you have to be VERY, VERY specific about what you want, and vigilant during the cut. I had mid-back length curly hair that was finally filling out after a full year of extreme postpartum shedding. I was happy with how it was looking and asked for some subtle shaping and face framing. I showed a picture of what I wanted, which was long, slightly layered, and kind of wild. I very specifically said that too much layering often makes the ends look thin and see-through, which I absolutely hate. I wanted volume and fullness. I did not want to lose much length, and we agreed on cutting one to two inches. I walked out with what is essentially a choppy, unevenly layered bob that sits above my shoulders, with long, scraggly pieces that stick out under it by a good five inches. Literally, unless all my hair is pulled forward over my shoulders, it looks like a bob from the front. And not a nice one. There are areas where 6-7 inches of hair were removed. I absolutely did not and would not have agreed to that had Berri checked in with me during the cut. It's also just a badly executed cut-- the layers are REALLY disconnected and kind of blunt. It's a weird diamond shape-- triangular from the head to shoulders, and then another upside down triangle to the ends. There are pieces in the back that are shorter than the ones around my face. I look like topiary that's been neglected for a few months. The worst part is that my hair used to look fine when I got out of bed, and now, because of these stupid short pieces, it sticks out everywhere and looks really thin and sad. It's awful. I don't get it. Why would anyone do that to nice curls?? I was so shocked when I saw the final result that I couldn't really say anything, so I paid my $300 plus tip (omfg) and went and cried in my car. Then I put my hair in a ponytail and left it there for a week because I was too scared to look at it (also I have a toddler). Yesterday I finally washed and styled it, hoping that it might look better than I remembered... nope. Even my very kind and understated partner, after a few attempts at "it looks fine!", admitted, after a cocktail, that "there were odd choices made." So anyway, it's just hair, it'll look nice again in a year. I'll probably cut off these Joe Exotic ends (if only it were a vibey kind of mullet rather than a middle-aged hedge) and just let the bob be a bob. Caveat emptor. read more

Found them on Tiktok, had a trip booked, and decided to give them a try. The main owner was already booked and cost $400. I debated on being on a waitlist to have him cut my hair and ultimately decided against it. The stylist I chose posted a few videos working with wavy hair, that is my hair type, and her prices were half, so I decided to book an appointment with her. The Salon It's three floors and much smaller than you would think. Beautiful white decor, clean, and lots of mirrors everywhere! As you walk in you check in with the front desk and she walks you to a chair. After a few moments, your stylist appears and ask a few questions about your goals, product usage, and best practice. The Cut I've had a few curly cuts in the past and the one constant is it's cut dry. The biggest difference at this salon is the quality of the cut. My hair was flipped all directions during the cut and by the time she was done, I loved the way my hair was cut. That was never the case before usually after the cut and style I loved the look. The level of talent at this salon at every stage is incredible. I am comfortable and love short hair so I was okay with cutting length to achieve healthy hair. This is something they often ask when cutting. The price It's expensive and given the location and type of cut, it is not unreasonable. I have paid similar amounts at other salons. Overall experience I really enjoyed learning how to work with my curls. I have been practicing on my own and have seen some improvement. Everyone was kind and patient. I didn't feel sold or pressured to buy any products. Comment on other bad reviews They are not wrong and their perspective is understandable. If you watch the tiktok videos this salon makes all of their clients leave with significantly shorter hair even with the goal of growing out there and wanting to keep length.
