We stopped by to see what Lunar New Year foods were in the store. I was looking to buy Chinese Black Vinegar but they didn't have the brand I was looking for. I also was looking for Three Crabs Fish Sauce. They didn't have it on the shelves with lots of varieties of fish sauce. When I asked if they carry it, I found out it is kept up front near the cash register. I also purchased egg roll wrappers and Japanese sweet potatoes. I looked at the whole bitter melon and wanted to buy it but it was not fresh. There was sliced bitter melon where when buying one cannot see the sides of the bitter melon and I didn't buy it. I don't like slimy. This store sells a variety of Asian foods, mostly Vietnamese. There are lots of selections of jarred and canned sauces. You should stop by to peruse the groceries they have. I saw fresh fish, fresh shrimp and fresh crabs too! read more

They have a lot of necessities for the Asian/Pacific Islander communities you can't find at a regular store. The only reason why I'm giving it 4stars is because every aisle I went through had stacked boxes all over the place making it difficult to maneuver through it. Some aisles were so close that the shopping cart couldn't fit to turn into the next aisle. But I did find everything I was looking for. The kimchi was very good. I got the smaller one because for the larger kimchi it was $59.99 and that is super pricey. Service was decent they had 2 registers open. read more

Just make sure to check your receipt before leaving the place, found out the lady cashier put 2 items that I didnt buy, I know it because one of them is seaweed and I hate seaweed, noone in my household eat seaweed so I will never buy and never buy anything with seaweed in it, the other item is bun tau and I have no idea what it was. And she charged me $5 extra for that 2 items I didnt buy. Make sure you check your receipt before you left. read more

I discovered this market recently after having lunch at a nearby Thai restaurant. First impressions: it's way bigger inside than it looks from the outside. Besides having everything I was looking for that you usually can't find at regular supermarkets at the top of each Aisle were signs with the items listed on that aisle. The produce section has many of the types of vegetables that find themselves in various asian cuisines. Fresh (and frozen) seafood was good to see. Just about every imaginable variety of rice in huge quantities can be found there. There's Cooking equipment, every type of tea, seaweed, and noodles. Not to mention sauces and vinegars. For cooks like me ( Chefs have to do paperwork!!! LOL) Thanh Hung Asian Market is a gem of a find, and clearly one of the better ones I've been to in the States! read more

If you're looking for anything Asian, this is place to go. From utensils to food products I think you would be hard pressed to find any place better equipped or stocked. Warning though, the smells will over power you as soon as you walk in. However in it's own subtle way it makes you feel good. Facilities are clean and the overall appearance of the store is good. Quite the selection of asian food here! Found what I needed to make Cassava Cake for Chinese New Years this wknd but not in the preferred Philippine brands (ie Pamana or Anahaw). Nevertheless, I picked up an equivalent in an off-brand but we'll see if it matches up once cooked. Sauces galore to choose from in one long isle. ;) The staff was accommodating when I couldn't find an item so I really appreciate that extra step. Also, to my delight when checking out, the cashier gal added a big fresh grapefruit to one of my bags as a Happy New Years gift/treat. That was so nice of her. Although they don't carry the Filipino brands of some frozen items (Sio Pao, Longanisa, Grated Cassava, Young Coconut, etc.), I will still shop here at least until a Filipino market opens up nearby. ;) read more

I've been to Asian markets in Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, DC, and Maryland. Yes, there are larger stores like H Mart, but Thanh Hung has a good selection and looks like it's a local, small business. I was especially impressed by the large selection of fresh produce and the great variety of treats, such as different flavors of Pocky and candies. I love the selection and variety and was able to make my usual Asian meals. I will definitely be back.. thank you. read more

This store might appear as an ordinary-looking Asian store hiding in a rundown plaza. But on Wednesdays after 4PM, believe or not, this is the IT place to be, if you want fresh Asian food. They get new inventories from Atlanta every Wednesday, including various vegetables, roast duck, pork roast, some dim-sum items, and above all, my favorite item here--- the vietnamese subs. The subs are around $3, appx 6", I personally think it's a superb value. They came in 2 flavors (I think). I like the asian BBQ pork (or, Cha-Shao) sub, which has the pork, pickled cabbage, jalapeno, and cilantro. It's sweet, salty, flavorful yet kind of mild with some kick from the jalapeno, all at the same time. It's difficult to describe this mixed combination of simplicity & complexity, but it is definitely growing on me. The 2nd flavor....well, I have tried it, I still am clueless what's inside, but I don't quite like it. I think the most challenging thing for me is to tell which sub is which, since they are all wrapped with white parchment paper. Well, sometimes the pork ones are marked with "P" on the paper. Sometimes with "X". Sometimes they label it on the box. Sometimes I just have to try my luck. Sometimes I purchased one of each, and give the non-pork one to a designated non-picky-eater. (If anyone has any tips, please share!) Another challenge in this store is, believe or not, to pay. They only have 2 cash registers, but the typical Wednesday shoppers have cartful of items. It generally took me 3 minutes to shop in the store, and waited in the check-out line for 10 minutes. read more

Normally we only really go to Korean or Chinese markets, but this mostly Vietnamese market near Saigon restaurant has amazing fresh vegetables, especially hard-to-find Asian veggies. The pomelo and Asian pears hear are especially good, as is the "Japanese eggplant" (since this seems to be the common word for it). The few bread goods I've had have been good, including the bean paste buns. This is a great place to go for Asian cooking sauces and fresh veg! read more

Too many cans stuff were expired. They used a new expire date to re tag it . It's so horrible! Last time I wanted to bought a curry paste, I found out the expire date in 2016, but they tag the new expire date in 2018 . So need be careful and check out the cans when you want to buy. Vegetable and fish are still fresh ! read more

It's a Wednesday ritual now, that I visit this store for fresh veggies and seafood. They have wide variety of Asian fruits and veggies which otherwise are hard to find anywhere here in Huntsville. Fresh seafood is something which makes me a loyal visitor. I expect more variety in fresh seafood though. read more

It has a lot of the foods I need to make Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and even Mexican food!It is easily the best asian supermarket in Huntsville and the prices are very good and reasonable. If you go on delivery day (Thursday I think) you will find fresh, live seafood for a fraction of regular prices elsewhere! Plus specialty dishes like BBQ Pork (Asian style) and Duck. The best Asian grocery store in Madison and Huntsville. It has the largest variety of food. They even have some items from Singapore! Wednesday evening is the best time to visit the store; fresh produce comes in earlier in the day. I've noticed that they have items that are past the sell-by/expiration dates. I've purchased one before. So now I always check the date, just in case. read more
