This place is one of the best pubs around. My sister, nephew and their large dog (a boxer) came for a late lunch on a Sunday. The staff were so attentive and we sat outside (in the coveted are) and it was all around awesome. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful - they even offered to feed the pup and gave him a water bowl (how sweet is that)?! The Irish gentleman who gave us menu suggestions was super helpful. I only saw the inside of the bar when I went to use the bathroom but it's just beyond words adorable. I have now gone to Thatcher McGhee's a few times for company lunches. We typically go here because it is a central location for our team, and they can accommodate a large group. There are typically 15 of us. The parking lot is rather large with plenty of parking. There is an outdoor bar area in addition to the inside area. Inside there is a bar area with dart boards and plenty of Tv's, and a dining room area. The service is always great and there have never been any issues. To me, the food is just okay. It probably isn't something I would go out of my way to have on my own time. I've have tried a few different menu items, and so far all of them have just been okay. The best items I've had so far are some of the appetizers, like the pretzels and mozzarella sticks. read more

Always a great time when we come here whether for a drink or food. Usually we are able to be seated on the restaurant side on the crazier nights when the bar is crowded. Service is always fantastic every time I've been here. Our server this evening Diana was beyond attentive always making sure our glasses were full, food was to our liking, and getting us our check and to go containers. It can give a bit of a dive bar vibe at times but it'll never disappoint you. Parking is often a bit chaotic now as there is a new outdoor tent built that removed some parking spots. This was my first visit to a Thatchers McGhee's. It was a Saturday at 2pm. I took a seat at the bar. Thanks to a gift card won at a raffle at a 5K race, my meal was practically paid for. I ordered the Jameson Drunken Chicken entree, Chocolate Lava Cake and Thatcher's Irish Red Ale. I never drink alcohol but I wanted to use up the balance on my gift card. I enjoyed my meal while listening to Neil Young and then the switch to France vs. England audio in the World Cup on television. We have probably driven by the place 100 times and finally decided to give it a try. We were very impressed. First it was very crowded but we found a table at the bar. Large bar business and an extensive selection of tap beers. All reasonably priced. For dinner we ordered the Irish potato skins as an appetizer. These were very good. They were firm and well covered with toppings. Then we both ordered burgers. My wife had the patty melt and I had the Irish Cheddar burger. We both ordered them medium rare and they came out medium rare. Both burgers were very good and the Irish Cheddar burger came with a bun that was a perfect size for the burger.
