Arugula salad

The placed was crowded but not too loud either. I saw all walks to life- families, couples, friends catching up, girls/guys night out, and so forth. The vibe was positive and they also played music. Our server was nice. She made us feel like we were her only customer. It was our first time, so she was also patient with us deciding on what to eat. Our food came out on time. Great portion, great quality and worth the price. Overall, I really enjoyed the positive energy.

Garlic Shrimp

Oven roasted shrimp, lemon, garlic butter, crostini

The shrimp appetizer was spot-on, loaded with the extra garlic we requested. The crustini paired perfectly with the garlic butter. The chicken sandwich was crisp and flavorful, with fresh vegetables and just enough salty bacon to round it out. The flatbread was crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and ideal for soaking up leftover garlic butter from the shrimp. The eggplant was thin and crispy, balancing beautifully with the creamy ricotta and fresh tomatoes. Our server, Liam, was welcoming, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations--overall delivering outstanding service.

Nice patio area with sun shade and grass area with umbrellas. We had the truffle fries and prosciutto arugula pizza both were good. Service was nice as well.

5 stars for ambience, vibe...great bar with neighborhood feel, slightly upscale. Service is very good. Food good as long as you're not vegetarian. 2 1/2 stars from me for the menu. Besides a few modified salads and the token veggie burger, there's not much exciting to eat. I've been a vegetarian since 1973, love to dine out but sometimes feel like screaming if I have to eat one more salad or test out the usually not-so-great veggie burger. There are so many options on the menu where you choose which protein you want to add---shrimp, chicken, beef. Why not add tofu or gardein products as veggie protein options? How about beans as an option for the tacos? It's cheap and easy and I think restaurants might be surprised to find how many patrons would choose plant-based options.

The service was very quick and the food was good! The cocktails are exceptional. Servings were portioned perfectly with their price. Pleasant ambiance for a casual dinner out! Salad was supposed to have grilled chicken but was forgotten. It was brought out immediately once it was mentioned.

Three rice bowls; chicken, shrimp and yea another chicken. A salad was the fourth entree and nachos for an appy, not to mention a number of cold "drinks." Service was pretty good. When it started to rain, there were weather flaps that came down and that was welcome. All in all. Good.

Big chicken nugget sandwich

What they tried to pass off as a crispy chicken sandwich was a huge disappointing chicken nugget. They compensated the sandwich and dessert because it's a known issue.

EGGPLANT PARMESAN FLATBREAD crispy eggplant, tomato sauce, ricotta, mozzarella and delicious!

Food was delicious. Very nice service. Pretzels are so good. Pizzza was very tasty. Whiskey was strong and steak was juice.

Great food, good service but can get a bit too noisy at times. Great for lunch too and better than most pizza places around.

We got the Cherry bomb burger and meat lovers pizza for main course and I gotta say that burger is awesome with the caramelized onions and a must try , the pizza was decent bar quality and nothing to bitch about . Minus the empanadas I would order everything again here so I don't know why the poor ratings , are people looking for Michelin star food everytime they go out ? Loll . 3.5 stars. Maybe experience…read more Came here last night with friends. Got some apps, tacos, sandwiches. Sat by the bar at high top tables. Service was very friendly and attentive. Nice staff. But maybe inaccurate on the food side. (More later) The sports bar theme is evident. It could use a few more tv's in the bar. Pricing overall reasonable for what it is. Drinks... we kept it basic with beer and wine. I saw some interesting cocktails getting made. Draft beer menu was a little small. But okay variety of drafts. Nice to see some regional brews on tap. One oddity was the bottom of the draft beer menu offering a "new" beer from Ithaca brewing. So I ordered it and they brought me a bottle. No warning or "hey it's not on tap ,you sure you want it?". Not a big deal just a little odd, to put it on draft menu. Food is where it got a little questionable. We ordered wings and pigs in blankets for apps. Discussed with bartender which wing sauce, how many. When you order wings and don't specify, you assume on the bone. But these came out boneless. The menu has each and we weren't asked to confirm either. The bill was for boneless too so it's not like the kitchen called an audible. A little disappointing. Good little piggies though, looked and tasted homemade. With two sauces it's a nice random app to offer. For the mains we got grilled chicken sandwich, shrimp tacos and sliders. Tacos tasty but lukewarm at best. Sliders were charbroiled, more hockey puck than burger. Chicken was fine. But again where it got strange was chicken sandwich came out with onion rings. It's supposed to be with fries (like the sliders) with onion rings an up charge. But no offer / acceptance, no up charge, just onion rings instead of fries. Like on this one the kitchen went rogue. Anyway, I will come back in the future. Not in a rush to do so but I want to give it another shot. It wasn't a bad experience. The food was mostly good. Ambience fine. Drinks okay. I need to return at minimum to learn why its name is more strip club than sports bar.

We had a cocktail party for about 35 people at high tops and it was excellent (plenty of room for dancing, etc) The food was delicious, prices are very reasonable and the staff were great! I highly recommend having any kind of party there! I can't say enough about Erin who was the event manager. She worked with me for months making sure that everything is going to be perfect. I'm sure I was driving her crazy at several points but her patience was exceptional and her management & organization skills are incredible! She also is a tech wiz (at least compared to me) and helped me set up a playlist for the party on a Bluetooth system and a video loop of photos of my husband to play on the TVs. She was there the whole night along with a bartender and runner and everything was as smooth as can be. I was totally relaxed knowing that she was taking care of all the details! Thank you so much, Erin! The party would not have been a terrific success without you! Definitely check out River for your next party!

This was easily the best meal we've had in New Jersey during the past month…read more It was a rainy day in Wayne and we started late, so we decided to stop by Pompton Queen Diner. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality stood out. We were the only Asian group in the restaurant, and the host/manager made us feel genuinely welcome. Even though the wait was busy and around 40 minutes, he still found moments to chat with us and keep the mood light, which made the time pass quickly. Our server was absolutely wonderful. I didn't catch her name, but she was friendly, energetic, warm, and incredibly personable. When she learned we were visiting from China and had spent more time in places like Los Angeles before coming to New Jersey for the first time, she happily shared stories about the local area and made us feel right at home. Her kindness completely changed the feeling of a cold, rainy day. The food was outstanding. We finished everything, even though we were already full, because it was just that good. This is the kind of place where the food is satisfying, the portions are generous, and the experience feels real. I made sure to leave my tip directly for our server because she truly earned it. If there's ever an opportunity for recognition or promotion, I hope management knows what a gem they have on their team. Pompton Queen Diner is a reminder of why classic American diners matter so much. In a time when so many places focus only on trendy Instagram aesthetics, this restaurant offers something far more valuable: genuine warmth, personality, and heart. Support traditional local diners like this. They are treasures. Kyle Liu
