I attended one of the cooking classes there and really enjoyed everything they made so the next time I was downtown I thought I would try out the food truck for lunch. Everything was excellent--interesting flavor combinations, food was well prepared and fresh, and service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the pork sandwich, which came with a smoky/spicy sweet potato salad. The homemade pink lemonade was also a standout! I will definitely eat here again.

Heads up: "iced coffee" was not the cold brew I'm used to from home- it's made some a sweetened syrup and is served with whipped cream. I am guessing it is a regional hit but we didn't like it. We got there about 11:15 am today and the place was almost empty. We only recognized one server from the past. The food wasn't fresh. We had the buffalo chicken salad and the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. The Chicken tasted old and overcooked. The fries seemed to have been re-heated to death! It's sad, but the bread of the buffalo chicken sandwich was the best part of the meal. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon. The baked beans were Ok but kinda tasted like a canned bean with BBQ sauce added. The corn on the cob was good for boiled corn. We also had the small rib plate. The ribs tasted good but lacked the needed smoke flavor. The mac & cheese and potato salad was also good. The interior was nothing special either. One word to describe it, OLD. Is it becoming harder to source the quality tender ribs or are the quality ribs becoming more scarce or inaccessibly expensive? Whatever the case may be, things took a back step this time and the ribs did not have the smoked taste as I have experienced before. Did the ribs need to be on a little longer? I ordered three slabs and large sides of potato salad, baked beans, and coleslaw. Surprisingly, the baked beans were the weakest of the three. The potato salad was markedly better and the coleslaw was the best for my tastes. I still maintain Brenda's is the place to get great smoked ribs, but this weekend was not their best effort. Brenda's is the best place to get your bones in Montgomery and I take them back with me to NYC because they're that good. 4.0 stars!
