My whole family goes to them and I feel like all of the massage therapists really have a profound grasp on the human body AND how to deal with customers. They have a super nice environment, complete with a really comfortable relaxation room. My experiences have been fantastic. They do a great consult before the massage and really listen to feedback, so each massage is tailored just for you. I have been getting the deep tissue/theraputic massages and I already notice a difference in my shoulders, neck, back and hips. They also tell you about what stretches to do between the massages. When I made my appointment I requested a deep tissue and told the receptionist I wanted a male or strong women because I liked a lot of pressure. My therapist was a small women who was not physically capable of giving me the massage I wanted. The massage also was a few minutes shorter than the scheduled 60 minutes. When paying a premium for a service I would expect far better treatment than I received at That's the Rub. Overall I was dissatisfied and feel I was cheated. I will never go back. In response to the comments to my initial review response from That's the Rub: The attempt to villainize and bully me in your response to my initial review was unprofessional and speaks to the character of this business. Many of the claims in the initial response are untrue. I filed out the post-appointment survey after my service to express my feelings. I then waited a day or two to give your business the benefit of the doubt and see if you would respond or apologize. I did not receive anything. The swift response to my Yelp review leads me to believe that you are not all that concerned with client experience, but only with ratings. To address the points made in your response: 1. I do not recall the receptionist telling me that there were no therapists capable of giving me the massage I was requested on this day. When I made my appointment and I was under the impression that the therapist I was given was fully capable of giving me the massage I requested. 2. During my massage I asked for more pressure multiple times. The therapist did her best, but was not able to give me what I requested. After the massage it was her, the therapist, who brought up the fact that she was not able to give me as deep of a massage as requested due to her size. 3. I arrived between 5-10 minutes early for the massage which to your point is not 10-15 minutes. However, I was in the waiting room for at least 5 minutes waiting for the therapist before my massage. This indicates to me that she was not yet ready and the massage was cut short due to her tardiness. 4. As a paying client I am allowed to express that I was displeased with the service I received. 5. The desk manage offered me 20% of a future massage. After spending $98 on a subpar massage I was not planning on returning. read more

When I pay for the massage and take the time to go in, I want to get the muscles loose and really feel like I got my money's worth. This was worth it. I am a nurse and I work long hours and occasionally deal with a lot of stress at work, which tends to manifest itself in extreme tightness in my neck and shoulders. I booked a 90 minute massage with Gabrielle hoping that I could get some relief from the kink in my neck that had developed after my last shift at work, and also to try to release some of the tension in my shoulders and arms. I am very happy to report that she zeroed in on the problem areas I had mentioned (and found some that I did not mention) and spent enough time and used enough pressure/different techniques to achieve a therapeutic effect. As a health care worker I understand that there is a strong relationship between the mind and the body but like so many busy people in our society, I failed to see how the emotional side of my work was creating physical stress. A few gently probing questions (coupled with lots of not-so-gentle deep tissue work) from this fabulous massage therapist helped me to let go of both emotional and physical tension.
