It is a very classic and timeless chapel that reminds me of growing up in my grandmas church. She helped us plan our new Wedding with only 2 months left till our day. She took our romantic, elegant vision we have had the past 2 years and made it come to life at her Chapel. What made our day even more special was that I got to say "I do" to my Groom in the same church my parents said "I do" 34 years ago and also the church I grew up going to with my parents and grandparents. We have been through so much with planning a wedding during a pandemic but the second we decided to change our Venue to Oakwood Chapel our anxiety and stress simply was gone because of the way we were treated by Anne Marie. During my ceremony there were only 75 chairs set up. This is quite concerning--seeing as though my final guest count was 140, while my guests were being seated staff was moving extra chairs into Salon B having only 75 chairs when I paid for more it was not just an inconvenience; it was a major oversight that led to embarrassment for both me and my guests. Secondly it was so Hot in Ceremony B during my ceremony and to my surprise, I heard the air kick on in the room once my ceremony had ended. I personally asked Pamela to ensure that the air was on at my rehearsal, which she did not but she advised that she would do so, and not to worry. It's frustrating to that despite my proactive communication with Pamela, the air conditioning was not addressed until after the ceremony. The comfort of my guests and well as myself, I feel is key during such an important event, and it's disappointing that this was overlooked. July 3rd was my wedding rehearsal and upon arriving to the venue Pamela did not communicate prior that there was another ceremony being set up, while my wedding party all arrived we were all left in the foyer looking puzzled, once order was established we were redirected to another room that was unprepared for our arrival, the lights were off and there was tables and chairs in the middle of the floor which the men in my party had to move. The room itself was uncomfortable due the humidity and breathtaking heat. With that being said I asked Pamela to ensure that the heat was turned on prior to my ceremony due to the number of guests I had arriving and also the weight of my wedding gown. Lastly I ordered and paid for filet mignon for all of my guests; I purposely emailed Pamela asking to go over my menu just days before my wedding to make sure my menu was correct once again. (I have copies of the email printed). Then out comes beef roast!! I was once again disappointed on what is supposed to be my special day! I ultimately felt let down when the menu I confirmed was not what was served. The filet mignon was a special request and not receiving it without prior notice is unacceptable. Communication is vital in these situations and there wasn't any. Not to mention that my champagne toast was skipped, and at the end of the night a bill came for "33" extra people and come to find out only 14 were extra. Please do not patronize this company, they are not for the consumer and will make you promises just to get your money and they will ruin your wedding day. I will be contacting higher ups on this one because it's unacceptable. I called the Mirage on July 9th at 10:26 am and spoke with Pamela requesting to speak with the owner. Pamela ensure me that once the owner Moe was in he would contact me, still no contact has been made so I'm leaving this review.

Beautiful location. Disappointing experience…read more The grounds are gorgeous--10/10. Unfortunately, a beautiful location does not make up for a lack of thoughtfulness, cultural awareness, or respect for the ceremony itself. Our ceremony was spiritual and deeply meaningful to us. Every element was chosen for a sacred reason connected to our culture and ancestors, and we followed the venue's instructions by submitting our music selections in advance. During our ceremony, they were rushing so much to keep everything moving that they played my groom's entrance song while the minister was walking out. This was not the correct moment for that song and should have began once the minister was in place so that the moment wasn't shared. But they were RUSHING. Later, during our sand ceremony, our Officiant was performing a traditional ancestral reading. This was a sacred moment that did not require background music. Then, completely out of nowhere, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" started playing. We had never selected this song, and it was not part of our ceremony or a song we would ever even choose for our wedding. It completely disrupted the ancestral reading, forcing our Officiant to speak over the music to finish. When I asked why it happened afterward (via text), I was texted and told, "I noticed nothing was planned for that moment," and that "I liked to have something playing softly in the background." Her personal preference is not a reason to insert a song into someone else's wedding ceremony, especially when we had already submitted our selections. I do not believe there was malicious intent, and she did apologize. However, the decision was incredibly presumptuous and showed a lack of awareness about the significance of what was happening. This was our wedding. Our ceremony. I still cannot understand how someone could look at a deeply meaningful ancestral ritual and think, "You know what would make this better? A random Hawaiian ukulele-style song that I think is great." Apology or not, that was an epic display of ignorance. She heard silence and thought, "I know what this needs. A song I like!" Unbelievable. Unfortunately, this felt like part of a larger issue, an assembly-line approach to weddings. We were the fifth and final wedding of the day, and there was a noticeable urgency to keep everything moving. The rush energy made everyone so uncomfortable. Before our allotted ceremony time had even ended (it wasn't even close), the owner began collecting our things. This lady is literally in our wedding pictures grabbing our things up. Our ancestral broom was picked up to "help" us, and I had to take it back because again that action was out of step with our cultural practices. I wanted her to Relax so bad. The Rushing was insane.Communication was another frustration. We were initially told we would have a rehearsal, then told something different after signing the contract. I happened to have recorded the original conversation because we were taking so many notes while choosing a venue, so there was no ambiguity about what had been said. It was just a sales tactic. Every conversation seemed to start over with each new person.My advice: do not confuse the tour with the actual client experience. The tour is phenomenal, and they know how to sell the package. You step into the garden, the music starts, the scenery is beautiful, and suddenly you are imagining your wedding. It worked on me--I signed up on the spot. But remember, it is a sales pitch. Once you sign, you are one of the couples moving through the system. Read everything and ask questions.Going over your allotted time costs $400 per 15 minutes. They are upfront about that ridiculous fee, so I knew about it beforehand. Still, $400 for 15 minutes should literally be criminal. We dod nit go over, but it is worth mentioning.I also strongly recommend skipping the optional sand ceremony supplies. I assumed the design would be etched or professionally printed onto the glass. Instead, it is a piece of paper scotch taped inside the vase, with the sand ending up behind the paper. For an additional $45, the quality cheap. Bring your own.Unfortunately, good intentions do not automatically equal the ideal experience. At some point, the business model seems to take over, and weddings become schedules, packages, upsells, time slots, policies, and couples moving through a system. Did I say Rushing enough. If you want a beautiful backdrop, this place is worth considering. If you want a personalized experience where your cultural traditions, sacred rituals, and individual ceremony choices are treated with attentiveness and reverence, I would think very carefully before booking here. I walked away with a beautiful venue, some good memories, and a brand-new understanding of audacity. I still enjoyed my wedding and the breathtaking location. Just don't assume the beauty comes with the same level of care for the meaning behind your wedding. It's business.

*WEDDING VENUE REVIEW*…read more We hosted our wedding ceremony and reception here, as well as our bridal party photos, and we couldn't have been any happier with the results! We stumbled on this place via a Facebook advertisement. We had been trying to find another venue to move to because our current one was not cooperating because of pandemic uncertainty. After talking with Haley in person about our day and what we were looking for our of this place, we absolutely could not pass it up. The only day they had available for the Fall was the day we were going to get married on, September the 11th. Working with Haley throughout our journey to the big day was very easy and we experienced no issues the entire time with any of the planning, coordination with vendors, or anything that kept changing on our end that we needed to communicate with. We were offered a food tasting with our families, then got to have our rehearsal dinner here as well. Even on our big day, we had the ceremony and reception in the same place. On our big day, I was working on a lot of the last minute set up or overviews of the venue while my wife was getting ready. Everything was absolutely perfect, and the staff here kept me as calm as I could have been. The ceremony looked beautiful as well as the reception. All of the coordination was done correctly and efficiently. Our guests who attended the wedding regularly talk about how beautiful it was as well as how great the food was! We could not have asked for a better experience and a better day for our wedding. Very impressed with how efficient and prepared this venue was to host an event.
