Hit up The Adult Shoppe on 23rd Ave, and let's just say I wasn't ready for everything that I encountered inside that place. This place felt like stepping into a dimly lit altar for the unashamed. This place isn't just sex toys and cheap porn DVDs (Do people actually still pay for pornography?) The Adult Shoppe is a whole mood all on its own, And once you've experienced it and the multiple theater rooms, you'll understand what I'm saying. I am not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but I found myself in this store wandering the aisles finding things I couldn't name but definitely wanted to Google later. The adult theaters and private DVD rooms off to the sides? We don't really talk about what goes on in there publicly. Let's just say, you'll have to experience that for yourself. The energy was surprisingly chill, and the people? Interesting in that after spending time among them, you'd probably have an erotic story or thirty to tell later. If you're bold, curious, or just horny and bored, go check it out. It's twelve dollars and that gives you four hours of theater time. You can come and go during that time frame and I suggest you bring a drink as the vending machines are overpriced. It's a fun place and I hope to see you there one of my next visits. Also, be sure to drive or take an Uber because the parking lot is hella sketchy. read more

I came here to visit with my girlfriend. We are in our mid 30's and were looking to see what phoenix had to offer. The clerk at the counter seemed pretty irritated and I explained that it was our first time visiting the city and business and we would like to peak inside for a few minutes to decide whether or not we were comfortable enough to purchase a ticket. He was pretty adamant that we pre pay full price and weren't allowed to take a peak prior. It was a bit annoying, but we paid ($24), and tried both side of the theatre's. It was not exactly what we were seeking. Just a bunch of overly aggressive creeps that couldn't ease the tension and were overly eager to crowd around. Needless to say she was not feeling it and we left about 5 minutes into it. No refund and no fun. I'll pass if you are a couple hoping to find something fun. Way too many creeps with no actual people skills. Ps: The male clerk is an obvious jealous hater who doesn't like women, so he doesn't do any favors for them. read more

I take reports of discrimination, poor service, and illegal activities seriously. I am not one to usually complain but I could not let this go bye without saying something. I recently visited The Adult Shoppe located on Holly street in Phoenix and had an incredibly disappointing experience. One of the employees who was identified to me as Arturo displayed clear prejudice toward Black customers compared to others. When leaving he followed Black customers to their cars, shined lights in their faces and told them they had to leave the property immediately without even giving them a chance to check their phones for messages. I also witnessed him demanding to check Black customer's tickets while not bothering to do the same with white customers and transexuals. This behavior was unacceptable and deeply concerning. Additionally, the customer service was extremely poor. He was especially rude, unhelpful, and dismissive of Black customers. Several other employees confirmed his hatred of Black people but said they wouldn't bring it up to management because they didn't want to get involved or had fear of retaliation from this employee. To make matters worse, I noticed activities happening on the premises that violated the law. Specifically, prostitution by several very aggressive transsexuals. I actually witnessed money changing hands. It is clear from the signs posted that management has had this problem before in the past and can't help but be aware of the situation. What management MAY not be aware of is what two employees told me about the situation. Specifically that this employee, Arturo, likes the "trannies" and allows them to do anything they want. One told me that he likes to have sex with them on the premises when thinks no one is watching. Additionally, they told me that he takes a cut from their prostitution in exchange for free admission. Again the other employees are afraid to bring this up with management. This raises further issues with legality and safety of the other customers. I strongly encourage the owners to address these serious issues, implement better hiring and training practices, and ensure their business operates lawfully and ethically. Until then, I cannot recommend this establishment to others. In the mean time, I am considering reporting these issues to the Phoenix Police Vice Department and the Phoenix Health Department unless immediate action is taken by management to rectify the situation. read more

very disappointed in the morning staff what's up with that guy named Jaime was friendly at first until I refused his proposition, which he proposed while walking into my private room without being invited using his key to unlock my door then proceeded to get mad when I refused him and asked him to get out telling me. I only had 10 minutes left when I had only been in there 15 min. that place has changed so much I'm disappointed and won't be going back! read more

Beware. If you get a private movie the dickhead employee doesn't even let you watch all of it. You get one hour regardless if the movie is over or not. I got to watch only one scene and the employee tonight was a total prick. He should be fired. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. read more

I used to come here a lot, I don't think I'll be back until their policies change. Its too bad. I have had good times in here but... For $2000 they could fix this place up real nice and decent. Too bad they won't invest. Their bathroom is always terribly stinky. The place is always dirty. The North side theater always reeks. So much trans-people action going on here, its just not my thing. Its mostly straight guys that come here, but they will play no-homo if need be. The admission is $9 for 4 hours, making this place so not worth it for me. It used to be an 12 hour two store ticket. I used to come by twice, once on my way out and once on my way back and at the 24th St store coming from the east valley. I can't do this anymore because the clerks have become aggressive and rude lately. The 4 hour ticket expires just about when I come back from my drive. I used to buy 4 tickets a week here. My $36/week will be better spent at Pleasure Word at Washington and 40th St. Its a little out of my way but much cleaner, friendlier and much less hassle. If their policies and cleanliness change I will probably be back, but for now I am having a much better time spending my money at Pleasure World which is 24 hrs, or the best one - Paradise Adult Bookstore (only open until 7pm - but also closing in December sadly). read more

With nothing around but warehouses and tucked away next to the freeway... the assortment of toys is enough to meet any particular desire and the video selection is just enough to have a little bit for everyone's mood. This place is a shit hole! If I could give it no stars I would. Took my wife there. She had to use their bathroom, that I can't understand why the board of health wouldn't close them down for. It reeked of urine and looked as if there were hidden treasures all over the floor if you get what I mean. Not to mention it's a communal bathroom without locks. The theater rooms have hardwood seating and floors that were sticky and gross with broken benches that are literally a lawsuit waiting to happen. This place is a lawyer's wet dream. I wouldn't allow my wife or girlfriend to go down on her knees on that floor regardless of how bad I wanted it. It was disgusting. Not to mention the people who are using it as a place to sleep because of the eight Dollar price which is cheaper than a halfway house. They charge for couples which is not the norm for this industry as a Woman in your establishment is gold. Otherwise you have a sausage fest. When addressing the clerk about the issues he didn't give a shit and said here's the card talk to the owner. No apology, no I understand, I'll fix that, nothing. He truly doesn't care and from the looks of things neither does the owner. This is a place that they are making money on desperation. I do not recommend using this place in anyway shape or form. It is as scuzzy and sleazy as you can possibly make it. Truly it should be reported to the board of health and shut down. read more
