We had a great time- was given a table for our friends birthday. Then we go to the bar to get a drink and saw this dude use his grubby hands to reach into the garnish container. We then told the bartender and she literally said "Oh i know I saw." FROTHING CAKE ALERT----If you are looking for a place to witness hot first responders attending to a plethora of overdose concern then this is your place. Cake is a notorious drug den where all the seediest dealers hang out.. The first time I went here a guy was on the ground in the corner foaming at the mouth. The club was evacuated and I don't think this person made it out. Last weekend was more of the same only this time it was a woman collapsed and convulsing on the ground at the entrance. A large crowd was formed watching the paramedics save her. The city of Scottsdale has their hands full working an uphill battle in this area of town. From what I have witnessed first hand, Cake is the darkest of dark. The atmosphere inside this cramped dive bar space is pure chaos. The only luring component that stands out here are a handful of beautiful servers in sexy lingerie ringing up expensive bar tabs. Navigating around paramedics both times I went here has left a first hand traumatizing impression. The number of ER calls fielded to this address must be staggering as Cake is a well positioned host to the parasitic CRI$I$ that exists in this sector of old town bars. read more

The worst experience I've ever had in any establishment. A blonde bottle girl rudely tapped my person with a sour expression in an attempt to move past, I explicitly said "You can say excuse me" because the music wasn't loud and words could be used to communicate. Nothing more or less was said or done. She proceeded to tell the mustached security guard to escort me out. He continuously touched my shoulders when I had asked him to stop touching me and said he was going to talk to me. Never in my life have I ever been treated so poorly. I don't understand why this bottle girl in lingerie had to be so rude and proceed to take out her anger and have the security take me outside for asking another human being to have manners. Regardless, I left with elegance and class, unlike this establishment. Neither this girl or boy was worth my time. Extremely fragile egos. I guess the night was slow. I'm not sure about anybody else's experience, but I had an amazing time! This nightclub is perfect for whatever type of party person you are. I was actually invited here by a friend who basically took care of my experience, so I can't speak on any lines to wait in or cover charges. I sat at a booth section where we were given bottomless vodka, cocktails. The music was pretty cool, it was your average Scottsdale party music. There were a lot of different groups. There are such as bachelorette parties and birthday parties. There were a lot of different types of entertainment. If you weren't singing your heart out with your friends, it was pretty easy to make friends. There were sparklers going off (don't get too close) and ladies spinning in the air. I actually enjoyed my experience. Our bottle girl was super sweet and there were so many different places to take pictures, because that's the most important thing, haha. The bouncer and the manager are a joke, they didn't do anything even though my girlfriend and her friends told them we were just waiting for them. I want to start off by saying old town Scottsdale is very racist to you if you're not white. Me and my friends decided to go out for a little last night and went to cake when we first got there the vibes were off this guy who looks like he was on something keep creeping on us almost the whole night, the staff always shoves and pushes you, then I believe he was a promoter asked us twice to follow him into a section we declined. Third time we decided to go it was on the right side of the dj , for us just to be embarrassed by some white guy, he asked us if he knew us and why we were there I tried to nicely explain we were brought up there by some guy and he was like "I don't know you leave" which is not an issue I understand if it's your section you paid for it but theres ways to say things. It felt like he was going to hit us while walking off the stage I told him I understand but you don't have to be rude and proceeds to say "leave leave leave I don't know you" almost shoving us off the stage. I think with this experience I will not be going to old town nor cake ever again they don't deserve our money, and I know it's a racism thing (not the first time in old town) would it have been any different if me and my friends were white. Well.... This place was right down the street from where we were having dinner so we went to check it out. Sketchy was how it was put in other reviews, but we thought couldn't really be that bad could it? It is that bad. Worth whatever the cost of the Uber would be to go The staff in the location were slow to respond and it wasn't busy yet - and they were short in responses . Outside the building was groups of people hanging all around and coming in and out and when you left their were cat calls - but the bouncers didn't deny obviously the same highly intoxicated people from coming back. Bathroom was not as clean as it could have been.. Place has a good location.... But as of right now they need more help and the bouncers need to toss people when they get unruly. read more

Service was absolutely AWFUL!!! My friend literally was pushed from behind by staff walking by. Door man was rude. I witnessed a worker literally snatching juice out of the hands of guest that were in a section. Idk if the time was up or what but the guest were visibly confused while the staff member offered no explanation. This place has the worst staff I have ever encountered ANYWHERE and I'm from Boston. My friend tried to use the bathroom for 30 minutes before closing and they would not let her. She was literally in tears so I went over to talk to security guards to try to let her use bathroom. They were extremely rude and would not allow it which is beyond ridiculous that they can serve you drinks for 3 hours straight and fill up your bladder but won't allow you to empty it out. Not to mention drinks are expensive so after spending literally hundreds of dollars this felt very unfair. I tried to reason with security but they weren't having it they were jus being rude and what was even more disgusting was the bartender girl standing there laughing at us. Then one extra mean blonde haired guy told them to kick me out and then I was literally dragged out aggressively by 3 security guards (mind you I'm a tiny small girl) breaking my nail and losing my shoe in the process. It was crazy. I have never been treated with such disrespect and am appalled that they felt it was ok to treat a woman like that. I work in the industry as well and understand dealing with patrons can be difficult but this was insane and unacceptable. read more

I am giving this place 3 stars as it is not my normal scene and we were here for a work social event. I thought it was an odd place to select for late night cocktails, but I can see the appeal that it had to our guests. We got their a little early around 9:30 and got drinks at the bar before they brought bottles to our table. One bartender was at the bar serving everyone, so service is expected to be a little slower. The woman was kind and we ordered two tequila water and limes which totaled after tip around 35 bucks. We are from Florida so these prices are pretty standard in Miami. Even with two tables blocked off for our group a lot of us had to stand , and that's where it got rough around 10:30. It was packed, people are slamming into you employees and attendees trying to get to the bathroom and dance floor. One employee came barreling by and slammed into a trash can knocking it over on me and just kept going so i picked it up for them. I honestly feel for the table servers knowing they had to continue to unlock our bottles at the table to serves us with people bumping into them all night. All in all, if your okay with normal nightclub music, you will have fun dancing. Not really my spot like i said with it being jammed packed and constantly getting pushed around, but the interior was cool with photo ops for the instagram influencers. read more

I barely write reviews but The other week I came with my bachelorette party to Scottsdale for the first time and we were recommended Cake Nightclub, we were told it has the best photo ops and the most Vegas/Miami like atmosphere. We had dinner at Toca Madera and then headed towards Cake about 1130. The line was insane! The place looked exclusive and we were worried about not getting in due to the wait. We decided to suck it up and wait in the line because we wanted a nightclub for the bachelorette not just a bar, and after only about 2 minutes a random man approached us and introduced himself and said his name was Ryan and he works at Cake and offered for us to skip the line, atfirst we thought it was a scam but when we asked how much we had to pay him he said he didn't want a dime from us just our IDs! Thank you for being a sweetheart and thank you for making the bachelorette feel so exclusive Ryan! PS Samantha thought you were so handsome and looked like Morgan Wallen! Right as we entered the club we took pictures in a pink bathtub and before we even asked, a taller blonde hostess asked us if we wanted our pictures taken of all of us together. Of course we did!! Thank you(I'm sorry we didn't get your name) the pictures were amazing! As we were taking a few more photos a manager who introduced himself as Austin approached us and offered us a table to sit at! He was very genuine and accommodating! The place was a bit too busy for our liking and it was difficult to get to the table, but the table helped with that once we arrived. Overall though it did feel a bit too crowded which is surprising since they also had a long line. I guess that's scottsdales demand for you.
