10/10 experience here. it's a bit difficult to find, as it's hidden amidst greenery, but street parking is plentiful and it's spacious inside. i loved my experience here! the class was very intimate and i found myself enjoying aerial play much more than i ever imagined. our instructor was so helpful and fun, and helped us celebrate a very special birthday. if you've never done silks or hoop before, i recommend it highly. it really touches on inner child play. i will warn you, i got quite nauseas after spinning around so please take care of yourself .

My FIRST in air splits on silks!!!!!!

This is going to be a long one (I'm sorry): I was being treated badly by James at Cirque School in Hollywood and yes, I told their management. You see, I have always wanted to learn silks and he refused to teach me at all and so I learned NOTHING (BEWARE OF JAMES AT THAT SCHOOL). So, the search was on. It was between Aerial in Orange County and the Aerial House but I decided on the Aerial House due to (1) the website, (2) location, and (3) the actual decor of the place. It had a homey, vaudeville, circus-look that appealed to me. I decided to try the Aerial House and I met Anna's husband first and he was big, tall, handsome and VERY well spoken and some of the other people before taking a class. They COMPLETELY welcomed me and I was shocked. I did not expect that and so I nervously inquired about their classes. And then I decided to take the plunge. I informed them that I would be starting from scratch (since James wouldn't teach me anything). Thus, Saturday December 14th came and I was ANXIOUS. I got there early and was met by Anna. I was immediately struck by her complete beauty, smile, grace. Not only that, but she was SO warm and welcoming. But the question remained: "would she act like James?" And I was astounded when she ACTUALLY gave me compliments and told me that I could be in one of the shows. I was stunned (TRULY). I kept looking behind me, thinking that she was speaking about someone else and she wasn't, she was talking about....me...you see folks, I was EXPECTING a put down and I braced myself for it but it NEVER came and I was relieved. The class started and it ran SO SO SO SO SO well, her pacing was astounding and then she did something that I did NOT expect. She gave me attention and she did that with EVERYONE. I ended up doing my FIRST true foot lock and then I ended up doing my FIRST double foot lock but the icing on the cake? I ended up doing SPLITS IN THE SILKS. You see: I've been dreaming of this for a long time and to finally do it and on the first lesson, was soul shaking! I FINALLY felt that "YES!" moment! I actually KNOW that I am going to be in their shows VERY VERY VERY soon. This was an awakening. Why? Because she (Anna) flashed that magnificent smile and I felt IMMEDIATELY relaxed and when she told me I was an AWESOME student, the stain of James COMPLETELY washed away! To top it off: ALL of the students there were cheering me on! And I found myself doing the same thing for them! They were warm, inviting, and even told me about the package deals (that I WILL be getting soon). ***Side note*** what Anna and the others didn't know was: THAT Saturday, I just got out of the hospital and was thinking about canceling but I could feel the radiance of that place and so, I'm VERY glad that I didn't. Anna's parting words? "Don't lose the momentum and you can do this Bud." She didn't know that when I went to the restroom, I was HAPPILY emotional!!!!!! I TRULY was! I IMMEDIATELY booked for next Saturday!!!!!!!! Thank you Anna, and we will DEFINITELY speak about (1) a routine and (2) doing a show IMMEDIATELY in the school. P.S.: To Anna's husband: you can tun but you can't hide! LOL! I WILL be taking Hammock, Lyra, and Trapeze as well. THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH Anna!

So thrilled to find this aerial house for my teen. All the kids class teachers are great and have their own strength and focus. The kids classes are small in size. I also love the flexibility of taking class by class, and not being locked into a specific day of the week or a fixed cost program.

The Aerial house is fabulous! My daughter had been asking to try for a while and referred by her friend who is so sweet that she accompanied her for almost all her classes. The class can schedule by single or series of classes. The reschedule or cancellation of class is very easy. The teachers are very patient and professional. My daughter enjoyed her classes. Highly recommended!

I chose Chris to build my Cyr Wheel because of his reputation and influence on the Flow Arts…read morecommunity. This is a large statement considering that I had various local builders to choose from, yet decided the extra $400 cost meant I was getting a superior product. Though he seems to be a nice guy, purchasing a wheel from Chris was extremely frustrating. Not only was his word unreliable, but he treated my order like one of those pesky favors you wish you hadn't committed to. Something tells me he wouldn't treat anyone this way, face-to-face. The full length story is an arduous journey that I don't wish on any of you, so I will speed it up. Basically, while Chris was prepping for his annual Burning Man trip, he got distracted and mailed me the wrong wheel by mistake (I suppose it belonged to Shaquille O'Neal since it towered over me). Instead of tracking down the other customer and reuniting us with our proper wheels, he proposed building me ANOTHER WHEEL from scratch. I was skeptical and asked for a refund. He assured me that he was a "man of honor" and that he would do the right thing. I agreed to wait ONE month for the new wheel. That "one month" turned into nearly 3 months (Sept 02-Nov 22) of spotty communication with so many missed deadlines that I completely lost track... and eventually surrendered. If you take anything away from this, let it be that I waited nearly 7 months for my order. All that said, the proper wheel is built well and I am very happy with it. I just have never experienced negligence like this before and I hope it doesn't happen to anybody else.

I had my first lesson there a couple of days ago and it's a terrific space. Sara is a friend of mine, so you might look at this recommenation with a bit of side-eye, but she was my favorite Pilates teacher long before we were friends. (And also, uh, I have a LOT of friends with businesses on yelp that I HAVEN'T reviewed, if you catch my drift, so this is as genuine a response as it gets.) I'd done Pilates with 5 or 6 other instructors over the years, and it was often what I'd call "good enough" Pilates, more of a social session than actual exercise. So I was startled to learn that no, there's usually one specific muscle to trigger, and it's usually not happy to be discovered, and then when you do finally get it working, it boosts the rest of them in a way I didn't know about. Now I do. Ask me about my lats and I will tell you more than you want to know. She's precise, detail-oriented, and she knows the almost-infinite variety of bodies so well it's almost supernatural. But it's not, because she's had a crazy amount of training and experience. Every once in a while she mentions something she's done -- rehabbing acrobats, observations from a cadaver class she took to better understand muscles, some minute gesture she first learned in ballet -- and I realize, again, what a gem she is as an instructor. I'm in the best shape of my life at 54, and that's on her. Generally speaking, I've boosted my weight lifting by about 30% because of her training, and my running has improved quite a bit -- turns out that extension in the lower back and working on hip flexor strength is crucial to keeping that cardio going.

Yeah, no. After injury, it's extra scary to trust someone to help you heal, and I didn't know where to go. I'm infinitely lucky that I found Sara. A couple clients who'd had injuries even worse than mine recommended her, and I took the leap. One of the best decisions I've ever made! She looks at your whole body, not just your injured area. She treats you like a whole person, actively listens, and is so freaking smart. I'm bouncing back better and faster than I had any reason to hope. I leave sessions with her knowing more about how my body works, and that knowledge is going to serve me well for my whole life. She doesn't just help you exercise or rebuild, she educates you and helps you build good habits. She's the kind of instructor who meets you where you are. No judgment, shame or weirdness. She treats your body (and you!) like a full individual worthy of respect, health and healing. Her studio feels safe and warm. And she's super funny, so bonus points for being a dang delight.
