She was just 4 at the time but loved horses and the website for Avalon said lessons start at age 5. I figured I would purchase the deal and use it when she turned 5, boy was I glad I purchased this deal! My daughter turned 5 in the first few weeks of December. We had our first lesson at Avalon just before Christmas. Lonna was my daughter's riding instructor for her first horseback riding lesson. Fun and engaging, Lonna made my daughter feel comfortable on top of the giant horse Evan she was riding. I might mention, my daughter is terrified of heights and Evan is impressively tall. Before riding Evan, my daughter was given the opportunity to groom a different horse with another riding instructor. She was shown how to brush, curry, and comb out the horses coat. She was also shown how to pick up and pick out the horses feet to get them ready to ride. After her first lesson she was hooked on horses and we signed up for a monthly lesson program. The staff, the facilities and the riding instruction is top notch. The Stables are always clean and the grounds are beautiful. The riding staff is trained in beginner to advanced riding techniques. They are welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. We are happy to have found Avalon Stables for our daughter.

A Summer to Remember-5 Stars!…read more My child had the time of their life at the EYS summer camp! From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The counselors were friendly and attentive, creating a safe and fun environment for all of the kids. The variety of activities kept them engaged and excited every day. We will definitely be coming back next year! Highly recommend!!!!!!

Shaun is a true professional and expert in his field; he was amazing with the children and parents and he's been genuine and invested in every child he's encountered for the last 6 years at EMA. He was also a true leader with the assistant coaches, providing direction and lesson plans that they would carry out under his guidance. My boyfriend and I even started attending the newly launched adult classes under his tutelage and we had a lot of fun while training hard and gaining experience in a variety of striking and grappling techniques. Then things started getting dodgy on the EYS Billing end. First, the rate we were promised for the Adult Martial Arts class was not what we were charged and we had to dispute the transaction. Then EYS charged my boyfriend's account for a weapons seminar that he was informed was an "interest-only" sign-up. Then for the month of December EYS canceled 4 of the 16 Adult EMA classes and only discounted roughly $15 instead of $29 which would be the correctly prorated amount for the membership dues. Lastly we found out that the owner Jacalyn terminated EMA owner Coach Shaun. We are devastated. A business is only as good as it's leader. Coach Shaun was the best thing about EMA; as evidenced by all the prior testimonials. Only time will tell what happens to EMA and EYS. Sadly, it's the kids who will suffer in the absence of such a great man like Coach Shaun. Lastly, we recently received news that EYS is currently under investigation by the Department of Children and Families and this isn't the first time DCF has had to step in. We find all of the aforementioned instances intolerable. My boyfriend and I are no longer registered members in the EMA Adult class, nor are several of our colleagues after they found out about the owner's actions and treatment of Coach Shaun. I'm sure as word continues to spread, more people will be pulling out of EMA/EYS. My entire family is disappointed that EMA will forever be changed, and sadly we fear, not for the better.

The -1 review is that this complex is now charging for parking. Really? My son has officiated games and played games on this campus for 4+ years; now he is refereeing games on county fields and not only was he taken by surprise; but the other refs in his area (all driving teenagers) by a new parking fee. This is ridiculous and a money grab. What county run facility charges for parking? Wesley Chapel District Park? Starkey Ranch? Tampa Bay Tournament Sports Plex? All not!!! Do the right thing and remove this "tax". My son has probably lost money today from his "ticket" and will pay for it with his referee earnings. What a joke. Edit: at the 11 hour and 59 minute mark he was given a code to comp. the parking with the "Honk" app that when all was applied was labeled "invalid". Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I write this review not to bash Lutz Montessori, but in the hope that their leadership and…read moreprocesses might evolve to prevent similar experiences for other families. What my family went through caused significant stress, anxiety, and sadness, and I would not wish that on anyone else. Overall, Lutz Montessori is a good school. The teachers appear experienced and genuinely care for the children. My son was enrolled in the VPK class for nearly a full year (with just two months left) and we had planned for him to continue into kindergarten there. Toward the latter part of the school year, we began receiving concerns from his teacher about behavioral challenges--such as difficulty sitting still during circle time, interrupting, or hesitating to transition indoors after playtime. The teacher offered several strategies, including using weighted blankets, sand timers, and even seeking occupational therapy. We followed through on all of these recommendations. I stayed in close contact with his teachers, frequently asking for updates and doing everything I could to reinforce positive behavior at home. I even raised concerns multiple times about whether the Montessori method was the right fit for my son, wondering if he might do better in a more traditional classroom. But I was reassured by staff that he was thriving within the Montessori environment . Like many four-year-olds, he had moments of energy and impulsivity. Still, his pediatrician, the occupational therapist, and a county counselor (whom the school referred us to) all offered consistent advice : "He is a young boy. He's too young to diagnose with ADHD, and many children outgrow this behavior." None of them felt alarmed, and importantly--his behavior never interfered with his academic development. Unfortunately, things changed drastically. Just eight weeks before the school year ended, my husband and I were called in for a meeting with the leadership team. During this meeting, we felt pressured to pursue ADHD testing for our son. Statements were made that strongly implied a diagnosis--despite the fact that no one on their leadership team was qualified to make one. The tone and approach of the conversation left me feeling so uncomfortable. Despite my concerns, we decided to allow him to finish the school year, not wanting to disrupt him socially or emotionally so close to the end. But during those weeks, we noticed changes in him: biting his nails, chewing on his sippy cup straw, and acting out in uncharacteristic ways. Then, I received a phone call from the school director. She informed me that she had recorded my son's behavior on her personal phone--without my knowledge or consent. The video was heartbreaking. I saw my son overwhelmed and unable to express his emotions. Rather than offering him a break or comfort, the director questioned him repeatedly and continued recording, placing the camera close to his face. I was shocked. I pulled him out of the school immediately. It's now been almost 3 months since that decision, and my son is in a new school where he is thriving. His new teachers speak highly of him, and I have not received a single behavioral complaint. I will likely always carry disappointment in the actions of the leadership team at Lutz Montessori. Writing this review was not easy. But these are children, and how they are treated during times of emotional vulnerability matters. My hope is that by sharing this necessary changes will be made so that no other child--or parent--has to go through what we did

This was our first visit and we went with friends and was not told how expensive this activity would be and we didn't know until after we got there. Now I know to be prepared to pay $35-$70 per person depending on what item you choose at this business. My daughter and I selected one of the smallest pottery options (small turtle jewelry dish, small scooter planter) because they were already $29 per piece and on top was an $8 studio fee per person. We couldn't afford anything bigger. It turned into $74 after tax for two people to paint two small pieces. Our friends had been there in the past (they live not far from this location) and noticed the prices definitely went up and shocked how expensive it was. I don't know how the mom with three kids afforded this art activity out who were with us at the same time. Have not seen our finished product yet, hoping all will be okay when our pieces are ready for pickup. But the price structure they have in place was just awful. I've been to many paint your own pottery studios in the area and this business is easily double the price. I won't be a returning customer.
