I've been seeing Shireen for the past 10 months and she is an amazing eyelash artist. The individual pieces are always placed perfectly and uniform. There's never been an eyelash going towards the wrong direction or one piece higher than the other. My volume set 2 weeks post looks like a classic set. The eyelashes stay on and looks great for 3 weeks, sometimes even 4 weeks. I do take care of my eyelashes, I brush them morning and night and cleanse them gently before bed. I can't recommend The Afterlash enough. I had my first extensions done by a friend's Mom in Texas. I was instantly hooked, but worried it would be difficult to find someone to fill them locally. And then I found Shireen :) She is so sweet, and very easy to talk to. She is gentle and careful. So much so that my first visit to her, I was surprised that I fell asleep! But that just tells you the kind of environment you are in while you get your eyelash extensions done. I am addicted to my lashes, and get compliments on them ALL the time. Usually it starts with people looking at my eyes, trying to figure it out. That's because they are so natural-looking, it's hard to tell if they are my real lashes or not :) The location is great. My experience at the AfterLash was amazing. I met with Phuong who is approachable and kind right off the bat. We did a brief consultation when I first arrived, at which point I was able to describe what I was looking for in the classic full set and then she got straight to work. Phuong is easy to talk to and puts you at ease. She is a diligent worker and really delivers. When I caught a glimpse of my lashes after she finished, I was ecstatic! I love my lashes! This is the 3rd lash extension place I have tried and I have found "my person"! lol .. Shirene does a wonderful job. My lashes have never looked better! I feel like Shirene really takes her time to make sure my lashes look great. My natural lashes are super fine and short and not as easy to work with as someone who has longer natural lashes. I had waited a while between salons, and my natural lashes seem to have taken a beating, as I tried to camouflage with mascara while they grew out and I found another salon. SO when I first went to Shirene, I didn't give her much to work with I'm afraid, but she still made them look good. That was almost 2 months ago. I just had my 3rd visit a week ago and the touch look looked so awesome I still feel elated when I look in the mirror! The lashes hold up really well and even made it through a week of cruising, sea water activities and nightly sweaty dancing! Extremely reasonable prices and close to home. read more

For those with a short attention span: I give Shireen 5 stars! She is incredibly talented, and will make you gorgeous! For those who like a little more information about how I came to this conclusion, read on: I am obsessed with my eyelashes, I used to wear false eyelashes daily ( I astonished make up artists with my ability to do it flawlessly)! Then, darling husband convinced me 'you're beautiful the way you are' so I weaned off the falsies, and stuck to mascara, trying everything from $5- $50 per tube, plus a Shu Uemura lash curler... With global warming, my allergies have gone into overdrive, it's really tricky to apply mascara to eyes that water every morning before allergy medicine kicks in.... Then the Latisse phase, I tried this for a couple years, expensive and results were minimal.... And still required mascara... So, before an exotic beach vacation, I decided to try eyelash extensions- I picked the #1 best match in Oakland on Telegraph Ave on Yelp- called 'TA*E CA*E' and saw SO*G...... The 'hipster' was rude, pretentious, and short tempered- she told me I'm too hard to lash, kept stopping, threatening not to go on if I didn't stop fluttering- it's hard to stay calm under duress, and the threat of being thrown out..... Lash less! Finally at an exorbitant price, I was granted drag queen lashes! That hurt when I blinked, so heavy my eyes irritated with weight turned bright red ! I called So*g and told her- her reply, I'm busy take Benadryl! I had responsibilities and a plane to catch! So I went on my far away vacation with infected looking eyes that hurt when I blinked due to the sheer weight! Thanks SO*G!! I researched hospitals on my small exotic island in case I needed to get professional help, but with eye drops, the irritation went away as did the drag queen lashes..... But I was not ready to give up based on one horrific experience! Then I found Shireen (cue angels singing)!!!! She is sweet, personable, patient, and best of all talented!!! Sans 'hipster' attitude! Her shop is clean and private,with easy parking!! I've learned this is not a one size fits all process! Shireen figured out what size, and shape bests suits my eyes! I have stunning cat eye lashes, that I can't feel!! It honestly feels like I'm not wearing make up, which almost make me feel naked, but then I look in the mirror!!! And wow, I woke up like this!!! I found the test of how well lashes are done- squeeze your eyes shut tight! Did you feel anything?! If you went to TA*E CA*E it might feel like little rocks in your eyes...
