UPDATE: the owner not only returned the $4.40 for the 22% tip, she also payed for the pizza. This was above and beyond and I truly appreciate it. My final thoughts are to make sure the handle held device has closed out (I don't know what that even means), get a receipt, or pay cash. The ordeal was unnecessary if I would have known all this beforehand. We so enjoy their pizzas and will continue to order from them. I called in and ordered a $20 pepperoni pizza. When I went to pay for it, I selected No Tip. Once I got home, I received a message from my bank saying I was charged $24.40. I called them and they fumbled with words trying to convince me I did it. Why on earth would I tip 22% for someone to literally turn around and hand me a pizza to go. In the end, they said there wasn't anything they could do. This is likely to be the best place to eat a very tasty pizza, drink a beer, or watch sports highlights. This place used to be two old "Row House" type stores. A pathway opened between the two and a pizza oven installed. Great place to take the family or just drink alone. read more

I was in town to visit someone and we came to the alibi for dinner. It is located on main street in Shelby. Very easy to find and park. The place was busy but Morgan was working the bar and tables and really kept up with it all. The house chips with ranch dressing were great, cooked right and not greasy. Traveling through we wanted to sit down and eat, but not wanting the typical "fast food" . We found this little gem, Friendly staff, clean and really good food with way too large of portions. Resturant has an open wall for bar entrance and entry to bathrooms. Bathrooms were clean, bar looked clean and only had a hand full of people, music on but not loud. Husband got the Mexican burger with huge cut fries, I got the jalapeno burger (btw was very spicy, but so yummy) with the fries and kids got the cheese pizza. If you live in Shelby there's a strong chance you're going to give this place 5-stars. However if you live in a major city and you frequent quality pizza places often there's no doubt this is a 3-star joint. However, in Shelby this could be the best place to eat and it's coupled with a wonderful, inviting, modern atmosphere filled with great service and plenty of beer. Keep in mind it's only open from 4 o'clock on and specializes in pizza. The food is also overpriced. If you're staying here on your way into Canada or into the United States this is probably your go-to choice. The thin pizza is average, but they do a wonderful job at offering a dozen different pizzas, which is much better than your typical pepperoni or cheese. The real value here comes in their TVs. It's a great place to watch a game. Beyond that, there's not much to say. If you're going to order a salad be prepared for store-bought iceberg and spring mix lettuce and what tasted like salad dressing from a distributor, not homemade stuff. I was pretty disappointed with it, but in this part of Wheat Country it's common. read more

We needed a place to rendezvous with some friends around Shelby, for dinner. I was a little disappointed with the limited options, but we decided to try The Alibi Lounge. We were all very pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was great, and the food and service definitely turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! We each ordered something different. One of us got the pizza, another a Caesar salad and chicken fingers, another the wings, and I got the mushroom, swiss burger! They were all delicious! This restaurant was highly recommend to us by a local, so we came here to eat dinner last night. The inside is divided into two: one side is a bar that has pool tables and flat screen televisions while the other side was a simple spacious dining with several tables. Our appetizer was inferno wings, which were very spicy. We ordered a 14" Deluxe pizza. The Deluxe had onion, green peppers, mushrooms, beef, pepperoni, sausage and salami. The pizza was really good, nice and hot. We couldn't finish eating it all, so we took the rest with us. The customer service was very good and the restaurant was clean. If you're going through Shelby, I recommend coming to Alibi to eat. read more

There's a "bar side" and a "dinning room" side. Both are well lit with a great atmosphere. I had the Kraut pizza with a side of Thursday night football on a giant TV. The thing crust is thin and kinda crunchy but soft under the topping. Amazing in this, or any, town. read more

Very good pizza, a crispy, thin crust. Lots of varieties, lots of topping options. I had the 'Cowgirl', which is a hawaiian pizza with marinara and jalapenos. Very tasty. My wife had a salad which she said was very good also. My wife had asked what kind of beer they had, and our very young and inexperienced waitress said, "Just about any kind of beer you can imagine". Apparently, imagination isn't a big item in Shelby, MT, because that amounted to standard offerings from Budweiser and Miller. I went in looking for a salad bar, it's only available Monday - Friday. I got a BLT pizza. Basically it's a bacon pizza, and then when it's done they put fresh chopped lettuce and tomatoes on it. Great burgers! I ordered the steak house burger and it by far exceeded my expectations! The burger was juicy and tender and the BBQ was soooo good! We sat on the sports bar side and it was pretty loud but not bad. The bathrooms were in really good condition for being a sports bar. I was also surprised by the menu size. My only complaint was that our waitress seemed to be the only one working the tables that night so as you can guess she was not paying very close attention to us. We waited for 20 minutes after asking for our check before we just went up to the bar to pay and she acted like we never asked for our bill. She said $36.00 and we paid and left a tip. Once we left we both looked at each other and realized that we were over charged $10 bucks and she never gave us a receipt! My burger was $15.50 and hers was $11.00 and we both had water. So that does not add up to $36.00. We did not go back because it was late and honestly we did not want to have to wait forever for her to help us or explain it to her and remind her that she never gave us a receipt so we could not show for what we got. I hope she pays better attention in the future and does not over charge the customers on the regular. read more

Just passing through Shelby and found a wonderful restaurant with the most delicious homemade pizza. We also had the salad bar and it had the freshest ingredients. Michelle, the owner was very friendly and funny. She told us about what the building looked like from the 70's before she remodeled it. The bar and restaurant were so clean and everything looked brand new and the restrooms were immaculate. There is also a burger menu and lots of yummy appetizers. Burgers are good but overpriced, I suppose they consider that the premium for being in Shelby. The pizza, however, is incredible, and worth every penny. Combine that with friendly staff and good beer on tap, this is one place you won't need an alibi for. read more

Stopped here on our way to Glacier National Park. Their pizza was definitely one of the best top 5 pizzas I ever had in my life. At first glance this place doesn't look like a family restaurant but more like a bar. But once you go inside there is actually 2 sections of the lounge. One for bar folks and the other for family dining. My family and I ordered a large sausage and veggie pizza and we will never forget how good it was. If you like ranch with your pizza then you will love this place too. Heads up the portions are a bit smaller than most typical pizza joints. The staff was friendly and very helpful with direction and attractions in Glacier National Park. read more

We got stuck in Shelby for a few hours and ended up here mostly because it shares a name with the bar in the TV show Shameless - but it was worth the stop.
