Sunday, Sunday out for a drive. Checking out places to see if we're alive. Hard to find many places open on a Sunday but this is one. It's a kitschy "School booster" type of place where you might bump into the Archies. Sort of Pop's Chocklit shop in Riverdale kind of vibe. We went on a nice later afternoon drive towards the Tetons from Cutbank, but decided it was too far to get back in daylight and we wanted some wind off the water ions. We already took the pooch for a visit to the doggie park in Cutbank so we wandered over to Valier and Lake Frances the back way across the prairie. It was a nice drive and we passed a historic Merriweather landmark before we got to town. There was a campground and we watched a murmuration of geese flying over the lake. I was getting hungry and as usual my big nose found food. At first glance it looked closed but I could barely see the OPEN sign glowing through the tinted window and the parking lot was empty. We went in (around 5:00PM) and only 1 other person was there. "Did we miss the dinner crowd?" I asked 1/2 jokingly and the young guy behind the counter said they usually show up around 6 so they don't waste the daylight. We settled in at a table for 10 and ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. $11 and fries or baked potato was the side option. We went for potatoes. Nicely done and decent sized. The burgers were filling. The meat and cheese with cooked onions was good. The buns were just average but better than the Cutbank McDonald's looked. (We considered a Big Arch a couple hours before this) The place was clean, but I didn't check the plumbing and I didn't ask about other stuff. I had come to the town for a haircut a month ago and had noted the lake. (Recreational Water is scarce in Montana) Next time we'll have to check out the dam in Moscow. I hear there's boat rentals. read more

Great food, friendly service.The food was cooked to perfection and the portions are very generous. The cook/ waitress was just a gal to talk to. The prices are great. A person can actually afford to take their family there. I'd love to eat there every day. I'll give it thumbs up! read more

The food was delicious! Fresh and tasty! Like home cooking only no dishes. The Panthers cafe was nice, clean and welcoming. We stopped for a very late lunch. I had the cod and salad. My son had the chili burger and fries. The fries seemed freshly cut and fried. My son also took a fried egg sandwich to go and it hit the spot as well. Service was friendly. I'd eat here again if I'm traveling through again. read more

Simple well prepared well served meals in a spot that might otherwise be a food desert. A refreshing respite for those that need a break before their final push into the park, or just for a change of pace if you've spent too long in Browning! read more

Food was awesome omelette was good asf and i would want to come back because it was very very good

Turkey soup was terrible. Sandwiches were satisfactory. People were there for the ice cream.

We stopped at this adorable cafe on our way home from Whitefish. The women were all smiles and so welcoming. We all had a yummy lunch that filled our bellies and left with a smile on our faces! This little gem is a wonderful stop in! read more

We were going through the town on our way to Whitefish and we decided to eat at this place. We're so glad we ate at this place! This place brought back good memories of our hometown in California. There were a few awesome and responsible young adults (possibly high schoolers), cooking us food. The food was awesome. They were very polite and sociable. We enjoyed our time there! We ate there twice breakfast and lunch; both were very good and generous amounts. We should happily stop there again.

Although it has some great Coworkers this is not the place I would never eat again. Since the new ownership the quality of the food has gone down and the hospitality has slowly gotten near disrespectful. There are 2 other restaurants which I would highly recommend! Froggies has great people and and great food at the perfect price. The lighthouse has the most elegant food but a bit pricey. The quality of food has NEVER changed there and you will love the mud pie!! read more

Although this used to be a quality restaurant, it has not kept it's quality rating when it comes to the food. Undercooked pizzas and other food has kept me from revisiting this restaurant. The lighthouse and Froggies is near by and have very well prepared foods. read more
