1/2 Review: The Allard Bakery and Bistro We stopped in for a late lunch and were immediately greeted and seated, always a great first impression. Our table setup included two chairs and a couch. While comfortable, the couch sat noticeably lower than the tabletop, making it a bit awkward for dining. This was the only minor knock during our visit. Service, however, was outstanding. Our server, Austin, was kind, engaging, and genuinely attentive to our needs. The pacing was spot-on and the hospitality felt effortless and warm. Now for the food. We ordered the Farm Burger featuring Kobe beef, an over-easy egg, bourbon pork belly, pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions, and baby mixed greens. It arrived beautifully plated and cooked exactly as ordered. We upgraded to the truffle fries, which were absolutely worth it. Crispy, flavorful, and indulgent without being over the top. We also enjoyed the seasonal roasted beet salad, a refreshing and well-balanced dish with strawberries, roasted candied pecans, and a variety of beets that played together nicely in both flavor and texture. Pricing felt appropriate for the quality of ingredients, thoughtful plating, and excellent flavors coming out of the kitchen. All in all, a fantastic experience with just a small seating hiccup keeping it from a full five stars. A return visit is definitely planned. read more

We visited The Allard Bakery and Bistro in Hudson during lunch hours and left with mixed impressions, but also a strong desire to return for dinner. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, with a modern meets classic charm that sets the tone for a thoughtful dining experience. I had my eye on the shrimp gnocchi, which several reviewers rave about, but unfortunately it was unavailable that day. We started with side Caesars which was fresh and crisp, though fairly standard. I ordered the Jadore Chicken Garden Salad and asked if I could substitute grilled chicken for crispy, but was told no. Oddly, when the salad arrived, it had grilled chicken after all. It was good, just not particularly memorable. My husband had the steak and eggs, which he said were cooked perfectly. Again, solid execution, but nothing that stood out. That said, the overall quality of the main courses was very good. Looking over the dinner menu, we are eager to come back in the evening. The real magic happened at dessert. We overheard a staff member mention that one of the women behind the counter makes many of the desserts herself, and she may be from Italy. Our server couldn't stop praising her crème brûlée and key lime tart, so we had to try both. The crème brûlée was smooth and flavorful, though a bit softer than I prefer. But the key lime tart? Absolutely phenomenal. My husband, a Tampa native and self-proclaimed key lime aficionado, broke his keto diet for it--and declared it one of the best he's ever had. I don't usually like key lime, but even I was impressed. Tangy, creamy, and perfectly balanced--it's a must-try if you're anywhere near Hudson. Service was friendly, and while there were a few small hiccups, the warmth and pride the staff take in their food really shines through. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu, and to get another slice of that unforgettable tart. read more

The Allard is a beautiful, modern space & such a unique option for the area. The dining space is open, bright & elegant. We sat at a table with chairs & a couch, which was comfortable. We had reservations & we were seated immediately. Once we ordered, our food was out quickly & our desserts soon followed. Our server Samuel was knowledgeable, attentive & personable. Everything we ordered was fantastic! There are plenty of dishes to choose from on the menu. We all ordered something different & cleaned every plate! It was such a light, flavorful meal. My friend loved the Salmon & the Steak Salad had a great review. I ate the J'adore Chicken Sandwich & I loved the flavor combo. I definitely recommend ordering desserts because they were phenomenal. The Crème Brûlée was everyone's favorite & the Pot De Crème was so tasty. I suggest making a reservation since the dining area is limited. read more

Me and hubs were super excited to try this restaurant that has been the talk of the town. Sadly, it did not live up to the expectation. We visited for lunch on a Thursday around 12:40p. Upon entry, we had to address the only server to be seated. The server was nice, but we waited nearly an hour for the food (hamburger and fries & steak sandwich and fries). Hubs enjoyed his hamburger, which was at least 6oz., and while the steak sandwich was okay... it wasn't hot. Likewise, our fries were lukewarm and looked like they were the leftovers twice fried. Hubs ate it all, because he was hungry! I will say the star of the day was the aioli on the sandwiches (LOL). Add one drink and a dessert for a $50 lunch, and overall it just didn't feel worth it. read more

Some people think that if they are charged a hefty price for their food, it must be good...not the case at Allard's. Their prices are high for what you get. This was our 2nd time at Allard's, my wife's third. I only went the 2nd time because our friends really wanted to go there (I had issues the first time). First, they do not serve complementary bread, which most offer. We ordered escargot and shared it. We all agreed it was dry and overcooked. The brioche appetizer was good. My wife got the scallops and I got the pork, both of which were good, not great. My one friend got the lobster for $38, which she said was small (no side included). Our other friend got the steak salad which he liked. Side items are not included with most meals (steak, fish, hamburger, lobster, etc.), so that will be another $9-12 each. The ambiance is OK but not a cozy atmosphere. Service was good but not outstanding. But trust me, we will not go back again, even if urged by our friends, but I think they were not happy either. There are plenty of other "nice" restaurants in the area that have better food and better prices (my wife's and my dinners were $60 each which included two cheaper entrees plus tip, which included one appetizer and wine for me. My wife got water only. $142 total for the two of us, including tip). read more

I had no idea that this existed until Thursday night, and we made a reservation for two nights later. What a wonderful surprise! The restaurant is tastefully decorated. It's pretty in an upscale but non fussy way.Our server quickly greeted us and was friendly and professional. We asked her to tell us a little about the restaurant and she was enthusiastic and informative. She mentioned a few items that were sold out, none of which we had planned to order. We started with the Brie and caramelized onion tartlet, which was a sort of flatbread. Delicious. We also had the garlic prawns, which are served on crostini in a garlic broth. Also a big hit. For our entrees, my husband and I shared the wagyu tomahawk steak and au gratin potatoes and our friend enjoyed the chicken with mushroom sauce over mashed potatoes and spinach. All delicious. For dessert we had the creme brûlée and French press coffee. (They have several good dessert options, which is something I find lacking in the area.) They are not yet serving alcohol, but anticipate being able to do so very soon. I look forward to return asap to try the lunch and breakfast menu. I am so thrilled that they are here and encourage anyone searching high and low for very good food and service to give them a try. read more

Place looked OK. The menu in restaurant didn't match the on-line menu. We all looked at on-line menu because we were going to a play after dinner, (party of seven) some of us need time to decide. Very difficult to carry on a conversation when restaurant is full because of acoustics. The food? Big prices small portion. Nothing on my plate was hot even though we waited one and a half hours for our food which made us late for the play. Allard's is trying to be an elegant high end restaurant and failing. Because we were a party of seven a tip of 20% was added to the bill. Hudson is not the venue for Allard's, even if it was good. read more

It started with flys every where. Then the service was very slow. Took over an hr. To get our food. Then when getting it, it was cold and bland. My husbands water wasn't filled once. It was way over priced. I would not recommend to anyone.. I wouldn't even remember the name. read more

We went for lunch and shared a roast beef sandwich and the pork belly hamburger. Both were excellent. If you like coffee, I love that they give you your own coffee press full and it is sp good. We couldn't leave without dessert so we got a cheesecake to go and 2 ham and cheese pastry's for the next morning's breakfast. We can't wait to go back and try dinner. read more

My family and I ate at Allard in late December 2024. I had the fillet mignon and shrimp gnocchi. Both were excellent!! Restaurant was beautifully and tastefully decorated for Christmas. We had heard about their grilled cheese of France, so we stopped in. The food was excellent! Between the three in our party we had the grilled cheese sandwich of France, the chef's burger, and the pork belly burger, and had reg and truffle fries on the side. We all shared and there was nothing but praise from three picky eaters! The atmosphere was calm and inviting, and our waitress, Megan, was informative, friendly, and attentive!
