I'm close to this golf course and I honestly enjoy it in all seasons (The city grooms cross country…read moretrails in the winter.). Sure the greens and fairways can be a little rough but for the most part, they play really well. It's not as expensive as other courses so that is going to increase you getting paired up with other golfers. That Peter dude complaining about "paying extra" just didn't happen. Unless you pay for 4, you're gonna get paired up. My wife worked there for a couple of summers. I'm personally a fan of the clubhouse though. They offer drink specials and like others have said, it's a great spot to sit in the shade on the deck and watch other people shooting on to the green. We both have cheered when people have made nice shots. The food, nothing really to write home about but that is more about staffing issues. The city leases this place out to a management company and they are the ones running it.

I've always enjoyed Como golf course. It's an interesting course with a good deal of variety. First…read morethere are some wide and forgiving holes for golfers like me who play Army golf. (That's when you hit the ball left, left, left, right, left.) Then there are some elevation changes (hills) to test your skill getting the ball up off the grass. And the back nine has some narrow holes with tricky water hazards and narrow approaches that will test the most experienced golfer. Hole 18 ends on a wavy green if you survive the hidden approach and the perfectly placed and largely hidden creek water hazard. Holes 18 and 15 are my favs because in Classic golf form, these are picturesque holes that can be mastered only when you know what's coming (played at least once previously) and you bring your A game. They have a large clubhouse. Lots of standard fare and presently a solid tap selection not surprisingly featuring Saint Paul's own Summit beer and a few others too. Also the place has a fantastic outdoor patio deck so worth a stop even if you are not golfing today. Fore!

They are absolutely awesome! I have been going there for about 3 or 4 years. I mentioned to them…read moreabout having severe PTSD and cannot tolerate pain whatsoever. They made sure and did excellent job with numbing gel and Novacane. They told me that if at any point whatsoever that I feel uncomfortable, they will be more than happy to take a brief time out and also do more numbing. I found that the people who do my cleaning where senior students who were getting closer to graduation. In my opinion, you could tell that they really cared a lot about doing a great job. If they don't do a great job, they don't get good grades or graduate. And they are closely monitored by Senior dentists with a ton of experience. And even though Senior dentist have a fantastic bedside manner, if you will. One of the senior students was Gretchen. I'm sure she'll be graduating soon and you may not be able to schedule her. However, I continually told Senior staff that she did a stellar job of keeping me calm, keeping me from a feeling any pain, and doing a superb job with the cleaning itself. I also had Dr Li do a root canal on one of my front teeth. It was a tricky problem. He tried twice from the bottom and it did not work. So, we had to go from the top (through the gums) into the tooth, doing a root canal that way. I was completely and utterly terrified that I would be in horrific pain. He and his assisting staff made me unmeasurably calm and relaxed, and I did not feel a single thing of pain the entire time. I can only tell you that I have had an absolutely fabulous experience from cleaning, to having surgery, their bedside manner, professionalism, and all things in between. Do NOTE: they do not have the nitrous oxide gas at the school. I'm not sure exactly why but you should know this. HOWEVER - you should also know that I almost did not go there because I have always required having gas with my severe PTSD. I am certainly glad that I did choose to go there, because they did an absolutely amazing job in helping me feel calm, and I was being professionally cared for buy a very positive and friendly staff. I cannot recommend them enough.
