Came in late and we were looking for a perfect place. We had the best burgers, sisig sandwich and hot dog. Loved my dirty martini. Bartender was pretty awesome and welcoming. It's not quiet place but best bar vibe in Brooklyn!

Bars are often just bars. If you've got a room with beer and booze and bartenders, it's enough to get people to come hang out. And it can even be a good one, if you've got nothing but the three Bs, as long as they are quality. But when you add some extras, you can make a bar truly great. Anchored Inn has a few things that make it GREAT. 1. Surprisingly delicious food. Their menu is accessible but with a few interesting twists, and everything I've tried has been of almost shockingly high quality. The burgers are essentially perfect bar burgers, but gussied up with a very welcome charred scallion aioli. I like that you can get an actual good salad instead of fries if you want. The chicken fingers are actually crispy lemongrass chicken bites, with a fish sauce spiked chili lime dipper that is salty and pungent and awesome. And the nachos are the real deal. 2. Great bartenders. Except this one guy who I think hates me. Probably because of my face. I'm not a big fan of it either, guy. 3. Good music. Not as metal as you may have seen advertised (thankfully), but a rock and roll vibe for sure. 4. Interesting and funky decor. Think weird paintings of historical figures, fun nautical gear (fits the name of the place), the odd skull. All of it is good for when you're stuck chatting with someone you don't care to chat with, and want to look around. I like this place. Even if it was just the food and the booze, I'd like this place.

This place rules. Great food, solid drinks. Drinks can be a little overpriced, but the food is killer. Had the Sisig chopped cheese ($14) last time I was there with fries and a side of charred scallion aioli. It's a banger.

Cute place. Cheap drinks. $7 drafts $11 cocktails $1 mozzarella sticks $2 bags of chips. Good for a casual date or night out with your buddy for pre-gaming.

Came here to get a very late night bite to eat with a friend of mine and he suggested Anchored because, well it was the only option that late in the evening. We walked in and sat down at a table just in time, the kitchen was closing and the bartender who came around to us said it was last call for food. My buddy said we needed to get the Carmen fries to split and we each got the cheeseburger and I got the salad. I honestly wasn't expecting much, dive bar, late night but those fries were delicious, hit so many notes for late night eating. The cheeseburger was ok, decent simple burger. Why such a low rating? Well, as soon as I got back to where I was staying I basically sprinted to the bathroom as soon as I unlocked the door. Man, it was a close one.

Looking for a great late night, or anytime to eat spot, this is it, and the name says it all. No tvs, just a straight social lounge with a good collection of music and good eats, as I like to say. Tacos were good; light, flavorful and just about all you could ask for in a traditional taco. Brussels were nicely done and just charred enough that it brought out the flavor without tasting burned. But, the Carmen fries are an example of loaded fries on overload, queso, cheddar sauce, bacon, scallions and chipotle mayo, and with no offense to the French I can't do mayo on fries but chipotle mayo . I'm sold! Go visit

I have a weakness for kitsch! I love the under the sea theme, velvet paintings and rocker clientele. I moved to NY from Seattle and it definitely reminded me of home. They also have a great front patio. And it is also connected to a pretty cool venue, Acheron next door. All drafts are 4 bones during happy hour! I was personally happy to find a pretty delicious salad for 6 bucks. It was a romaine salad with radishes, pumpkin seeds, thinly sliced radishes, cotija cheese and a chile vinegarette. It was refreshing and just what I wanted during the NY heat wave.

The music is at a low enough volume that you can hear your conversations, it doesn't get too crowded so you can spread out, even if you're in a large group. Downstairs, it's a lot tighter, with a DJ, dance floor, lounge seating area, and a much more packed and busy atmosphere on the weekends. I like ping ponging between both vibes when I'm with friends. Admittedly I've found the music both times to be too experimental for me. Confessing that makes me feel like an old person shaking my fist or at least shaking my head, misunderstanding what makes the youth tick. But I had no trouble twirling around the dance floor to this weird experimental music after throwing back a few tequila sodas upstairs. A few times while here my friends have split up into the group that wants to go downstairs to dance and the group that wants to stay upstairs and chill. It's relatively easy to navigate between both vibes, which I enjoy about this spot very much.

When we saw "Water Tower" on the elevator we decided to press it. SO GLAD WE DID. We landed at the Water Tower and walked into a fairly empty space decorated with art all the way to the ceiling, filled with natural light coming in and the views of the skyline were out of this world. We had to try their drinks of course to enjoy with the incredible view. Though the drinks are $21 and served in a plastic cup that evening, I was NOT expecting my drink to be this insanely delicious. I ordered the inferno Paloma which they infuse themselves with- and it was true perfection. By the way, each bar has their own menu which is pretty awesome and makes it even more fun. Also, Axel is the most incredible bartender and we absolutely loved his creations. Later that night we ordered a custom mandarin margarita, with a spicy twist, and WOW. He's truly talented and absolutely made us some awesome drinks that we can't stop talking about. Sunset with a view and a spicy mezcal drink? Yes and YES. We had this place all to ourselves and can't wait to be back. Friday nights they have DJ nights and you can also book the Water Tower for your own private events which is pretty cool!

For apps, we got the curry crab gyoza which was a very small portion (6/10) and the roasted mushroom truffle flatbread which was the highlight of the meal (8.5/10). For mains, we tried the biang biang Rasta noodles with salmon (6/10) and the sofrino roasted chicken (5/10). Both were a bit underwhelming. I've heard their drinks are great but we didn't try any. The Sweet Potato Beignets with hot honey & parmesan were definitely interesting--sweet, savory, and a bit unexpected. Not my favorite item of the night, but still worth trying if you like unique flavor combos. The BK Sliders (3 pc) were solid: thick applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, Russian dressing, and pickle on mini brioche buns. Simple, satisfying, and nicely done. The real standout though was the Calamari with shichimi pepper, jalapeño, lime zest, and herbal dipping sauce--absolutely amazing. Crispy, flavorful, and the seasoning had just the right kick. Easily the best dish we ordered. Service was friendly and the atmosphere made it easy to linger. Overall a great experience, and I'd definitely come back--especially for that calamari and another hot toddy.

It is too bad Yelp doesn't allow half stars as I would honestly put this one at a 3.5 and am rounding up. While the quality of the elevated seafood bites is immaculate, they are just that: a bite or two of food, for an elevated price considering the amount of food you get. After spending $76 a person, we were still hungry, whereas that amount would have been enough to feed two average women at another good restaurant. But if you go with an expense account or trust fund baby, definitely get the scallops and the yellowtail pastrami because those two items will blow your mind. Our waitress pointed these two out to us and we're grateful for her guidance because it was spot on. Paying for bread at a Solomonov joint is odd. No dessert menu is odder. Wheelchair access details: The bar is on a terrace. The accessible entrance is through the Hoxton hotel. A staff member will take you through the k'far kitchen and up via a service elevator. No barriers once you are upstairs and plenty of accessible outdoor and indoor/outdoor options, including a small length of wheelchair height bar.
