I was looking to grab a drink before hopping onto the G train and stumbled into here. The space was packed on a Saturday night, but we found a corner of the bar to hang out at. They also have two pinball machines for $1 each, which was entertaining for a bit. I ordered an Old Fashioned, which was pretty strong. They also have a kitchen with good variety of menu items. One of my favorite bars in Williamsburg may be H&H. This place has a lot of pluses. They serve delicious food from Dog Day Afternoon, have a happy hour every day from 4 to 8 pm, and are conveniently close to the train station, to mention a few. The service is consistently great. I never had any trouble finding a seat at the large bar. There aren't many negative aspects of this place that I can think of. In comparison to many bars, their pricing are really affordable. They have excellent draft cocktails. I enjoy their draft Rusty Nail and Negroni. They have a great gimlet and ice box martini (I get it dirty). They charge about $7 for an extra large mug of Kirin. Their menu offers a wide variety of choices. All things considered, this is undoubtedly one of the best bars in the area. Despite my repeated visits, it never lets me down. Don't forget to sample Dog Day's onion rings, frito pie, and Chicago Dog. read more

I came here on a Saturday night around 9pm for drinks. It was more crowded than I anticipated, but there were seats at the bar and a few open tables. Drinks were standard. There were a lot of non-alcoholic options, which is great, and the bartenders were friendly. The space is cute and cozy. The only thing that wasn't ideal was that in the small side room, it was incredibly difficult to converse due to the accoustics. Nothing to really be done about that except to avoid sitting in that area when it's crowded if possible. read more

I have been to H&H Reserve a number of times. It's related to another bar in the area (Temkin's), which I also love. The space is a big square, with a good amount of table seating, and bar seating as well. The menu is quite large but also cheap for the area, with a lot of good happy hour deals. They also have a small amount of food, which you order in the back. I've gottne the vegan chili dog a number of times, and it's great! I really like this bar. Such a great bar and I loved that they even had decent food to add to our drinking! The hot dogs were delicious and the drinks were cold and yummy. I love that the vibe felt slightly older, atleast it was on the day that we came, which I very much appreciated. There was plenty of space for both standing and seating. H&H Reserve is definitely a great spot if you're craving a large glass of beer. They offer $6 XL cups of Kirin Lager. The beer was pretty flat that night but for $6 I'm not even complaining. I also ordered a $7 Frito pie which they handed out to me in a small paper cup. I wouldn't recommend getting this item since it 1) it came out in a small paper cup and not a Frito chip bag 2) the price point is unreasonably high in relation to the portion you receive. H&H Reserve does have great candle lit booths that are comfortable and wonderful for conversation. I will say the noise pollution can get crazy if there are a lot of people. read more

If you are purchasing anything outside of the limited menu then you will be disappointed. On top of that they gave us the wrong credit card back when we left. We could've run the poor man's tab but instead when we found the mistake we went all the way back to give the card back. Meanwhile they ran a whole tab on our card because of their mistake. We will have to deal with Capital one in the morning. Incompetence at its finest. The bouncer was itching for a fight event thought the bartender was in the wrong. Drinks terrible and service even worse. If you come here expect the worst and hope for the best. Go to Barcade 1 block up and have a better time with better drinks and better memories! 0 out of 10. Came here for lunch at 1:30 on a Thursday and was very pleased with the food and the service. The schnitzel sandwich is delicious and is of a large portion size. It was tender and spicier than expected (in a good way). I really appreciate being able to enjoy schnitzel without leaving the neighborhood and without having to pay an exorbitant price, which would be the case at a high end Austrian restaurant. The fries are excellent, some of the best I've had in a while. The consistency is crispy and soft; like the ones you get at Yankee stadium except without the garlic Parm. One thing to note: you order food at the counter, not from your bartender. At the counter, they will give you a buzzer like one you would get at a Cheesecake Factory or other chain restaurant. Then you order drinks from the bartender (it was Clarice this afternoon, I think; very nice and friendly). The ambiance is classed up a little bit from its Sugarburg days, though the semicircular booths remain. There is now a standing only bar-height table to the side which encourages intermingling. I was sad to learn that the former neighborhood staple Sugarburg was closing. I didn't know why and it seemed that it happened out of no where! Regardless, time goes on and there's a new player in this space. H&H took the former Sugarburg and created a more seamless theme throughout the space. Part casual bar, part group hang spot, part semi-high end bar this spot seems to tick all the boxes for a great hang in the area. It's a different vibe than rock a rolla and union pool but it adds variety in the neighborhood with it's cleaner feel than the other bars in the area. There's a smaller beer selection but you get your money's worth with a six dollar large pint for lager. Staff here is friendly and there's ton of seating space within the bar. I'd definitely come here if you're looking for a more elevated bar experience with your friends! read more

Saw that a new bar & food spot opened up here and was excited for the possibility of chili cheese (really miss Tommy's chili cheese from LA) and decided to head over on a slow Monday afternoon. The food is in a booth in the back separate from the bar operated by Dog Day Afternoon, which is dope. Quite good chili cheese fries and chili cheese dog Ngl!! Really filling and tasty. Also paired with either happy hour drinks or normal drinks, this place is extremely well priced considering how much you get. Ie a beer shot HH is like 7 or something And an XL beer can be as cheap as like 6 if I remember correctly. Considering where this is in Williamsburg, it's so great! Not only did they ignore my call for service at the bar, in which I was sitting, but the bartenders did that for 4 hours. Initially, I thought nothing of it, but after the first hour of mistreatment other attendees noticed as well and even complained on my behalf. They also committed fraud. I've been to this bar before and it's been great until a horrendous experience with the bouncer last night (Saturday 2/24/24). I took a hit of my vape and he told me not to again so I stopped. I continued the night and did not vape, chatted with friends in a corner, and used the bathroom. In mid conversation with a friend he came over, hovering over me, and said "If you were a guy I'd throw you out right now." I was shocked and didn't say anything and he said "don't look at me that way, you know what you did. I told you to stop and you still vaped and then went to the bathroom to do it. You know what you did." He went on and on while my friends and I stood there not saying anything. He took me off guard which made me upset so I quietly left crying. It was humiliating and degrading. I would have preferred he throw me out (like he claimed he would do to a man) than publicly shame me. I understand it was disrespectful to vape but I stopped and he didn't have to handle it that way. read more
