This is a beautiful B&B. It is exceptionally clean. The owners are very welcoming. There are fresh home-made cookies in the parlor with tea or soda. Their home-cooked breakfast is fantastic. They had Belgium waffles with fresh berries and homemade whipped cream on the first day. The next day they had made-to-order omelets with potatoes and poppyseed bread. Our suite had a lovely sunroom, a claw foot bathtub, was clean and was decorated beautifully. It is in walking distance from downtown which is another nice feature. I'd never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, so I can't say how the Angler's Inn compares to other B&Bs or whether excellent service, gracious hospitality, and delectable breakfast is the norm. What I can say is that staying at the Angler's Inn was like staying at a friend's house - it was comfortable, clean, and safe. The wide front porch, complete with cushioned swing and potted plants, beckons you to come sit a while. The parlor, a common area with cozy sofas, was stocked with cookies, books on various subjects, magazines, sodas and ice, and a variety of tea bags and hot water. The Fenwick room was well-appointed: the sheets were soft and smelled freshly laundered, the towels were white as snow and as fluffy as fresh powder, and the en suite bathroom contained both a claw foot tub and lavender bath milk. Debbi, the Angler's Inn's owner and chef, is friendly, funny, and informative. She's a whiz in the kitchen, offers helpful suggestions about local trails, restaurants, and historic sites, and repository of information about local events, politics, and hot topic issues. Debbi is solicitous, but tactfully so, which I credit to her 20-plus years of experience running a B&B - she is good at gauging whether you are up for a chat or want to be left alone. As I had never stayed at a B&B before, I was worried that it would involve awkward interactions with the owner and/or other guests. These worries proved to be ill-founded as I genuinely enjoyed my interactions with both Debbi and the other guests. The Angler's Inn is centrally located between Harpers Ferry's Lower Town, where you can find the train station, the National Historic Park tours, and several historic buildings, and Harpers Ferry's upper town/Bolivar, where restaurants and stores mingle with residences, churches, and historic buildings along the main street. It's also a couple buildings over from the Appalachian Trail Conservancy headquarters, which is worth a visit. For folks who want to visit without a car, this is an ideal location as the inn is a short (albeit steep) walk up from the train station and in walking distance from trails, restaurants, and historic sites. TL;DR: 10/10 would stay here again. read more

What a great place the service the staff and the owners very friendly and knowledgeable of what Harpers Ferry has to offer. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed the gourmet breakfast created in the morning & and the afternoon tea or coffee with homemade fresh cookies was amazing and a great treat to a long day after hiking. The owner will help set up a massage for studio down the street will provide you great locations for dinners and great entertainment for the area. The rooms are quaint and cozy for a small home and a bed-and-breakfast. A terrific place in a sleepy historic village. We stayed for two nights recently had thoroughly enjoyed it.. Super comfy bed, great atmosphere, quaint furnishings, super clean and an absolutely stellar hostess, Debi! As a hostess she was wonderful and as the maker of our breakfast she was phenomenal! I should have written this review months ago (Sept.) this place is the absolute best EVER!!!! Seriously, Debbie went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely memorable. My mom and I share a birthday, we decided to leave the family and do just us for this one and I choose the Angler's Inn for her and fell in love with it myself. We stayed in the McKenzie Suite, the decor is lovely and so comfortable, this really helped my mom as she has rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. The shower had a lovely seat for her to sit while she washed up and the bed was absolutely amazing. There is a small room with a couch that allowed us to talk and have tea time, without been in the bedroom. The Inn is walking distance from the town, again even for my mother with all her ailments, slow pace but doable. If you're healthy it would not be an issue. Debbie was the cherry on top, she made us an amazing breakfast with lemon/peach pancakes, fruits with fresh juice and coffee. She even brought out two muffins with birthday candles for me and my mom and sang us a Happy Bday. My mom almost cried and I had to hold back my tears of pure joy, my mom was soooo incredibly happy. It may have seemed something small but to us it meant the world. It was our first Birthday together and alone without our dysfunctional family. Both my mother and I almost died the day I was born, but we survived and were able to have this amazing experience and I am so grateful to Debbie, who made it incredibly special and memorable. We have a special place in our hearts for the Angler's Inn, thank you for making my mother and myself so happy. We will definitely be back! read more

The breakfast alone got it five stars. My boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to Harper's Ferry and decided to stay at the Angler's Inn. The room was great. We booked the Remington Room which was gorgeous and much larger than it looked on the website. We had our own bathroom and a sitting room full of windows. The bed was comfortable and CLEAN. Before leaving, we checked under the bed to make sure we didn't lose anything, and there wasn't a spot of dust ANYWHERE. I was impressed. Back to the breakfast. The #1 reason to choose Angler's Inn. Debbi makes a large homemade breakfast for each guest every morning. As an example, one day there was an amazing cobbler AND lemon ricotta pancakes AND bacon AND homemade bread AND coffee AND orange juice. This was truly the most delicious breakfast I have ever had in my life and I have not stopped talking about it. There is also a parlor in the house which is stocked with games, tea, homemade cookies, and a wine opener (which was key because we brought a bottle of wine but forgot the opener). I hear they also host fishing trips. We do not fish but, based on how great the B&B was, I'd recommend at least trying it if you're into fishing! read more

Great two night stay at the inn. Breakfast was very good - French toast, scones, bacon, sausage strata. The inn is quaint. We stayed in the Fenwick suite which was comfortable and roomy. My husband and I and his grandparents stayed here for the weekend. We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts and this is by far one of our best experiences. Deb and her husband were accommodating, friendly and were the perfect hosts. Our rooms were charming and clean, the bed comfortable and the food was to die for. Amazing experience! Debbie was such a wonderful host, and she cooks the best breakfasts I think I've ever had! She was incredibly knowledgeable about what the area had to offer. Her husband is a master fisherman and offers tours as well. The inn had the perfect amount of "angler": the theme was fishermen, but it wasn't overwhelming with it, very subtle and modern. The only concern I had was that the bathroom tub was lifted so high that it was a bit dangerous stepping out onto the floor if you weren't very careful, but Debbie did warn us of this upon showing us the room (I stayed in the Remington room). Other than that, l had a wonderful stay. The bed was comfortable, the room even had a side reading room with plenty of windows and natural sunlight. It was great to sit on the porch and chat with other patrons; the inn offers a very comfortable and welcoming environment for everything. read more

I recently stayed here and enjoyed it very much. I've stayed at plenty of B&Bs and this was definitely one of the better places I've visited. The place itself is very nice & the Fenwick Room was fantastic. Debbi was a great hostess and the breakfast was far from the simple, meager fare offered by many places. I'm an avid fisherman and also visited her husband's shop, White Fly Outfitters, and very much look forward to returning for a longer stay and a guided fishing trip. read more

What a quaint and delightful treasure!! We stayed in the McKenzie room. Best water pressure shower you'll ever have. Loved having the porch with private entrance. Have stayed at the Angler's Inn on two different fishing trips, and the place amazing. Quiet and comfortable, and within a reasonable walk to all of Harpers Ferry. Breakfast is always tasty, and if you like to fish, their guides are great. read more

This quaint bed and breakfast was a nice retreat from Washington yet still close. We took the Amtrak train out from DC (very easy and inexpensive) and arranged to be picked up at the train station. The house is historic looking and nicely decorated. Each room is more of a suite with an attached sitting room. Cookies and non-alcoholic drinks are available in the parlor. Breakfast was a treat from pumpkin pancakes to made to order omelets. The rooms do not have a TV, but they do have free wireless Internet. I think this is the perfect combination. The owners are very nice and helpful. They also offer fishing tours (thou we did not take one). There are a selection of board and other games available to use. The location is about 3/4 of a mile from the historic Harper's Ferry lower town, so not quite in town and a little bit of a walk. Some other popular B&Bs are even further away. If you will be walking to town at night, I would suggest bringing with you (or asking for) a flashlight since the sidewalks between Angler and Harpers Ferry are only slightly lit. The owner Debbie called me a B--I-T-C-H to her husband when she thought she had the phone covered when she did not when I called to try and make a reservation. Unbelievable!! When I confronted her on it, she appologized profusely and admitted it was unprofessional but the damage was done. They basically oversold their Living Social deal to use this on a weekend before April 30th and instead of telling me their availability, they kept on making me pick weekends just to tell me no. I asked if they would be willing to extend the expiration date and they said no. She and he husband Brian Kelly were so condescending and unbelievably RUDE!!! He had the gall to tell me it was my poor planning, and that I should have called earlier. He felt the need to educate me on what conversations were supposed to be like, but he forgot that he wife had just called me a curse word! No apologies--just overall appaling. I would never set foot on this property if they paid me. I called Living Social and they refunded me immediately. Based on the reviews it might be a nice place to stay, and the owners may seem nice, they they are extremely two-faced and difficult to deal with. Stay away!! read more
