We picked Dave because he had good reviews. He diagnosed our "squeeky" dryer problem by listening to a recording, ordered the parts, and came as soon as they were available. He knew what he was doing, and was able to quickly replace all the worn parts but one. That part turned out to be low quality, and he had to spend extra time to come up with a suitable solution. David was able to provide same day service for my refrigerator. He returned my call quickly and arrived on time for the scheduled appointment. He was able to diagnose the issue and advised me of my options of repairing vs replacing. Unfortunately, my compressor was the problem and he does not work on sealed systems but was able to advise me of a reputable repair company and gave me a general idea of the expected cost. He also recommended a couple of businesses to purchase a new appliance if I decided to go that route. I ended up buying a new refrigerator from one of his recommended businesses and saved a ton of money and was able to get it installed same day. I will definitely call him again if I need any other service on my appliances. read more

Highly recommend David Bates (the Appliance Surgeon). Our 3 year old GE dishwasher stopped heating the water and wasn't cleaning well. We called an appliance repair company in Charlotte (in the "Plaza" area) and was told "dishwashers don't heat the water." When I tried to explain that ours had a "sanitize" function that did boost the water temperature, he still argued that it didn't heat the water. So I found the Appliance Surgeon. David came out the next day, diagnosed a faulty board and flood switch, ordered the parts, and fixed it like new. Water is back to high temp as before and dishes are clean again. Definitely will use him for any issues in the future. read more

My washer was making weird noises so I called the Appliance Surgeon. He came out quickly and on time to help us. He told us exactly what was wrong and what to expect. In the end we requested he just do a temporary repair as the actual fix was going to be too much for what the machine was worth. It's still working with the temporary fix. David has been to our house twice, once for our dryer and once for our washer. Both times we were more than pleased with his service, professionalism, and honesty. Dryer needed a new heating element and he was kind enough to show me the old one as soon as he pulled it out to show me where it broke, he fixed it at an extremely reasonable price. Total price with parts was barely over another shops "diagnostic fee" and less than half of their quote and the other shop didn't even take the thing apart. When our washer started giving me the error code for not draining properly I knew that I could probably go in and clean out the blockages myself but was worried if something was actually wrong with the pump. Because David is so reasonable I did not even have to sweat it and just called him and he was over that afternoon. He cleared the washer out and we were good to go. Will never call anyone else to service our appliances! read more
