This banquet hall is located in the same plaza as Zauq, which is a couple of stores down. Parking can be extremely busy, so it was recommended to carpool with colleagues. I drove my intern over here. We had no problem finding a parking spot steps away from the main entrance. The banquet hall is pretty. Flowers in vases greet you. We had a check-in reception area a few steps away from the main entrance. Our office has roughly 200 people. We all fit in nicely at Empress Hall. It had huge, round tables that were nicely decorated. There were a couple of Lindt chocolates for each guest. Nice! Meals were buffet-style. I chose the perfect table. Ours was one of the first ones called by number to hit the food lineup. Yay! The food is mostly Italian. I enjoyed the penne pasta with veggies. I loved the roasted chicken with mushroom sauce. There were veggies. The round roasted potatoes were so good. There was also an eggplant parmigiana for folks who requested a vegetarian meal. Our manager said to the female server that he wasn't a vegetarian, but wanted one. She denied his request, which was kind of funny, but made sense. The food was yummy. I was stuffed, but wanted dessert. I went overboard with my plate of sweets. I got two freshly baked cookies. They were the best and tasted homemade. I also indulged in chocolate cake, a Portuguese egg tart, and carrot cake. To make it look like I was eating healthy, I got some cantaloupe slices, to balance my guilt out a bit. We had pitchers of water and Coke at our table. I tend to drink Diet Coke, as regular Coke is too sweet. This pitcher was watered down that I was good with it. I was probably the only person who drank it. There was juice, coffee, and tea behind us. I got this fruity juice drink that was yummy. We had games and raffles afterwards. This hall is roomy for all these activities. We were supposed to have a dance. I have a feeling that we had all eaten so much that we simply couldn't budge. There are two sets of washrooms for men and women at this banquet hall. They were clean and the mirrors were big. It was a perfect venue for our Christmas party. My team had a ton of fun. It's a good seven-minute drive from work, which is a bonus. (471)

I think the main attraction is that it is cheap to host an event. The food is ok and the service is meh. Washrooms I will not even comment! For whatever reason, I am at the banquet hall at least twice a year on my family's request. Yay for me. I would recommend other banquet halls in the area versus this one.

From the very beginning, working with the Roma's team was a joy. We dealt mostly with Joseph and Ana, and Ana in particular went above and beyond for us. I am a detail person, and I came to her with well over a hundred questions throughout the planning process -- she answered every single one with patience, warmth, and impressively quick turnaround. Her responsiveness took so much stress off our shoulders and gave us complete confidence that our reception would run smoothly. And it did. We researched many venues before booking, and Roma's offered the best value for the price by a wide margin. The space itself is stunning -- so beautiful that it genuinely needs very little decoration to shine. Everything came together looking elegant and polished, exactly the dream we had envisioned. The food was wonderful, too. Our guests were able to choose between steak, chicken, and a vegetarian option, and our guests especially raved about the chicken dish in particular. There was a spot for the cocktail reception with a full bar, a smaller bar and a small hot-table area where the bride and groom had hot appetizers. There was also lots of friendly staff with hors d'oeurves. I found the bar and serving staff to be very professional and polite in general. The set up of the dining room was fantastic, with a great dance floor as well as neat lights and a stage. They also had two video screens (one at each end of the room) which could show videos by the bride and groom, or a feed from the security cam, so you could get a good look at what was happening on stage or on the dance floor. Very cool. Great dance floor and clean bathrooms, where I saw staff cleaning up throughout the night. I thought this was a great touch, as hundreds of people can really mess up a bathroom. Lots of parking. The only downside was that they didn't have a nice outdoor area if you wanted to smoke/just be outside to sit for a bit.

The other bartender (who had curly hair and looked really young) was, I assume, quite inexperienced. I asked him for a tequila sunrise and he gave me a sex on the beach. I ordered a shirley temple for my gf and he made me a bloody ceasar (which has tomato juice in it and isn't remotely similar to a shirley) LOOOOOOL. Had a good laugh. It was my first time being here and I was impressed with the venue and the service. The name, Parkview Manor, suggests something exotic or traditional, maybe like an old mansion. Instead, it was a rather plain looking grey building with a large parking lot, in the middle of an industrial area. It was clean and in good repair but really had no character to it. Stepping inside, however, told a different story altogether. The reception/bar area was a bit small and cramped, making it a little hard for all the guests to move around comfortably. The passed hors d'oeuvres were plentiful, with a decent variety but tasted a bit ordinary. The main banquet room, with the head table, dining tables, and dance floor, was very spacious and beautifully decorated, with intimate lighting. Our meal was very good, maybe even excellent! We started with soup and salad, both served tableside. The main course had a properly cooked piece of salmon, a very tender steak, potatoes, and veggies. Dessert was chocolate mousse tart and creme brulee, served alternately. Other than the dessert being a tad sweet for my taste, the food quality was good. Kudos to our server, who was very friendly, engaging, and efficient! Having worked at one of the top banquet facilities in the GTA for ten years, the food and service here was top notch! Parkview Manor, like every other banquet hall, has a fairly boring exterior, but the inside is clean and well-presented with your typical banquet hall decor and chandeliers. TONS of parking, which is an advantage of being in a bland commercial area. The building is split into two areas so it's highly possible there are multiple events happening at the same time. Food, of course, is the number 1 priority as a wedding guest. As stated up front, the entree was bad. Really bad. The filet mignon was tough like leftover meat from boiled stew. The chicken, already expected to be underwhelming at a banquet hall, was especially bland. I suppose that's the risk of a 2-meat plate. But everything else made up for it, I think. The antipasto was plentiful and delicious, especially the smoked salmon and the giant parmesan cheese wheel. The dessert was a wonderful creme brulee. The oysters at the oyster bar were fresh and shucked before your eyes. Even the sweets table had some tasty cakes. Servers were quick and unnoticeable, which is a mark of a good banquet hall server. You don't want plates clanging against each other during a speech. The bottom line is I had a wonderful time here as a guest; food, service, and coordination being a huge part of that.
