If you like art and tabletop board games you gotta go to this. Dads been getting me to try D&D so I brought my family to the first and second Just the Basics figurine painting tutorial and it was great! Such a great deal! - The figures were provided they also provided paints to use and brushes you got to keep the figure and the brushes you use all for $5. It's like buying the figure and getting the paint class and brushes for free. The teacher Brandon was super funny and entertaining. He made relevent jokes and commentary during the steps, while also going over process and purpose during the session. Also very patient, he let everyine go at their own pace. I brought my son and they were super supportive and let him help us paint too. After everyone started packing up my friends got sets of dice and I started picking up paint. My other half is super supportive of my new hobby and says he's planning to use it on his next adventure.

Was recommended to check this place out by a Target employee when I went in to purchase the game Cards Against Humanity, if you've never played you should definitely check it out. Walked in and was surprised to see walls of games that I had never seen before. If you're a game junkie you should come check this place out. One thing I did notice was that the prices were about $5 higher than your would pay in a retail store like Target or Wal-Mart. Then again, they carry games that you wouldn't find in stores like those so they're worth the price if your looking for a great gift for that game junkie friend or family member. Other than a place to buy cool games they have rows of tables you can come and play games at. Join in a game or start your own. If you love playing board games come check them out.

1st game of the day- Harry Potter.

I love everything about The Armchair Adventurer. Even the name of the store- how fitting! My first time here I actually came by for a gift certificate. My relative is an avid gamer and a gc seemed appropriate. Rob (the owner) knew my uncle, too. Rob is a very friendly guy who not only runs the place but is a gamer, too. When we first arrived he was sitting at one of the tables in the store playing something. There are a few tables inside and LOTS of tables and chairs outside. My family and I had a huge game day from morning 'til night. We took up 3 rows of tables but there were at least 10 more tables scattered around. There was a huge tournament that day (Saturday) that also ran the entire day. We brought beverages, food, and snacks and had a relaxing day. The area is labeled the "food court" but the only thing open was a Subway, and they shut down at 7. The coffee shop, little snack shop, and Chinese food place are only open on weekdays. There are no lines for the bathroom and not much foot traffic besides that of the gamers. Will be back next month :D

they have D&D Expeditions game nights as well as other knights (pun intended)

Fantastic selection of games and friendly staff. Plus it's open late almost every night. A real gem in the Dole Cannery.

Ask the Community - The Armchair Adventurer

What is the parking situation like? Where can I park my car to get here?

You can park in the Dole parking structure, street or in the Costco lot

Do people play MTG commander here? Going to be moving to Oahu soon and want to pick magic back up again.

Hi! MtG has a really good player-base on Oahu, with about half a dozen TCG stores and people playing every variant -- including Commander! That being said, I do not have any groups playing Commander at my store. Good luck with your move!

    Sell amiibos at the store?

I'm sorry, but we do not sell any collectible figures. Best of luck!

How is this shop for playing Warhammer 40k in shop?

Hi Devin! We always have tables available for play, and all of them are big enough to accommodate a WH40k game. You can usually just show up with a friend and play, but at busy times (like a Friday night) you might want to call first to make sure…

His friend has recommended, saying they offer more closer to value than the other location I was going to go to. He himself had sold cards here and was offered way more than other places. I'm so glad I came here. The guy was really nice. They were somewhat busy but he gave the option of grading cards for her and Venmo so we dont have to drive back! We got a great deal. She was super happy. Lots of parking as it's in a little shopping center. Where Chuck ECheese was. Definitely recommend coming here to sell (and buy) cards. Support local!

Her first Labubu was "eaten" by their Golden doodle last weekend. After we hung up she called back and invited me to go there today after her brother's baseball game. Sure I replied without hesitation. She had a friend sleepover so 4 of us entered and we purchased 6 Labubus. The exciting macaron is hidden in a box in a sealed bag, unseen so it's like the surprise and suspense keeps building up. Her friend wanted mine called Sesame, you could tell by the expression on her face...so I let her switch and exchanged it for her green monster. I had secretly wanted the light blue or light teal one I saw on the pop mart app. Even sweetie's mom wanted mine and said she'd switch it for her white one. I told them to Jan Ken Po. Hubs came along so when they said aloha charms next I gave the excuse I had to feed hubs since it was lunch time. I told hubs to put my Labubu in the trunk cuz I didn't want it to get dirty at a restaurant. After lunch as soon as we reached our car I asked hubs for my Labubu. As he passes it to me he says, you're just like a little girl... I'm going to take that as a compliment

Ideal808 partners with ToyLynx, so be aware. I had called to see if I can purchase the Marvel holiday pack the a day earlier than release on their website and pickup the same day, and the person on the phone said I could. Only to arrive, the rude employee told me he's unable to sell, and than he talked to his colleague(on slack on the spot), and he's colleague said he was under the impression if I just wanted to buy stuff online and pickup the same day, which isn't what I specifically asked for. So the employee tried to brush me off, a paying customer. 2) If you want to go to events: Don't. The same employee runs events and he's incredibly rude. Hes got a long grey goatee and long grey hair. Very disgruntled. He literally yelled at me because I couldn't hear him because of the event going on. He was clearly annoyed because he recalls me coming in the day before to try to buy the Marvel holiday gift box. 2.a) When I tried to enter the FNM, he told me to scan the QR code on the TV and follow instructions. He didn't tell me I needed an app to scan the QR code, luckily the nice lady next to me told me I needed to scan using the app. Once I did, the app informed me to go to staff to register me. As I approached the same disgruntled employee, I was trying to inform him that the app told me to see him, and he immediately just asked if my name was on screen, which it was(even before I scanned the QR), and replied saying yes, and he told me that I don't need to keep going up to the front and that I need to calm down and relax. I'm calm enough to not get tilted by a salty disgruntle worker, but this message is a reminder to him and others, of his attitude, and that I've seen other reviews of his work ethic. I wouldn't recommend attending any events from here.

She helped my 11-year-old son with the Warhammer tiny models, taking the time to explain everything needed to get started in painting. Her thorough and detailed explanations really made a difference. "Kaitlynn" was incredibly authentic and genuine - it's rare to find such dedication and care in customer service these days. I really appreciate her outstanding work and wanted to applaud her for it.
