SHOP LOCAL My friend and I went in to check out the latest from the heart news. He loves the Pokemon and I do too. When we were younger, we wanted to catch them all! ALL 151 of them! However, there are just too many now. I asked the clerk just how many are there? "OVER ONE THOUSAND" he said. GTFO! Who has the time and energy to organize and remember over 1000+ pokemons and pokewomons. NOT I. I WILL NOT, SHALL NOT, EVER START COLLECTING THEM I SAY! NEVER! However, I do have quite a bit of other cards from back in the day. I saw some protector sleeves. I thought to myself, I should really get organized with all my cards. My life is a wreck, my cards should not! However, I just thought I could find a cool book or something cheaper via the internet. My friend and I leave the store and he asks, "You never wanted to buy anything?" I told him my thoughts on buying something cheaper online and he replies "WHAT ABOUT SUPPORTING LOCAL!" and I'm like " F*** YOU ARE RIGHT!" We waltz back in there and I buy the sleeves. As I'm in the middle of the purchase I see individual Pokemon packs behind him. For nostalgia sake I tell the clerk "I'll buy one of those." Then he goes on to explain about a new box coming out which I can't buy yet and it's not available. I have no idea what he's saying and tell him I just want a Pikachu. So he hands me a bunch of cards from this one row or packs they had and I choose one. I suddenly felt this wave of nostalgia, I forgot how much I enjoyed this and the excitement / anticipation of finding out what you might get. I feel like a child again. We drive to our next fun adventure and I forget about the pack. My friend doesn't forget tho. He wants to see what I got. I tell him he can open it. We have a bunch of GAGAWAHOOs and CHIKANORIS and BABY BANDANAS... also a card called LATIAS, the female form of LATIOS... I think it's short for Fellatias and Fellatios... I don't know how to pronounce it. But we did find out that card was worth 150 dollars. WTF!? you got to be kidding me! And if it gets graded a 10 it might be worth 400 dollars... So I am now going to use that money to buy a high yielding dividend etf. And with each dividend I receive, instead of reinvesting back into the etf, I will buy one pack from "From the Heart'... That is if its available, I went back and they didn't have any single booster packs for sale.... What are the odds? In conclusion, I am now addicted and hope that someday, I will catch all 1000+ Pokemon. This is my origin story. Support Local, Don't do Drugs.

A MTG chase card that was pulled in From the Heart, over $1900 in value!

Awesome shop with an awesome team! I go to From the Heart Toys and Collectibles every week, and it's always a great experience. They have the best prices, fair deals, and everyone there is super welcoming. The selection is amazing -- they've got everything a collector could want. Tons of Funko Pops, plus a TCG lover's dream with sports cards, DBZ, One Piece, Pokémon, and more. Big thanks to the From the Heart team for always making it such a fun and memorable place to visit!

Shopping in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii... I was going to visit my aunt in the hospital and needed to bring an Easter gift. I looked inside the store at City Square called: From The Heart because it sounded like a gift or craft shop. There's a lot of free shared parking here! From The Heart is actually located in the building between Utage and Chuck E. Cheese. It's right next to the pet store. The merchandise at this shop includes Tokidoki items (like purses, backpacks, fanny packs, reusable folding bags, and tote bags), Sanrio characters, Funko Pop, Tsum Tsums, stickers, Squishmallows, trading cards, sleeves for trading cards, etc. Now I know where I can go if I need any of these items! Staff was very patient with a customer who had some kind of concern. One issue was English as a second language. Staff was very polite and efficient! Good job!

Kawaii overload... Here in Kalihi City Square Shopping Center to be exact is From the Heart which is popular ups at certain events is known for all things collectibles. Cards, character, mystery boxes and even Legos. I really care with the intention to browse since I was in the area but my roaming eye found the cutest item that I couldn't resist though most of them are gifts so I can't post images of them yet. So much things to see and the staff is very knowledgeable of every item and if you purchase a muster box and open it right there in the shop and discover that you don't like the item you do have the option to trade...these are from the same set and from other that have done so as well and depends on the availability and is a great deal considering you have options. Some sets do have the option to purchase without the mystery as well which is a great option though giving gifts takes that fun away so opted out in that...so the mystery remains. Thank you!

Read my message on Wednesday-- never responded (or text messages). A simple "no" would've sufficed the kine, you know?
    Khent C.

11/02 EDIT: Not the gaslighting response from the owner. Lmao. I also texted them the info they asked for and never responded 11/01: Someone wrote a review 3 years ago that they never reply to inquiries on social media. The business owner responded saying they'll "learn from it and make their services better" -------- fast forward 3 years later and they still do the same thing. Leaves you on read for days. Not even a courtesy response to say "no" or any of the kine. Pursue your hobbies elsewhere. Shameful that their aloha is nonexistent.

From the Heart located in the heart of KALIHI over at City square shopping center near Dilligham. Their shop is next to KALIHI PET STORE. Been coming here as of late in the last couple months to pick up some WAX WAX WAX (Sports cards) specially BASKETBALL CARDS, But they do have other sports like Baseball, Football, Hockey, NASCAR, Etc also they do of course have Pokemon cards etc (for all them pokemon fans) also they got FUNKO POP toys and other toys as well, I also bought these Lego style toys but it's not lego brand they're very nice if it is assembled together. Staff - The staff here at From the Heart shop is GOOD PEOPLES there always there to help you And if you got questions they'll try their best to answer it. Specially the owner of the shop his name is KEN such a cool guy. Parking - lots of parking so you don't have to worry about parking and best it is free of course. Would I recommend people to check out this Business- Yes OF COURSE I would specially if you on the hunt for sports cards COLLECTABLE toys from funko pop etc For me what I have bought here - mostly SPORTS CARDS from Basketball Blaster boxes and also Sports card Slabs. I also have friends that are into sports cards come here to buy sports cards specially boxes that are high in price like $200+ and over. So if you looking for WAX WAX cards check them out in KALIHI "From the Heart" you won't get disappointed

Wow, Funkos-galore! From The Heart really does tug at your heart because this store sells so many Funkos as well as other toys and comic books that are current and some gems from when I was growing up many decades ago. From The Heart is located in the City Square Shopping Center in Kalihi along Dillingham Blvd. There's plenty of parking! There's also a From The Heart 2.0 with even more stuff located further down from the shopping center. If you need a specific and particular Funko Pop, and get a fair and excellent deal, then this is the place to come! There are just so many Funkos inside that you might miss what you're looking for. You can ask the staff. They're helpful and friendly. I came down on Black Friday for some deals on Funkos to buy as Christmas gifts for friends, and perhaps for myself if I found the particular ones I want. Sadly, I didn't find what I wanted at From the Heart, so I wandered down to From the Heart 2.0! There were more and even better deals at the 2.0 store. The staff is more friendly and helpful. I was lucky to find a few Funkos as gifts and one for myself. The prices were very fair. Overall, a good experience. When I first walked in these stores, it looked like they raided the two comic book stores in Kaimuki that recently closed for business; Gecko Books and Collector Maniacs. I seen many old toys that I remember seeing in those stores, which is great! After coming here, I now know where to go to find the specific Funko Pops I'd like to add to my collection. I wish From the Heart starts selling retro video games! From the Heart 3.0! I'll be there everyday!

However, be prepared to pay more than what you'd expect as other reviewers had pointed out - the prices are high for what these items really should cost, which sucks, but I believe there is a reason(s) for this. I purchased a small plush keychain, a tee, a magnet and a sticker and the cost was just over $90 - the cost of the tee surprised me the most as it's $55 and I was expecting this to be more in the $40-$45 range. The store is on the smaller side and even on a weekday afternoon after 3pm, it was packed. It's located at the end of the row of stores, adjacent to the side of the Royal Hawaiian where the Sheraton is. Staff at the store were nice and helpful with any questions that I had. Besides the plushies, they had a great selection of stickers as well as magnets and keychains. For decades, I was aware of how popular Miffy has been in Japan (my cousin in Japan had Miffy items since the 90's), but for the U.S., I feel it has become increasingly popular within the last 2-4 years or so. I'm not sure if it's possibly because the creator, Dick Bruna had passed away in 2017 and since then, licensing and the creation of more Miffy merch and collabs may have become more easier to come out with, at least that's been the speculation. Although I'm generally not a fan at all of Hello Kitty or Sanrio, nor do I particularly like rabbits, there is something about Miffy that does appeal to me more than Sanrio characters - likely the simple design and neutral expression on Miffy and that it came before Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty and its European vibes. Before this, I'd ordered a plush Miffy keychain from the Kira online shop in SF. The keychain ended up being much bigger than expected for me to place on a bag/backpack so I decided that I'd stop by this store during my few days in HI to see if I can find a smaller keychain and maybe a tee as I heard this is currently one of only two Miffy themed stores in the U.S., the other being Miffytown in Kentucky. I was hesitant on posting this review, but unfortunately this certain situation keeps on happening and I am not going to stand for it anymore. Me and my partner frequently go to this shop whenever we are wondering the mall, and almost every time we have gone and shopped, we are almost ALWAYS being watched... it is very disturbing and disappointing seeing that it seems like they are profiling us. Things to note about us: my partner ALWAYS wears small fanny packs, and me, a purse that is closed at all times. We wear casual clothes, and yet, they continue to stare at us, and follow us around the store. Of course, we had NO INTENTIONS of stealing, and yet them watching us makes us feel like criminals. There should not be an excuse of the employees being "too shy" because this is inappropriate behavior, and again, makes me feel very uncomfortable, leading me to my next point. I will no longer shop here again. The amount of times we have caught employees literally WATCHING US is unacceptable, especially since I have previously worked retail myself, and am always frustrated with theft as well, but just choosing random people to watch without any actual ques or a real reason is just disgusting. There are things that you are trained to watch for when you work in retail, and it seems like there is a lack of that. It makes me sad because I loved your products and what you had to offer, but I am sorry, if I can't shop here without being watched like a hawk, then I can just take my business elsewhere.
