The doctors here are terrible. Expect the most cursory exam possible, while having your questions dismissed.

He recommended me to the ENT which no other doctor has ever done other than hmm i dunno it doesn't look great in there, and turned out my fall caused me to have 10% breathing ability through my nose and no wonder i had so many issues. got my nose fixed and breathe so much better. My allergies and reactions to environmental issues get treated, great samples and recommendations for free prescriptions through discount cards to cover copays after insurance pays for the rest. Started my allergy shots which are covered by my insurance as well as my allergy testing panel which is also covered by my insurance - which i know because i reviewed costs with my insurance prior to requesting the tests. i also know what my deductible is which i covered and all injections free after that. When i need refills or changes to allergy meds they took care of it, when i had concerns about my asthma they referred me to a pulmonologist and i am now happy to have everything under control. These allergy injections will be great when i no longer need daily meds.

This 19 story steel & glass edifice is totally state of the art, particularly in terms of security and patient privacy. Kiosk check in required to reach the elevator launches, and video monitor interface when completing your doctor visit. Really quite remarkable. I met my cardiologist in a private room shortly after the physician's assistant completed the EKG, and had asked me all the standard questions to prepare me for the doctor who was there to review those results, ask follow up questions from our prior visit together and remind me to exercise regularly (I do) and add more potassium to my diet regimen. It was all very efficient and reassuring. We bumped fists as he left the room, and said he would see me next year (God willing). Although just around the corner from the old Jefferson Medical Center on 11th, this new 21st Century facility goes way beyond what the former place was capable of doing. The 9th floor of Honickman felt like the cockpit of a future rocket ship to the outer reaches of scientific medicine, rather than the farthest point the old technology could take us. I was ready for the new ride. 5 Stars for Jeff's vision of the future of medicine.

The initial diagnosis was Asthma, but then I also developed a Cardio Myopathy (enlarged heart). Instead of just referring me to a Cardiologist, Dr. Goldstein took special interest in my condition and worked diligently until I was correctly diagnosed. A year later I was eventually diagnosed with a rare blood cancer that effects 4,500 people in the US annually; Amyloidosis. I was most impressed with Dr. Goldman's listening skills and determination to keep searching to find the cause of the problem. I would have been lost without him. Thank You Dr. Goldstein,

I have had a lot of food allergy issues over the past ten years and I thought Dr. Moday was very thorough. I think the advice she offered me was patient-friendly and made sense. And the tests she ordered backed up everything she mentioned to me. The nurse was also good at showing me how to use the epinephrine auto injector in case I need it. I did end up waiting a bit for my appointment, but I think they spent plenty of time with me once I was back there, so I can't complain about that. My follow up appointment was decent and I have another appointment in two months. So far, so good.

Got there 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork like requested, as I was a new patient. Was called back to be seen by the medical assistant finally around 2:30p or so, great no problem. Talked to her for awhile but she told me to wait until I saw Dr. Gordon to show photos, and go in more detail about my issues. After talking with her for about 20-30 minutes she told me to hang tight and that doctor would be in to see me shortly. After waiting about 20 minutes alone in the examining room, the assistant came back in to tell me that the office was "just swamped that day" and that it might "be awhile" for the doctor to come in, so if I had somewhere to be I could leave and reschedule. My mom is an RN in a doctors office so based on how her office runs, I assumed "awhile" to be about 30 minutes--which was no big deal for me as I took the rest of the day off of work for the appt, so I opted to stay. Big mistake. Dr. Gordon didn't actually come into see me for about another hour and 10 minutes. I was just then about to walk out when finally the doctor came in around 4:30p for my 2:00p appt. Whatever, I understand that's the name of the game some times no matter how much it blows. She comes in and I give her a run down on my symptoms and what's been happening. She basically disregarded everything I was saying, especially once finding out that I travel often for work (and stay in hotels), finally allowed me to show the pictures I had taken to document everything (since I didn't have any hives at the time of appt), didn't attempt any testing or further inquiry and just insisted that they were bed bug bites. LOL. She then proceeded to tell me how to check for bed bugs in hotels (yes, I stay in hotels about 3x a week, but please tell me this as if I don't already know/practice it). I tried to challenge this possibility with some other information, to which was further brushed off, and again I was told condescendingly, that they were bed bugs. She then gave me a few sample packets of Zyrtec and sent me on my way. The whole "appointment" with the doctor lasted about 15 minutes. I promptly left as fast as possible by 17:00. 3 hours of my life completely wasted all to be told in 10 minutes that I have bug bites. And the kicker? The $164 bill that came in the mail for that literal joke of a doctor appointment. Oh, and in further news, I went home to Ohio to my normal doctor, was looked at properly, and was told I have mild Acute Urticaria (HIVES) most likely brought on by stress... NOT BED BUGS. So THANK YOU for the 164 dollar bill to literally waste my time. Find a different office.

I saw the exact same doctor mentioned in these reviews, and I have never felt so dismissed in my life. I will say that the front desk staff were very nice. I actually spoke with the sweetest person who had the most gorgeous silver jewelry and bright pink nails, and she made me feel really welcome. She was lovely. Unfortunately, once I got into the actual appointment, the experience completely changed. I came in trying to explain what has been going on with me because I am genuinely struggling and was hoping to finally get some answers and she made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by being there. I kept trying to tell her my symptoms and felt like I couldn't even get a real in depth response out from her. She was, without a doubt, the most dismissive doctor I have ever dealt with and yes she just wants to stick a scope down your throat. I wasn't even done reading the paper before she was already prepping me to get scoped and absolutely rushed me to sign. I left feeling like absolutely nothing I came in concerned about was actually addressed. I wasn't looking for special treatment or for someone to tell me something was wrong, I just wanted to be LISTENED TO and taken seriously. I walked into that office smiling, genuinely hopeful that I was finally going to get some help, and I left basically bawling my eyes out. The fact that I am reading these reviews afterward and realizing that other people had almost the exact same experience is honestly heartbreaking. I should have listened. If you are going there because you have a serious concern and need someone to actually sit down, listen to you, and explain things, I would strongly recommend looking different Dr then Ivy Maina. The front desk deserves praise because they were kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the doctor made this one of the most upsetting medical appointments I've ever had.
