The lender was great and recommended Paige Somol from the Attias Group to us as the buyer's agent.

She lead the way as we browsed at house after house; she answered countless calls and emails as well. Elisa is both personable and professional; she knows the facts and her clients' feelings - she can put a little twist on bad news so you will be able to walk away from what you thought was your dream house, and not feel too bad about it. It was a truly original experience to have someone like Elisa on our side - her top interest is that Kim and I were happy. If she knew a house was not going to live up to expectations, she'd tell us. Elisa always made time for us, as well - she never fell short of being a rock star in our experience! And in the end, she found us the perfect house - one she had her eye on for some time, that finally came into our price range. Her diligence, guidance and knowledge really made the difference. Without ANY reservation, I would recommend Elisa to anyone looking to buy or sell!

I worked with Paula, and I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. She was very unprofessional,…read moreuncooperative and simply rude. Every single question I had made Paula upset and resistant. Even when I asked her to email me the lease, so I can read it before signing. Unfortunately for Paula, I do read papers before signing them. I ended up having few questions and concerns about the lease ( including the misspelling of my last name, clarification on payment, parking and utilities, etc). She had no will do discus things with me, instead she changed the moving in date ( giving me a week instead of two to move in) and informed me that if I want the place I must come and sign the lease as it is. For the record: I was the third person who refused that deal.

Admittedly, I was not a fan of Alpine…read morewhen I first arrived (not getting emails answered, leaving messages and not getting calls back). But since becoming more involved in the community and learning more about Alpine, I have come to realize the following: -In the beginning, I got my responses from Alpine but not as fast as I wanted them (but they did answer me and did provide what I asked for) -Since becoming more involved in the community, I have learned that some do not like the answers they get from Alpine, including myself at times -Residents, including myself, need to be more patient, especially when living in such a large community -Alpine is trying to make improvements and, when delivered in a healthy, mature, and constructive way (not yelling and/or calling them names), Alpine listens to feedback Alpine knows they need to make improvements. My understanding is they are under new management. Good. I would rather work with them, give them constructive feedback, push them to give better customer service, rather than complaining and gossiping with neighbors and not being proactive. Also, what responsibility do I/we have living in large community. If I/we do not like living in a community, then we should sell and invest in a single-family home. Looking forward to continuing a healthy working relationship with Alpine.

I had very frustrating experiences with Alpine Property Management regarding disputed charges for…read moreour unit. We repeatedly requested records showing who authorized the legal fees, what the board had approved, what the scope of representation was, and how payments were being applied, but the responses were vague and did not clearly address our questions. We also had a serious communication problem. They referred us to counsel when we disputed some charges. Instead of providing documentation, which we are legally entitled to ask for, the counsel would not communicate with us as the authorized representatives of the unit owner and instead insisted on speaking directly with one owner, even though he has limited English and we already had a power of attorney. A particularly frustrating example involved the parking-lot repair. Alpine wanted to repair an oil stain for $2,600 and withdrew that amount from our account right away. We asked them not to do any repairs until the tenant moved out, since his car had caused the issue. When the tenant moved out, we asked to handle the repair ourselves. Alexis said we were welcome to try and send pictures. We properly degreased, primed, and applied sealcoating to the area ourselves, and the result looked like a brand-new parking spot. Later, we learned from counsel that Alexis characterized the repair as "unauthorized" and wanted to mill the spot and install new asphalt, which seemed unnecessary. I also found Alexis's emails to be consistently accusatory. She often went straight to accusations and fees instead of asking clarifying questions. In my experience, that kind of heavy-handed management does not help build a community that takes ownership of the building; it creates an environment where tenants report each other instead of working together. In addition, there was a clear conflict-of-interest concern because Alpine, specifically Alexis, also solicited real-estate services from the owners while simultaneously pursuing disputed charges against them. Elizabeth, the manager, did not take corrective action or help resolve the situation. Instead, she appeared to support Alexis. Elizabeth's emails also had a footer that solicited real-estate services to owners for selling and renting. That made the overall experience feel even more frustrating and reinforced the impression that the management style was more about pressure than problem-solving.

Below are some of the lowlights of the transaction: The agents expressed concern that the inspector we chose would spook us away from the transaction, insisting that we use one of their "recommended, not alarmist" home inspectors. We went our own way, but this should have been our first sign that something was deeply amiss. In the heat of the negotiation process the agent had the nerve to raise her voice with me and tell me she was going to communicate that the transaction was cancelled to the other agent. We were utterly taken aback and confused by mixed messages and the lack of professionalism. The manager replaced the agents with herself, but unfortunately she also underwhelmed us. It was clear that she hadn't been involved in a real estate transaction in a long time. All her contractor referrals were dead ends -- none of them actually showed up to do the job. The two agents we worked with complained directly to us as well as to the agent whom had referred us to them about a referral fee they had to pay. It was frankly not something we needed to hear about. The icing on the cake was that the manager sat through our closing with the lawyer (unnecessary), and talked about the closing gifts that they are accustomed to giving their buyers. They were trivial to be sure, but no, we didn't get the flowers, nor the roof rake -- just dud contractor referrals.
