I was a single female and worked a full time job & just enrolled in college for the first time. He took my belongings from my home while I wasn't there, accused me of anything and everything he could put his finger on. I had hidden cameras and would have my friends stop by my place to check on it while I was at work. The home that was supposed to be my sanctuary ended up being a nightmare. I dealt with so much stress, I missed work. I had to hire an attorney and fight on my behalf on what he was doing un-lawfully by breaking the landlord tenant law act along with his own lease. Long story short, I won, he had no proof to support his own lies & I got the case dismissed. He ruined my life. I will have an eviction forever on my record now because of this man. (Yes, even though I won). I have NEVER done anything to this man or his property. I tried to be civil with him for so long, until it got to the point where I was walking on eggshells. I stood up for myself (which was a surprise to him), and I fought for justice. Lesson learned. Don't let landlords take advantage of you & threaten to evict you. Stand up for yourself. I never harmed this man, he intruded my life and wouldn't leave me alone.

Fantastic! Our group…read moreof 9 adults needed a place to sleep as our flight landed at midnight and we were headed to Soldatna but that was another 3 hour drive. We needed to rest. I contacted the owner, Anthony, who was very responsive and accommodating. We were the first guests to the Big Bear Den. It was clean, lovely and inviting. We were exhausted and everyone had a place to sleep. 3 couples took the rooms with king and queen beds. The single lady got her own room and the 2 single men took the couch and loveseat. After a good night's sleep we were so thankful for the coffee, different types of creamers and sweetness and even provided almond milk which made my friend very happy. Wish we could've stayed longer but will be referring my friends here first when they travel to Anchorage. You will not regret staying here. Thank you Anthony!

There is a grocery store on the next block, and a bakery two blocks away. The B&B is on I & 13th, which is walkable to just about anything downtown. And you pass by Star the Reindeer on the way!

We booked months in advance to stay here at the beginning of our trip to Alaska for 2 nights and 1 night at the end of our trip. After our 1st night the owner stated she needed to speak with us about the reservations we had made for the last night of our trip. When we met with her she stated that she is bumping us to allow for another customer to stay there instead for a week, as opposed to us only staying for a night. Not only is this unprofessional but on top of it all, she was extremely rude about it. This is very poor customer service and business ethics. When we mentioned this to her she stated that it is commonly done and basically we just needed to get over it. She gave us one of her friends contact info for a rental opportunity that was $40 more than what we had reserved with her. The entire encounter made the 2nd night of our stay uncomfortable. I would caution anyone to read the message boards in regards to this Bed and Breakfast. I paid a…read morecash security deposit, signed a lease, and waited a month to move in to Swiss Accommodations. I was not told that they have someone who lives adjoining their garage, as well as another permanent guest who lives some where upstairs, that my unit not only was not secured with a deadbolt, but that the owners have come into my unit without permission. One of these instances, she even emailed back to say I had left the door unlocked. I had been given two sets of keys upon moving in, but only one worked for my unit. I made sure to give the other set back, as who knows to whoms unit they actually went. I have always paid rent on time, and have never once had an over night guest, or any loud noises, but have been continually harassed for months with emails. The last straw was being told they needed to come and look at the drain in my shower, due to leaving on an extended vacation. Mind you I had gone over three weeks without a working toilet.... They live in the building, and thus know my schedule. The owner via email insisted on an exact time that I would be at work. When in truth, they have never left on said vacation. I will only hope that they return my cash security deposit, but have yet to have one ethical dealing from them.
