I found this shop online looking for a specific goddess. They delivered. They really did. I live in a remote area and used to have to drive long trips to multiple shops and still came home with 35 percent of what I needed. I have been ordering from this shop online now since August 2020. I came to this place a while back. I discovered their $20 for 20 minute readings on Facebook and found myself interested to pop in. Although the drive was long and I got charged multiple toll fees trying to find my way here, I wish i could have said it was worth it as much as I looked forward to it. When i first walked in, I checked in with the person at the desk. It was a little wait but to say the least, the shop was very nice. Very decorative and even one of the associates made some small talk with me about the crystals and her beliefs. When I finally got into the reading, the lady seemed all over the place, bouncing back to back from readings so I did my best to try to be patient. The first thing she assumed about me was my zodiac sign which she therefore got wrong. She claimed me as a scorpio, and I stated I was a Virgo. She laughed it off, beginning to draw my cards and not even going to lie - every single card we drew was inaccurate about who I am as a person. Not even one card was depicted of interest or felt relatable. Even she knew based on my reaction to each one however she insisted to try and fit them to make sense into what they could possibly mean instead. I knew what she was trying to do. I felt uncomfortable by the end of the reading because she was such a lovely person but the reading sucked and I was pretty ashamed I drove all this way here to get a shitty reading. This place is a joke. They're having a fair today and told us yesterday, come first thing in the morning and we'll get you right in (since we only had a couple hours to do this). We get there and the soonest time they can see us is over an hour and half wait time. They have the worst customer service, the owner was rude and was talking bad about the customers prior to us and gave us bad information about coming here today. I'll NEVER come back and I'll never recommend them to anyone. Awareness Shop Refuses to Let 8 Month Pregnant Regular Customer Use Bathroom & Sends Her Out in 22 Degree Weather To Find Public Restroom It pains me to write the review I'm about to write - because before today, it would have been 5 stars. But, unfortunately, people tend to be moved more by negative experiences than positive ones. Mine was exceptionally negative. Long review to follow. The quick and dirty: After paying for my reading and spending money on the raffle ($40 reading, $7 Raffle, before tip), Lisa, the shop owner refused to let me use the bathroom despite the fact that I'm eight months pregnant, a fairly regular customer, and look like I'm smuggling bowling balls under my shirt. It was a true emergency. In the past, Anton, and other employees have allowed me to use it in far less urgent situations. It had just snowed, was extremely cold, and sidewalks were extra slippery - but it was either pee on their floor, or waddle up the half a block to use a public restroom in Dedricks plaza. I so graciously chose the latter. It was the psychic fair for New Years Weekend, and I immediately drove over when I found out Anton was available for readings - I love his tell-it-like-it-is, humorous approach. As expected, there was a wait for my reading, so I killed time by spending $5 on the raffle for seven chances to win a $1 Snickers bar. "At least the money goes to a great cause," I said to the woman operating the raffle. I didn't mind at all. What was unexpected though, was how I was treated when I asked to use the bathroom - a bathroom I'd used a number of times in the past, in far less urgent situations. As any woman who's ever experienced pregnancy knows, these things are out of our control. Our little mini-mes love nothing more than tap dance on our bladders at the most inopportune times. I asked Ms. Raffle Reader (sorry don't know her name) if I could use the bathroom. She shrugged apologetically and shook her head: We really don't have a public bathroom. I motioned down to my about-to-pop preggo belly: Not even for a customer who's eight months pregnant ? Unfortunately not, she said, but told me to double check with Lisa who was manning the front desk. Lisa's shrug was less apologetic and more 'tough luck tootse': If I let you use it, I'll have to let everyone else use it. (Like every patron in the store is suddenly going to rush up to her, insisting that they too should be able to use the bathroom if the pregnant woman got to...) I stared at her in disbelief: Seriously? You're going to make me walk and find a public restroom in this weather...when I'm...? To add insult to injury, after I hobbled up the half-a-block and back (on the icy sidewalk) to use the public bathroom at the convenience store, one of the readers so generously offered me a bottle of water The whole experience sucked to say the least. When I got back, I waited in the stairway because the chairs were occupied. When it was finally my turn, I asked I Anton if there was any salt for my negative energy, because I had quite a bit of it to let go of. I explained the situation to him, and let him know I stayed because it wasn't his fault, but that it was really crappy. He weakly defended the shop policy, assumed the blame, assured me it wasn't personal and that I'm a lovely person. (Though in the past, he was the one who allowed me to use the ladies' room but I didn't want to spend my forty minutes debating that, nor did I want to ruin the energy of the reading. I can't believe I stayed...says something about his readings, I guess.) As always, he offered insight with humor in his signature 'tell-it-like-it-is' style, while doing a great job of not looking distracted as our minutes begin to run out. (I wanted an hour, but he only had 40 min available). Also he was very patient and entertained my amateur/fatalistic interpretations of the cards. Great reading. He definitely had a long day, and had to deal with moving everyone's cars from the parking lot due to snow plowing issues, on top of being booked solid. Unfortunately, I won't be returning due to the ridiculous bathroom situation. I'll miss the shop and my previous experiences and the awesome people there. But I just can't go back to a place that turns away a paying pregnant woman in need of a rest room in the middle of winter - or anyone in my situation - pregnant or not! If you're going to treat customers like random people off the street - at least say "the toilet's broken", lie, and have some tact. The one star in this review is for Anton's reading (He deserves 5 stars - but the rest of the experience was 0). Sorry for graphic details - but needed to convey the sense of humiliation I experienced. I realize the loss of my business equates to a rounding error on a slow day for them...but still sucks to be treated like that, especially in a place that claims to be about 'empowering women'. read more

She assisted me with purchasing my first smudge stick (with instructions), and guided me towards two types of crystals that were perfect for my current need. At that time I also picked up their Lavender Mist, which I highly recommend. That first visit has led to many many more. They have quite a selection of beautiful handmade objects. They also carry a large variety of candles, incense, herbs and other items. If that isn't enough, they also offer a wide range of classes. What wonderful opportunities are to be found at The Awareness Shop! Every last Saturday of the month they have a Psychic Fair. This is when I had my first reading. Detailed, yet easy to comprehend. It turned out to be spot on. I just can't wait for my next one. Whenever you walk into the Shop, you cannot help but to feel welcome there. I came for a Saturday walk-in reading. First off, the sign-up for a reading was very disorganized. This sign up sheet is at the front desk, where shoppers are also trying to buy things. This just made a big cluster of people all requiring different services from the one cashier. When I finally fought my way to the front, the woman at the desk was rather rude (though understandably so given the chaos). There was a list of psychics printed with their faces, and not much more information. I asked the woman if she could make a suggestion, and she rolled her eyes, scoffed, and told me to just go if I couldn't decide on my own. So I chose a name at random. Now for the reading....... The psychic sat me down, and right away said she couldn't read me. And so, she started asking direct questions, like what my job is, and if I am currently dating anyone. She'd respond to each of my answers with "I was just about to say!" "Yes, that's exactly what I'm picking up!" She then ended the reading early by saying what my spirit animal was, but that I would need to pay to get more info about the animal. Why 2 stars you ask? Eh, It was a fun conversation. And I had to give some credit for that purple house. The shop itself is adorable. read more
