Our toilet became blocked so i asked for a plunger and it was handed to me with dried toilet paper all over it. We travelled 2 hours to enjoy a night out with friends and this was the most unpleasant end to what could have been a perfect night. The staff's attitude was indifferent, and it felt as though my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. Additionally, the amenities promised were either unavailable or in poor condition, contributing to an overall disappointing stay. Considering the price paid for the room, I expected a much higher standard of service and comfort. Unfortunately, my experience at [Hotel Name] has left me with a negative impression, and I would not recommend it to fellow travelers. It's fairly new ... it opened in March 2014. From what I understand, it's the only hotel in Fergus (though there are B 'n Bs). Our room was $116/night. The king bed was comfy! Parking, WIFI and a continental breakfast (cereal, yogurt, toast, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, etc.) from 6:30am to 9:30am were complimentary. There was a mini fridge and microwave oven in the room. Mosaic Spa, which we went to yesterday, is attached to the hotel. There are lots of services across the street ... gas station,Walmart, Beer Store, liquor store, KFC,etc. My only complaint is where our room was ... it was right over the entrance and our view was obstructed by the overhang. Granted, the view was of the Walmart across the street but still ... Considering we stayed here on a Sunday and Monday night and our car was one of the few in the parking lot, I bet they could have given us a room with a better view. I would stay here again if I came to Fergus.

I called the front desk to ask about this strange coffee pricing anomaly and they didn't seem to get it.

We were surprised to find a nice note from the manager welcoming us as a Marriott Rewards member. We were using a certificate for 1 night's free stay and as a thank you for choosing their hotel we had a delicious plate of fresh berries and exquisite chocolate as a welcoming gift. The bathroom area was separated by a pocket door so that the toilet and the shower tub combination are separate from the sink and two very large mirrors which were great for putting on makeup and having counter space for your Essentials. I don't think the hotel was very full on a Sunday night, I found the rooms to be very quiet and relaxing. All of the staff welcomed our three dogs and seemed very happy to have them there even sharing photos with us of their own dogs. Why not 5 stars vs. 4? Sorry, I'm spoiled by hotels that always have coffee/tea available in the lobby and complimentary breakfast. I'm not ready to pay $15.95 for a buffet breakfast. The hotel's location is also very convenient as it is literally adjacent to the University of Guelph campus, 5 minutes to the Ontario Veterinary College, in less than 10 minutes to the downtown retail/restaurant area.

The most wonderful thing is that a big thermos of coffee is brought up into hallway in early morning for self serve. How great is that? No getting dressed! Outstanding ample breakfast each day featuring top notch very fresh and innovative breakfast items. A station with granola, fresh breads, croissants, biscuits and homemade jams starts one off. We were shown to a reasonable sized room on the second floor and all necessary amenities were explained to us. The decor of the place wasn't really my cup of tea, but the room was clean and cozy, so I can put aside my own personal aesthetic. The private bathroom was a decent size and well laid out. The bed was a wee bit smaller than I'd imagined, but it was very comfortable. My favourite part of my stay though hands down had to be my breakfast! Because Kevin and Kim knew we had an early start, they got breakfast going extra early for us. We started with freshly baked croissants, lemon poppy seed cake, and assorted fresh berries. DEELISH! Then we had poached eggs with hollandaise sauce with heirloom tomato on a wonderfully salty rosti. SO SO GOOD!!! The eggs were cooked to perfection and the splash of pesto on the tomato added a perfect kick. I was in heaven. I love coming to Stratford to see the theatre. Next year, I am totally coming back here, but I am going to make sure that I have dinner at the Old Rectory too!

Check-in was fast, even with the long lines. What's interesting is that the front desk has these little assorted vitamin tablets to put in your complimentary water bottle. I've never seen that before, but maybe that's what happens in a country with socialized healthcare. I totally appreciate that! The room itself was clean. The AC worked fine. I find that the air can be dry in hotel rooms, but I didn't experience any issues. The lobby has a lot of seating. The on-site restaurant had good food and great service. The staff was VERY patient with my big and loud family, which I also appreciate. The property isn't too far from shopping and restaurants. Though it was summer so the weather was nice. I can't imagine walking in the middle of winter, though I guess walking would be safer than driving for me since I'm not used to driving in the snow. The nearest grocery store is like a 5-min walk so it is doable. I recommend this Marriott property if you need a place to stay in Waterloo since it's close to restaurants, shopping, and the university.

I had the Linguine di Mare with mussels, clams, bay scallops, prawns, all swimming in this rich tomato sauce they call sugo (had to look it up, not gonna lie..haha). One arrival, you park on the left side is the closest to the skiing area, walk around to the back and you have access to the rental and lift ticket pick up. Rentals are easy, they even give beginners poles (not that they should get poles). I took my newbie from magic carpet to lift managing to get down the hill without falling and with great control. People are nice on the slopes, a patron saw someone in our group had fallen and just checked on them. I also helped some mangled newbies untwist their legs with the fall. Not sure where to get hot chocolate but the weather was nice, the people were nice. I noticed on the magic carpet my newbie kept sliding backwards so the lift operator pulled the newbie thru to make sure she could ride the lift, thanks! The location was not crowded that I could ski backwards without worrying about hitting anyone- oh I didn't get any issues skiing backwards too. It's a pity March 19 was the last day open. Will return next time when I have some new skiers to train.

There were plenty of extra towels and a bath robe for each of us. Wifi was available and reliable. We had a chance to peek into the rooms on the second floor and they are truly impressive. Breakfast was coffee and fruit plus a hot entree: an eggs option with toast and jams or pancakes/french toast with maple syrup. Very taste and satisfying. Andy and his daughter were hands off for the most part. Very helpful when we needed assistance. On two occasions, they went out of their way to make our entire stay comfortable. We sincerely felt completely at home and would recommend this b&b for anyone. All travelers would be pleased.
