I can't recommend Michelle enough. First off, prior to sleep training with Michelle, my baby only nursed to sleep and contact slept for nights and naps. I couldn't put her down anymore at all past 4 months and had zero time or ability to do anything. I had attempted sleep training with my 5 month old on my own but kept giving up because of the crying. I kept doubting myself and thinking I was doing it wrong. I needed someone to help hold me to accomplishing my goal and supporting me. She was very easy to talk to and the plan was very straight forward. Michelle is amazing. My son was almost 4, high functioning autistic, and has sleep through the night 7 times since he was born. You guys, Michelle is a baby sleep GENIUS. Seriously, I feel like she's given us our life back, and our baby boy is happier and more joyful than he's ever been. After 7 very long months with our precious baby, we were at our wits end trying to figure out how to get all of us more sleep. We were exhausted and struggling. By the time we decided to sleep train, our baby boy was waking nearly every hour and had difficulty both falling and staying asleep throughout the night and during naps. Originally, we had no intentions of sleep training -- though we didn't know much about it, we assumed that there would be some excessive crying, which we just weren't comfortable with. Where do I begin? In a nutshell, Michelle changed our lives. She gave my daughter (and me) the gift of sleep, she brought joy and harmony back to our family, AND she probably saved my marriage! I have a 9 month old daughter who was sleeping well until she went through a 4 month sleep regression...a regression that never resolved. She began to wake every 1-3 hours at night and didn't know how to self-soothe, so I would have to nurse/bounce/rock/hold her (sometimes for an hour at a time) until she fell back asleep. I would have tremendous anxiety as night approached, not knowing how long I'd get to rest before she'd wake up. I would go straight to bed after putting her down to sleep, often skipping dinner and missing out on any relaxation or down time I'd otherwise be able to spend with my husband. I was exhausted all the time, and I found myself unable to concentrate and focus at work (I'm a physician), or be present and engaged with my daughter and husband at home. Although I was bearing the brunt of it, my husband's sleep was also affected, and he would often feel guilty and helpless that he wasn't able to help more. Like many new moms, I knew this situation was unsustainable and had to change but was reluctant to embark on any sleep training program. I equated "sleep training" with "crying it out" and I was completely opposed to the idea of my daughter crying herself to sleep. However, I was at my wit's end and eventually asked my husband for help. He did extensive research and we found an online program that that used a gradual method of sleep training. We decided to start it...but admittedly I was not 100% on board. We began to have heated arguments about how to carry out the program, and our disagreements occurred many times in the middle of the night with my daughter crying a few feet away from us. I was in tears every night and I was convinced that we were psychologically damaging our sweet, gentle child. Insert Michelle. In a moment of desperation, I found Michelle online. I loved what she had to say on her blog and website, and was completely sold after having an initial phone conversation with her. Michelle is one of those individuals who inspires complete confidence when you talk to her. She truly has a gift - she is intuitive about her clients' needs, and also incredibly knowledgeable about babies, sleep, and development. She was like a sleep consultant, friend, and therapist all in one. We signed up for the two week package, and added the in-home visit. We filled out a detailed intake form, had a long and thorough interview with her, and received an individualized program with step by step instructions. I think the in-home visit was definitely worth the extra cost, because Michelle was with us the first night of the program and sat with me, calming my anxiety, while my husband was in the room with my daughter. We filled out a spreadsheet each day with details on my daughter's naps, bedtimes, and moods, and Michelle would read our comments each day and help us problem solve when we hit bumps in the road. She was so responsive and accessible, and the most important part is that she got my husband and I on the same page. We followed her advice to a T and after 2-3 nights of starting her program, BAM! Our daughter started sleeping. I couldn't believe my eyes. Now, several weeks later, we are a completely different family. My daughter goes to bed peacefully and happily after our bedtime routine, and sleeps eleven hours (with just one wake-up to nurse, which is what we had planned on). If she wakes at night outside of her nursing time, she goes back to sleep essentially on her own and usually within 5 min. She was previously only taking catnaps during the day, and now takes two longer naps at set times in the morning and afternoon and a third "rescue nap" in the early evening. Now that she is well rested, she is more excited, curious, and joyful than I have ever seen her. Now that I am well rested, I enjoy motherhood more than I thought possible. Bedtime with my daughter is now my sweet, coveted, special time with her. And, my husband and I have gotten our evenings back - after putting our daughter to bed, we can cook dinner together and watch Netflix like a normal couple. I honestly don't even know where to start. My husband and I had been co-sleeping with our 15 month old daughter ever since she was 4 months. While I enjoyed our time co-sleeping with our baby girl...it was time for her to go! Once baby #3 hit 4 months, she decided she was no longer interested in sleeping. The only way she would sleep was if I was holding her. She would wake up every hour and would only nap for 15 min. Nothing short of a miracle worker! Even after all the good reviews I was still pretty skeptical our baby wasn't going to get much sleep within the 2 week time period we worked with Michelle. Our baby had learned some really bad habits before hand and wouldn't even sleep a minute or two in her own crib. Simply walking into her room would set her off, so she had to co-sleep with us for the entire family's sanity. Enter in Michelle and within 24 hours of starting the program she was sleeping in her crib multiple times a day. Day 2 she feel asleep in less then 30 minutes and stayed in her crib for 13 hours aside from two quick feedings and even with those she went down super easily. Naps as we all know, took a few days longer to get going but within a week she went from a baby that could only nap in my wife's arms to a baby who was getting 1.5- 2 hr naps in her crib with regularity. Not only that, but when shes awake now, she is the happiest baby on earth. We reached out to Michelle in desperation when we felt we have our sleep training for our 6 month old gone wrong. After our training, she could fall asleep independently but still woke up crying for long periods of time at night (and that's after we followed two bestselling baby sleep books, had a reasonable schedule in place, and read countless baby sleep articles online - you become obsessed with baby sleep if you had a month of broken-into-45-minute-pieces sleep). When I first contacted Michelle my nine-month-old daughter's bedtime was taking over an hour to fall asleep. When I first met Michelle I had a 3 year old who I still hadn't transitioned into her own room and a newborn on the way. We hired Michelle (The Baby Sleep Engineer) out of desperation. Our 18 month old, who is on peritoneal dialysis 12 hrs every night (and has a g-tube with night bolus feedings), was waking up every couple of hours (sometimes hourly!), screaming and refusing to sleep unless I (mom) held her and rocked her back to sleep. And at least once a night (usually more often), she demanded an ounce or less of her formula (even if the pump was feeding her via her g-tube!). After months of terrible (or no) sleep, I was at my wits' end. I was a zombie and would catch myself falling asleep while driving anywhere longer than 10 minutes. As the primary caregiver, I also needed to prepare her (many) medications! It was becoming more than a sleep issue, it was a safety issue for all of us. It was a rough decision for us - was she waking up at night because she was too dry from dialysis, and too thirsty? Would we be harming her by refusing milk in the middle of the night? She tends to throw up easily...would sleep training exacerbate it and cause her to lose weight, which we desperately need her to keep gaining in order to make the required minimum weight to go on the kidney transplant list? After speaking with our daughter's nephrologist, we were given the green light to move forward with sleep training with some parameters in place. I struggled with the cost...I could read a book and implement those suggestions for a lot less money! Nevertheless, we decided to move forward and hire Michelle. Within a week of implementing Michelle's suggestions, our daughter was sleeping through the night and would allow her dad to put her to bed. We had a scheduled surgery that required an overnight stay in the hospital in the middle of the sleep training that caused my daughter to regress from all the wonderful progress she had made, but within another week or so of reimplementing the methods we were taught (and a conversation with Michelle!), we were back to getting sleep and not getting up in the night. It's been about 2 months since we finished sleep training with Michelle guiding us, and it was the best decision we could've ever made. While some of it we could've done on our own from reading books or websites, having Michelle there to provide guidance and answer questions specific to our situation was invaluable, and something that books can't help with - not just behaviors and responses, but to the room setup that we had. Naps have gotten easier as well, and the amount of "me time" that I have has increased exponentially now that I'm not rocking her to sleep for naps and bedtime! The best part: our daughter miraculously didn't throw up once during her sleep training (which we were shocked at, given how prone she is to throwing up). Obviously I can't guarantee your child won't throw up, but Michelle was great at giving us a couple different options as well as the pros and cons of each method, and based on that we chose a sleep training method that really worked for our family. I highly recommend Michelle / The Baby Sleep Engineer...I'd have to say it was the best money I've spent on my daughter (and on me) yet! Michelle is worth her weight in gold, and I am no longer exhausted all of the time. And as a bonus, we have a "looking forward" document that gives us tips moving forward for when our daughter hits sleep regressions, needs to transition from two naps to one nap, etc. And if we ever find ourselves really struggling, Michelle offers short strategy calls to help us address any issues we can't resolve on our own. If you're struggling and need more sleep because your child isn't sleeping well, hire Michelle. You won't regret it (as long as you follow her advice and suggestions, and are consistent!). The best part is, even with COVID, you can have a quality interaction with her via video or phone - none of this needs to be done in person! read more

Michelle did an amazing job for us when we unexpectedly had to move our 2 kids -- 5 and 2 -- into 1 bedroom. She really helped us navigate this transition with our kids. Even though this was my 3rd baby, we were still struggling with sleeping at night and during naps. I figured it was because I was nursing at night and he "needed" to wake up. Michelle took our concerns and parenting beliefs into consideration when developing our plan. She holds a one hour zoom call with you and your co parent and then sends over an extensive plan that reviews all the "what ifs" - most of the success comes from a professional telling you what is "okay" so you are not constantly second guessing yourself. Within a couple days my son went from waking 3-4 times a night at 7months old and cat napping all day to sleeping from 6:30-4:30 (still kept one feed) and slept again until 6am. Michelle is SO awesome and knowledgeable about sleep. A little about our experience with her... my daughter was 3.5 years old at the time and had never slept through the night- waking every couple hours, on top of that she would wake up in the middle of the night to come into bed with my husband and me- we didn't know how to get her to stay in her "big girl bed". At this point, I was convinced it was too late to sleep train and I was without a full night of sleep for years- which effected my mood and the overall feel of the house. That is when I met Michelle, she not only got to know our family dynamics and how we've been dealing with the sleepless nights, but she gave me options which would be best for my daughter AND one that I was comfortable with. We found Michelle when our son was 6 months and we were in desperate need of some help with our son's inconsistent sleep. Our son was waking at all hours of the night and we tried everything in advance of meeting with Michelle. We had an introductory call with Michelle and she guided us to through the process and did not try to oversell her packages. Within 3 days of implementing her plan, our son was sleeping through the night. 6 weeks later, our son is sleeping consistently able to sleep through the night and on the rare occasion he wakes up, he is able to self soothe and get himself back to sleep within a minute or two. We had been bedsharing with our 1 year old since she was 3 months old - I was nursing her to sleep and she would comfort nurse periodically in the middle of the night. And though she slept pretty well if I was next to her, we wanted to transition her to her own crib/room, so that 1.) I didn't have to go to bed early every night like I had been for months, and 2.) because I was going on a work trip and was worried that she and my husband wouldn't get any sleep while I was gone. We were on a time crunch to get her transitioned to her crib, and Michelle was great about getting started quickly! We found that Michelle was really knowledgeable about sleep, easy to talk to, and she eased some of our worries right away. And we thought it was great that she tailors your sleep plan to your family's goals and preferences. We hit a few hiccups along the way (our daughter refused to lie down the first few nights and nap training did not go well) and Michelle was able to help us alter our plans accordingly to try and get back on track. With her encouragement and guidance, we were able to continue on with our plan and just the other night, our little one went to sleep (laying down!) after 4 minutes and slept through the night for 11.5 hours! It was like magic! As a parent, I think it's really easy to write off sleep and dismiss the lack of it as something that "won't last forever". However, when our twins reached 17 months, we decided that we had gone without long enough and that so did our babies. We had tried everything that was recommended to us, but we felt overwhelmed and full of questions trying to navigate sleep training with twins. Then we had our first call with Michelle. She listened to all of our concerns and answered our questions. When we received the sleep plan, we were very impressed. Michelle outlined everything specific to our needs and was very clear/concise about what we needed to do. I'm not going to lie, the first few nights were not fun and there were a few times where I was ready to throw in the towel and having Michelle to guide us and tell us what was normal and what might be a sign that we need to adjust things was worth it's weight in gold! The twins went from nursing to sleep and waking several (4-6 times each and of course at different times) to now they sleep solid 6:30p-6a with no or one very brief night waking.
