This place is probably not somewhere I would go back to. First, the latte I ordered was not appealing at all. I'm not sure if the flavoring they use was bad or what.... Second, the muffins we ordered were stale and inedible. Third, the sign on the business out front is a disgrace. Location speaks volumes so it should not be surprising. We were wanting to go but we have a large family & we're wanting to ask regarding allergen friendly etc. It recently changed ownership! Tasha (the new owner) was so helpful. They were running a little slow today and she apologized for the wait & thanked us for our patience. Then I shared about my needs regarding my nutrition she went back and checked with the kitchen. She helped me order & she was so pleasant and has such good energy we knew we were in the right place. Now let me talk about a few things they grate & make their hashbrowns fresh daily. They have unbelievably fair prices! And huge portions. This will be a go to place for breakfast for decades. We are big believers in supporting local. Stopped here on day 3 of our cross country road trip. Darling place that serves breakfast and lunch. We were seated right away by our server, Priscilla. What a darling! Hubby had pancakes and sausage which he enjoyed. Since it was Friday they had clam chowder which I ordered along with the fish & chips. The food was served quickly and was hot! Clam Chowder was very good but the fish and chips not so much. The 3 star rating was for the food but if I rated the service it would be 5. Priscilla went over and beyond waiting on us. Cute little small town diner. Friendly staff. Mostly locals eating breakfast but didn't feel like an outsider or out of place. The biscuits and gravy are very good. The homemade preserves that comes with the toast is amazing! The bacon is crispy and has a smoky flavor.... yummy! The kitchen sink was great. Went for breakfast at The Badger's Den on the recommendation of a friend. The food was excellent...really fresh eggs, crispy fried corned beef hash, and the waitress didn't bat an eye when I asked if I could substitute cottage cheese for the hash browns. Don't forget to request the homemade preserves for your toast. Excellent coffee, as well. But now, let's talk about the service...they are friendly, fast, and efficient and will carry on a conversation with you. They are busy, and it seems to be the local favorite judging by how the wait staff knew just about everybody, including what they usually drink and eat. I'll admit I was worried by the sign "Tanning, WiFi, Latte". I didn't need a tan, and wondered if that was required to get the other two. This is the ONLY PLACE IN THE WORLD where I've seen a spreadsheet of coffee prices on the menu, with a dozen styles (mocha, espresso, etc.) and columns for prices for the following ounce volumes: 8, 12, 16, 20, 26, 32. Starbucks makes a "vente" which is 20oz, but TWO SIZES larger as well? They had a full selection of breakfast and lunch menus and the place was filling up at 7am. All I know is that the coffee was above average, even for a metropolitan area (which is about 825 miles due West), the breakfast muffin was competent, and the wifi was better than my motel across the street. For this town, this is probably a 5 star place, but in the Grande Scheme of Things, it's a 3 star you'd go to no matter where you lived. read more

The coffee size variety is extraordinary - really! from 8 oz to 32oz - and with totally reasonable prices, you could caffeinate yourself for a long day's drive with ease. And then there's the breakfast choices - which range from "classic" to "more classic" - combinations of pancakes and eggs, and french toast and burritos. The restaurant has a funky western decor, with hundreds of license plates along the ceilings, burlap coffee sacks and medals from (I'm assuming) family members' wins. Came for breakfast while here from out of state for a wedding. Yelp steered me here and they were right! First morning I had breakfast burrito, very good. Next day the chicken fried steak and eggs-oh my! Best I have ever had in my 65 years. Crispy crust on the steak, peppery gravy that was awesome, and my basic eggs over easy. A stop for breakfast after camping an hour away at Pete creek campground! Had to ask a local where to go for a good breakfast! After seeing the outside it was not real inviting or fancy, but looks can be deceiving, we went in because we were too hungry, and needed coffee bad!! I read a couple of reviews but one said server was not nice and they had to wait for their service and coffee so I wasn't sure if I should try this place being as picky as I am! So my husband and I sat down at a table found a table that said Elvis drive and it had great ambience. My husband had pancakes eggs and hashbrowns and I had eggs and biscuits and gravy Maria first time having an American breakfast, it was fantastic! Pancakes yummy, gravy a little too strong in pepper but still liked it. Coffee could've been stronger but it still was great and I love it the great choices on the menu and love that there was a charging station at the booths, and service was fantastic please check this place out it is a little gem!! read more

Well, that's an hour of my life that I'll never get back! I stopped here for lunch on Monday because the nearby Chick-n-Chop had been recommended to me, but turned out to be closed on Mondays. I will say that the huckleberry shake I ordered was quite good. However, the lunch special of the day (turkey melt sandwich with broccoli cheese soup, slightly overpriced, but not terribly so) was truly unfortunate. The sourdough bread in the sandwich was the only thing that made it edible . . . the filling flavors just didn't blend well, and the whole thing had an unpleasantly gooey texture. But the broccoli cheese soup was truly the worst. It didn't actually taste cheesy-- more like some kind of glutinous gravy. I couldn't manage to get down more than the first bite. Worst of all, though, was the service. The young lady who waited on me was very pleasant and friendly, but just not efficient at all. She didn't offer to refill my empty water glass even once, and waiting for the food . . . and then the bill . . . and then for her to actually come and take my payment and give change . . . took such a staggering length of time that, out of desperation, I really considered just leaving and mailing in the payment from home! This in spite of the fact that there were only a handful of other customers, so it wasn't busy at all. Seriously, don't even consider stopping here for lunch! Their coffee and breakfast items may be fine (I have no way to know!), but it's definitely not a good choice for lunch. If you are a local . . . well, I don't know what the other options in town are like, but perhaps you'd be better off fixing your own lunch at home. read more

Yes, please!! I only visit this hidden nugget of deliciousness every other year, and am happy when I do! First of all, they have a drive through (I don't have to get out of my car when it is below freezing, hallelujah!). Second, their prices and sizes are MUCH more reasonable than Starbucks(in Safeway) - I got three medium sized drinks for under $10! Yaaassssssssssss. Plus, less cost for me, means bigger tip for them! Third, it is filled with multitudes of different choices for favors, and the lovely ladies are happy to make your drink with any special orders :) . We recently made a trip from B.C. to Southern Califronia and as soon as we made it across the border into Idaho we began to get hungry. As soon as we made it to the first town, Bonners Ferry, we made it about halfway through town until we the saw a cute little building with paintings of cute little animals on the windows which originally made us stop. We decided to eat there and didnt regret it because even though they were a small breakfast and lunch Cafe they presented an amazing value of food for a great price and I never thought Northern Idaho would have the great food that i would expect from a little town, but the customer satisfaction and qualtiy of food was 100% greater than i expected. read more
