Eichardt's looks like a total dive from the outside. The main thing that drew me in was that the outdoor sign advertised coffee and a beer house. Interesting. Well, turns out it is no longer a coffee house, except that they do serve drip coffee, but I was told that they used to. However, the inside is warm and cozy With a touch of dive and a ceiling full of tchotchkes. It looks pretty cool. Despite looking like a dive bar, kids are welcome and the server was very warm and friendly. We were only there for an appetizer and a drink while waiting for our Thai food to-go order to be cooked around the corner with a 45 minute wait. The four of us ordered the Caesar salad and my son, the chicken strips. We were in for the surprise of our life. We discovered the best Caesar salad ever made. Ever. I'm not sure how they do it, but it was so delicious we all said we'd come back just for that salad. My son reports that the chicken strips were also really good. We just never would have expected the great quality of food we were served here in this "dive bar". The beers we had were also really good. I unfortunately do not recall the names, but my wife, oldest daughter and I all loved our drinks. We are so glad we ducked in here on a cold night. It made for a type of progressive dinner and we discovered something exciting that we look forward to returning to. read more

Servers extremely rude. No server came to the table in 15 minutes then when trying to be served at the bar was told if I sit at a dirty table we will not be served. When asked why Ithe response was "I was told what I was told" I have never been been treated as poorly by staff in a restaurant for no apparent reason in 50 years. read more

Absolutely love, the people, the food, and the atmosphere at Eichardt's. Ordered the fish and chips. Absolutely amazing. But if you are really gonna take to heart a Yelp review... Trust me on this one. Get the fish and chips and share it! There is so much food that two people can eat it and still have leftovers! No need to get two meals when you only need to order one! The fish and chips were great, absolutely loved the garlic friends. Also ordered the prime rib sandwich and it was delicious, although it could have used a bit more prime rib. Prime rib came with a side of clam chowder and it was some of the best I have ever tasted! All around a great place and would definitely return. read more

This was a very good place to eat! My boyfriend's family and I fit comfortably upstairs, with 10+ people they could accommodate for big parties. Lots of cool signage and trinkets along the walls, felt very local. The workers were nice and attentive, considering it was busy during the time we went as well. They had some good beers, but their garlic Parmesan fries were super yummy too! It was a big of a long wait but most of us ordered the fish and chips, which were delicious as well. They have a lot of card games and other little games like darts upstairs, which we played a big round of Uno while we waited for our food. The bathroom is tiny, sticky, and small, but I guess that is what to expect with a pub/brewery atmosphere like this one! Overall a great experience, nothing too fancy and over the top but it was still a delicious meal! read more

Tried this place out tonight. I heard from family that it is amazing. I love the decor and vibe of the place. Menu looked like it had plenty of tasty options. They are either short staffed or that is how they do things. Drink refills are conducted by going downstairs to get them. My family enjoyed their meals but weren't thrilled by them. The staff was cool and friendly. We only interacted with the staff when we ordered, and when we went to get our refills. I rated everything 3 stars because of the whole experience and processing it through my mental restaurant filter. I like this place but will have to try again before I would recommend it to others. I don't think you will have a bad time or bad food here. It's good, but I'm going to try again to fully form my opinion. (Our bill came to $99 -4 people). Food quality / price (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is an eclectic pub. We only had nachos and a couple drinks at the bar, so I can't comment on a real lunch or dinner. The nachos were made with house made corn chip which is unheard of. They were thin, crisp, and bubbly. Very unusual. They also have a nice list of draught beers to choose from. They have a tap-handle collection hanging from the ceiling of about 600 handles. Very cool. The menu is pretty standard pub fare, and the prices are lower than competitors in the immediate area. Service was good. They offer live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. We'd definitely come back. read more

My favorite hangout in town. Great music, beer on tap and excellent food! Strong list of regional beers on tap, I usually go on Monday nights which is Blues night. Great local talent, a few of the regular guitarists are really something! As for the food, the best I've had in the Panhandle. Working my way through the menu and always test out nightly specials. This is the 3rd time I have visited this establishment. It's a smaller place but quite cozy and has a "wrapped in a warm blanket in front of a fire" feeling. As you enter there is a heavy curtain to pass through as to not blow cold gusts of air onto patrons seated at the bar! The ceiling is decorated with hundreds of tap handles which helps with the sound dampening and cozy effect. The lighting is dim and soft and the music is unobtrusive and enjoyable for most any taste. It's very hard to explain but, sort of like upscaled elevator music of the 70s and 80s genre. They also have live music on selected nights as well. Service is very friendly and personable and the food is excellent! You can tell they use quality ingredients and many things are made from scratch! . They have local elk, use Wood's burger (also local), and have a decent selection of beer with a few rotating taps. The buns aren't your typical fluffy Franz style but perfectly grilled and hearty. The only thing I wish is that they were more generous with the fries. The chili was good but the bowl was more the size of a cup. No leftovers to bring home here but definitely worth it for the quality. This is also one of the only places you seem to be able to get non-chain restaurant quality food later at night. OMG! We were there on a Friday night. I ordered one of the specials: Linguine with clam sauce. Truly.., the best I've ever had. It was made with bacon, and a bit of Dijon mustard. It had plenty of clams. It was AMAZING. We don't live nearby, but whenever we are in Sandpoint, we stop in. We've always enjoyed the food and the beers on tap. Great pub! read more

I read the reviews and that's what lead me to this place. I showed up at lunch. The lunch menu is very limited. I decided on fish and chips due to the limited menu. I wouldn't order them again. Fish was over cooked by a long shot. Nothing special about the fires. Eichardt's is a nice place, nice ambiance, the staff was super nice. I'll definitely try a few beers and dinner here someday, but I won't be back for the lunch. read more

Wow! I didn't even know service could get that bad. We waited over an hour and a half hour food on a Sunday and when we asked the server to let us know how much longer our food would be, because we had already been waiting, he told us that we needed to leave, and he didn't even have to cook our food if he didn't want to. His name was Kasey and because of him I will never be back. I've been there many times over the last few years and even though the service has been amazing otherwise, my experience with him will deter me and every person I know from ever returning to this restaurant. I hope they fire him because he's going to run this restaurant into the ground. It is absolutely not OK to treat people like that regardless of the circumstances. read more

Perhaps it's they are short of help, which I understand, but last night we waited at the door for 10 minutes and No one helped us. I went to the bar to ask if it was open seating, which he said it was. We sat down and no one Came or even acknowledged us for a good 20 minutes. We left. I'd like to upgrade my review to 4.5 stars (gotta keep my fives down, ya'll!) Came in here last night (it was a Sunday) at about 9:30pm, received prompt service and the food arrived surprisingly fast. I got a braggadocious barley wine on cask (only place in Sandpoint with cask beer...heck, there is only one place in Spokane with cask ale). I had to drive back to Spokane and wasn't up for a full 12 ounces of this brew, so they let me get a 6 ounce pour of it! My friend and I both got burgers. She got a Cajun blue cheese beef burger and I got an elk* garlic burger, both were FANTASTIC. We had been hiking all day and the salads were...breathtaking. This is one of the most bodacious dinner salads I have ever seen! (we also got blue cheese and garlic dressings on our salads respectively...) I will definitely be coming back here again. Only negatives are: - Kind of expensive, but I suppose that's to be expected of a tourist town. And really, I don't mind paying a bit more if the food is tasty. (it is) - They have more good beer on tap than towns many times their size. This sucks for me because I often have to drive back to Spokanistan and I'm not too fond of injuring myself/others/deer/property on my drive home. *like many places in the Inland NWish region of North America, you have many different options for your burger meat. LOVE this place. It has a local quirkiness that makes it fun. It has been busy and delicious every time we've been. Considering that staffing has been very difficult during this pandemic ( every place in town is desperate for workers) they did an incredible job of accommodating. As soon as you walk into Eichardt's you think to yourself, "Yes! This is exactly the type of bar I was looking for." Great atmosphere, friendly faces and the food coming out of the kitchen looked scrumptious. My wife, son (10) and I were there on a Sunday night to grab a beer and something to eat. My son got the grilled cheese and fries, wife got a veggie melt in a wrap with salmon and I got the chicken parmesan with a side salad. I'll first tell you how amazing the food was. Everything that was brought out took a bit longer than expected but the wait was worth it. The food was delicious. By the way, I had a Star Dust IPA to compliment my meal which was delicious. With that said, my wife never got her salmon in her wrap and I begged them to BURN my son's fries, which came out limp like regular fries. I could have sent it back but I didn't. Everything was blamed on a "new cook". As a customer, I don't care to hear about whose fault it is, I just expect it to be right. I don't want it to sound like my review is encouraging anyone to stay away. On the contrary, I think this place was awesome with a few minor setbacks. I would definitely go back. read more

We decided to drop in here last night to see if they could accommodate a 8:45pm dinner for 7 with 3 kids. We were welcomed in from Tammy Burly and she said she could be flexible to make anything kid friendly. She was the best server I've had in a restaurant. She gave us an excellent recommendation to have the chicken Marsala. We also had the garlic fries....YUM, and the French dip. They had a great live musician playing guitar and the ambiance was perfect. We can't wait for our next trip to Sandpoint to stop in again. We have been coming here for years and came on a Sunday evening and waited over an hour and a half for food and when we asked what was taking so long, Casey asked us to come out back so he could tell us why we had to leave. He told us to get the *** out. He is the biggest a****** I've ever met in my life and if anybody goes there I hope they don't have him as a server.
