I loved visiting The Bag Lady! This local metaphysical/spiritual store has so many quality items to choose from, such as jewelry, crystals and stones, incense and candles, tarot decks, and books. I ended up buying a necklace and bracelet, which are both beautiful. The women at the checkout desk were friendly, funny and answered my questions as I am still learning about spirituality and growing my interest in the practice. I attended a vision board event here and it was wonderful. The store itself is really cute and has an assortment of crystals, books, candles, and more. I noticed they have several events during the month as well. The service was warm, attentive, and fun!! I noticed the prices were very reasonable. There's parking in the back but it's limited. I will be honest that I know nothing about crystals, holistic healing, etc. but I came here to get a gift for someone that is and I'm glad I found this spot. There were a lot of different options, and a great range of prices, so I could find something that was in budget but thoughtful and represented her as a person. The staff was helpful when I shared a bit about her and what the gift was for, and when she received it, she absolutely loved it. Again, I don't know anything about this type of spirituality, but I would certainly come back for gifts. This is a great metaphysical store and I loved the fact that they had a huge parking lot for downtown Charlotte. They had the typical items in any store with a wide variety of crystals, cards, jewelry. My favorite part of the store was the kids section. I thought it was super cool and thoughtful to have such a great place for them to learn about "real life". They had amandine books. Thai store catered a lot to gender equality and the LGBTQ community. I thought that was great, too. It is in a big purple building and can't be missed. read more

This place rocks! Pun intended! I've been on a crystal kick lately and was in Charlotte this weekend. I live in St Louis and there are no crystal/metaphysical shops in my near vicinity, so on a whim, I decided to check on Yelp to see if there were any good shops in Charlotte to visit while in town. That's how I stumbled on The Bag Lady. I went there yesterday (Sunday) and loved to see so many others shopping there as well. I was impressed with the selection and variety of items there including children and adult books, jewelry, incense, meditation bowls, and tarot, affirmation, and oracle cards. I received excellent customer service by one of the ladies working there and purchased an awesome pyrite sphere, a titanium aura pyrite egg, and a tumbled malachite. The selection of items was vast! My first time visiting and I was impressed by how many different items they had for sale. The service was not good as I don't think they even said hi (it's a small business so it's noticeable when someone walks in the door) but the shop was clean, organized and had good energy. I have been looking for a crystal shop local to me I normally travel a pretty good way to go visit them. I found this place on Instagram it came across my feed of places I may like... It's about 20 mins away from me so I decided to take a trip to see how it was. I was not disappointed! Some things are a little more expensive but it's close to home & convenient so I don't mind! The store was great however my review is based on the reading I purchased. SAVE Your MONEY. The person I met with said she was a psychic/medium. I told her I had three questions and hoped she would be able to answer all or some. She did crystals-ok why? I would have made an appointment with a crystal reader if that was what I was looking for. If you're a psychic or medium can you not just sense things or get info from spirits? She gave me no useful info or insight. She then did tarot cards which she was reading the descriptions off the back. Honestly-I could have done a better reading. So disappointed-wish I saved the time and money. I love this store. Their stones are great! They have all sizes including small ones great for gridding up to really large ones. I have never had a problem and I've been going here for over a year. I have had a few different readings with mixed results. None of them were "bad" but maybe just not as specific as I would like. The ones that have been the most consistent were with Nami. He does an angel reading and painting. I really liked my first one and love my second. I had them done about a year apart. He encourages you to record them so you can just be present and not try to take notes or (gasp) remember all the info. I am a customer for life. read more

Helpful, kind, and communicative staff. Great selection of artifacts, from Christian mysticism, to Egyptian neopaganism, as well as shamanism. For those who can't afford some of the items, they do have a bartering system. Great selection of tarot as well, if you're into that. The energy is really bad. It wasn't that bad when the were at the first location. Or maybe I wasn't as spiritually powerful back then. Idk. I keep trying to go back but it's like... eh. I don't think it's really from African spirituality. And it's super overpriced. $40 for Super 8, when I got the same size at Crystal Blue in Atlanta for $10. This is my first time making a negative review ever but I been thinking about it and I want to spread the message by saving some ones energy. This is a great store I never had issue with this store. However there's a lady that works there once a month Sunday name Rachel Thompson she is like a snake, I am not saying she does that to everybody she may not but she does it to ppl that has a good heart and easy to manipulate. She sucked me in by this "twin flame" mess and Reki. She performed black magic/voodoo on me and I was not aware almost 2 months. I was on autopilot and she was stealing my energy because I allowed her to work on me. Please be careful of this woman. She unabled me to do anything other than to think about her for a month. She stated that I would "not live long" and I believed her. I was put in FEAR and it's still in my subconscious that I am working on healing. My hands still shake because of all this anxiety. So much wrong guidance. I really pray for her and I believe in Karma so she will get it unexpectedly. What we put out comes back around. She did teach me a lesson to have spiritual boundaries so I thank her for that. I just don't want anybody to get sucked in her negative energy with this twin flame false information she feeds. I never had issues with anybody else or the store. I even have recordings of everything she said and now I laugh at myself for believing her.
