Their bagel Gringo Starr without cheese, and additional avocado
    Luisa L.

This place is perfect to go to if you're not too hungry. I always go for the Gringo Starr but since I'm lactose intolerant I can't eat cheese so I drop the cheese and add in avocado instead. It tastes really good and fresh. I'd recommend going here if you want some good bagels. They have a variety of things to eat and you can also have a menu adding in fries and something to drink. There are also a lot of bagel options other than a plain bagel.

Onion bagel with cream cheese, toasted on the grill Barcelona style. I'm from New York City, and yes, I liked it

A very enjoyable experience at The Bagel Hood. The owner came out and spoke to us, the staff was extremely lovely and the bagels were delicious. Different style than New York, which is where I'm from, but I say if people want an exact New York bagel than visit New York, these were excellent. The atmosphere was nice, it smelled fresh and clean inside and today they played mostly 80's New Wave music - I haven't heard "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by New Order in a bagel shop before They have an immaculate interior for sit down and also do take away. Americans will love it!

Twister potato with the vegetarian poppy seed bagel

It was a hole in the wall type of place but the bagels here were delicious! Thumbs up for a hearty breakfast/brunch! Ordered the vegetarian and the gringo star. On top of that, the twister potato.....seals the deal!

Unbelievable food. Great service. They were open when pretty much all of the other food places closed down for the night. I'm very happy I found this place.

Just wow. We used Yelp to find this store. The location is in the center of Barcelona at a quite street. I had the Nina Salmon Bagel on a menu with fries and a Fanta for just 9,90. Salmon, Avocado,..., in a tasty bread is great for the price. It was on of the best bagels I ever had. So delicious! The fries were great, too. Well and Fanta is Fanta. I was well fed and happy. The staff is very friendly. I would definitely go here again!

We definitely had our eyes on this everytime we walked pass the store. We went here one morning and got coffee and like the fact they draw designs on top. The food also looks amazing, but we didnt get a chance to make it back in time to try the food later that day. Would def come back though.

This place was really good, and seemed to cater to the "American Breakfast." As evidence, everyone in the shop when we were there was American/English. We had the BBQ King Burger and Gringo Star with Onion and Cheese bagels, respectively. We tried both the "twister" potatoes as well as the classic fries. The twister potatoes were like the swirl cut potatoes you can get at the fair, fried to crispy. I preferred the classic fries. Nice staff, friendly and very helpful.

Literally the best bagel sandwich I've ever had. Lemonade was a little tart but still so good. Also the service was quick.

Fantastic coleslaw salad, the bagels are warm and taste. The soundtrack in ambience is folk/rock/indie good music.

When you walk in it has that mixture of smells that you know you're absolutely repulsed by and at the same time thrilled to smell. You know everything in there is fresh; the fruit is fresh, the fish is fresh, the vegetables are diverse and look just picked, and the cheese is amazing. The charcuterie is like a fantasy! This market even has plants for sale as well as flowers and a few additional outlying products. When you walk up to a stall, it's not guaranteed that you're going to get a smile or a happy, "How are you?" But it is guaranteed that you will get good service. Selling the product is the name of the game here. I fully believe that if you are ever in barcelona and you come by this market you should absolutely stop in and see what it's all about. It's one of those rare places that you will be extremely glad that you saw and you'll think about later in life even if you don't buy anything, it's worth a look.

Unlike Boqueria, there aren't that many vendors selling cooked foods/tapas/snacks. Instead, it seemed more like a place where locals did their food shopping. We picked up some strawberries, so this is a good spot to pick up some fresh fruit. There's also a supermarket downstairs. They sell flowers and plants out front, and while I definitely didn't need any flowers, it was still nice to just look at them. If you're staying nearby and want to experience some local vibes, you should check it out. Otherwise, it's probably not worth going out of your way for if you're not looking to buy groceries. Note - they're closed Sundays.

When I travel, I like spending some times just walking thru a local grocer. I had a cart and probably spent almost an hour here looking at the different types of wines, picos camperos and cheeses. I was perusing thru the deli counter and saw all types of meat and wanted to pick up some items at the counter. The lady at the counter started talking to me and I said my usual 'hola', I knew this conversation would go beyond that, so I think she started explaining the difference to me between Jamón Serrano and Jamón Ibérico. I didn't want to break the wallet so I took out my phone and used Google Translate to make sure I was getting some reasonable prices Jamón. After the store manager came out trying to figure out what I was asking, I did get what I was looking for twenty minutes later (see photo of that vacuum packed goodness!). I brought it back to the room and took the rest with me to the Sagrada Família. I recommend checking this market out if you eat nearby at Cerveceria Catalana.
