They are all about customer service and if they don't have it, they will order it. They also recommend items they know are similar to what you enjoy. They are very nice and gracious to anyone who walks in their door. They are a good, hardworking family. They are in a great location, their store is always very clean and well stocked. I not only highly recommend Confections by Lynn but look forward to ordering more pies for the holidays. And I'm not one to gush over bakeries. And this bakery does it all. Naturally leavened breads, sweet pastries, savory baked goods, and great coffee all in a clean, well lit, charming, and friendly space. While I have had BDB's rye teacake at Argus in the past, I had not delved deeply into their full line of products. This changed last week when I popped in and fell in love with their buckwheat financier, spelt scone with braised collards, cheddar, and bacon, and their Ypsi sour loaf. Here's the bottom line: the flavors and textures are just freaking fabulous. Across the board. Financiers, scones, and bread all share the same praise. Remarkable crunchy crusts, juxtaposed with tender interiors, and flavor that just goes on and on. Brand new fan. Well worth the drive out to Ypsi. I think I found my new favorite hangout with those big big windows, easy weekday parking, and free wifi. My hope is to get there early enough sometime to get a hot baguette out of the oven, or some other loaf when it is still warm. Hot bread and good butter is the best food combination on Earth. I'm ready to throw down in defense of those words. I suspect when I get that timing figured out, Bird Dog Baking might be able to squeeze its way into the top spot of my greatest culinary experience of all time. But I'm a simple man, with simple tastes... even if I have almost impossibly high standards. Oh yeah, they also are seriously into local grains, using a wide variety of lesser known grains, and all kinds of other super cool and nerdy food stuff. It's frustrating to see a manager treat both customers and staff this way. If there are communication breakdowns, the focus should be on improving the flow of information, not attacking those affected by it!!! I also wanted to shout out Aubrey, she was so polite to me the entire time I was in the bulding (unlike the acting manager). She made me feel so welcomed and it was really having such a kind employee there!

We ordered pastries for a friend's funeral visitation one evening prior to it, and the Bake Shoppe had it ready early the next day. It was so beautiful! The homemade treats were delicious and so pretty. There were so many different varieties in the box, arranged like a work of art!! We are so impressed with the quantity we received also. A $50.00 box stacked with pastries and other desserts was more than we imagined. The family liked them also We will order from the Bake Shoppe from now on. Great job Bake Shoppe! I just love this little gem!!! From there paczkis to there cream puffs. Just can't get enough of them. One year we had them make a hungarian rum torte for us{just had to bring the rum} and it was so good. But over the years I have learned to make it myself but if ever in a pinch I would have them make me another one. read more

She started making the drink and said she was out of caramel, did I want another flavor? I said sure just do pistachio. The original drink was listed at $4 and the larger $4.50. She rung the drink up as $6. I waited thinking she was going to adjust it, then she asked cash or card? I mentioned the price error. She scoffed that she had to made modifications because they were out of caramel. I told her NOTHING on the menu was $6 and it was a replacement syrup. It was ok, I'll just get the cookie. In a very combative tone she asked, what am I supposed to do with this drink? I shared how I was unfamiliar with their policies. She went on and on about how she made the drink and in her exact words, "I can't explain why it is $6, it just is." At that point I told her I would not be purchasing anything and left. This is a place I enjoyed going to, I wouldn't be surprised if they close soon due to poor service and quality.
