My wife came here a few months ago with her sister and ordered 3 pieces. Her only complaint was that their service was slow, amounting to 30 minutes of wait time for them. Now I'm not gonna let her experience influence my rating, but I will say they took a long time with my order as well. In their defense I requested 21 pieces of kanafeh divided into 6 different orders to go because I was gifting them to other people. They clearly didn't have enough kanafeh to fulfill my order on the spot and I could tell they were scrambling to make more. It was nice getting a new batch fresh, but it's clear that the weakest aspect of this business is efficiency. I felt bad because a few people came after me and also had to wait while they were making more in the kitchen. Getting this story out of the way, the dining area is beautiful, their coffee is excellent, and the staff are very courteous (although I had a hard time communicating my order to the cashier). But the most important thing is their kanafeh is delicious, and I hope they remain in business for years to come. I'm probably going to have to call in my future orders ahead of time if they are going to take this long to prepare. This is the only reason I didn't give them a perfect 5 star rating

Many of the sweet treats like cupcakes, macrons, cookies and bars are vegan and gluten-free friendly, and they have a smattering of more substantial offerings (including sandwiches as well as prepackaged snacks, a salad bar and a hot bar via the Ann Arbor Food Co-op that's attached) if you're hungrier for something a bit more fillng or savory. They also have deeeeelicious smoothies and fresh juices, plus a variety of seasonal espresso and non-coffee related beverages to offer. Right now they have a mulled apple cider and a raspberry white mocha as we sail into the last few weeks of winter (hopefully!). Since they're part of the co-op they're very community oriented with lots of meetings and local info to be found on their community board, they also have live music on Thursdays and just a really laid back and fun atmosphere in general. Great wifi to boot! FYI--Parking in the neighborhood is metered and those closest to the cafe, on the street, only take change, so bring your quarters. They pull shots on their La Marzocco from Mighty Good's Espresso 46. Gotta say, it's not my favorite, but it transforms nicely into a Mexican Chocolate Mocha. The flavored espresso and tea menu is extensive, but they do make some of their own syrups, which I appreciate. That said, I think the most under appreciated and most exciting thing that Venue Coffee offers are their wines by the bottle. These can be consumed on site without a corkage fee! Yes, the coffee shop closes at 6pm, but it's open Monday through Saturday. I want to get brunchy some Saturday with a bottle of pet-nat, which they keep in the cooler. Just need to find some likeminded folks who are down for some day drinking. #Goals Or maybe, one afternoon, I bring my laptop and tackle some writing projects with a bottle of wine by my side. Very bright and airy and extremely spacious. Plenty of seating and lots of greenery and solid wifi make it a great place to set up shop for a bit, which I did as I sat in on a few work calls during my visit. They have a smaller but curated menu, both of food and beverages, with a real focus on the beans and expertly prepared coffee/espresso. They don't have many syrups or flavors, setting it up to let their roasts shine. I do like my coffee a little sweet so opted for the honey in my iced latte and it was delicious. For bites they have a few items, including an egg scramble, egg sandwich, sourdough pancakes (which is garnering them quite a following!) and my choice, the "Good Salad" which was greens, warm roasted potatoes, and fresh dill topped with a hazelnut green garlic crunch. I added the optional soft boiled egg for a bit of protein and it was great! I wish they sold the hazelnut green garlic crunch because I would put it on EVERYTHING. They also have a few baked goods available and I definitely snatched up the last chocolate walnut cookie while I was there. I'm not sure if they warmed it up a bit for me or they just make a magical gooey cookie but the chocolate chunks were melty and so decadent. Her drink was great, very similar to Roos Roast and very enjoyable (I tried a sip). My drink was good quality but I didn't prefer the Ope milk because of the distinct nutty and roasted taste of the sunflower seeds. Because I am lactose intolerant and that is the only option, I don't think I would come back here for coffee. I could tell by the taste aside from the milk that the coffee was good quality and brewed with great attention to detail. As for flavors, Espy only had two flavor options on their menu which is unique and has its own pros and cons. I love that the seltzer water is on the house. I would love to try some food here next time I come. Amanda was our barista. They were incredibly kind and eccentric in the best way. They made us feel comfortable and helped us navigate the menu well. Hopefully I have them as a barista again :) The overall vibe of the cafe is amazing. The merch is very cute and as a ceramicist, I really appreciate the handmade mugs, plates, planters, and so on. The open layout was spacious and I genuinely enjoyed being in there. I hope to come back soon and maybe just order a different drink to try,
