Went here on a Saturday afternoon with my family as we explored more of Downtown Westfield. There is street parking and designated lots dotted around. We just found a parking lot and parked. There are some tables and chairs in the front part of the shop so you can stay and enjoy as well as two benches outside if the weather is cooperative. The place is located on a side street and is pretty easy to find. They have a steady stream of customers coming in and out and they specialize in ice cream and cookies. They also have brownies as well. You can get them as ice cream sandwiches, an open faced cookie with ice cream on top (same with brownie), or just ice cream. There might be more I missed but I was preoccupied because one of my kids has multiple food allergies so we went in with not very high hopes, but it turns out they have all the ingredients printed out for you - so great news for those with complicated food allergies. Having said that, my kid could only have 2 cookies and 2 ice cream (chocolate, mint chocolate) flavors and it covers his favorite ice cream flavor of all time: chocolate. He's allergic to wheat, eggs, avocado, peanuts, tree nuts, kiwi, and pineapple and he didn't have a reaction. They got his ice cream from the back with a new spoon so no cross contamination. Major kudos there! We got: COOKIES AND CREAM SANDWICH: yep, cookies and cream ice cream between two cookies and cream cookies for my eldest who is a fan of everything cookies and cream. She really enjoyed this and ate most. I was impressed. The adults helped her finish it off. BROWN BUTTER DOUGHNUT (seasonal) + BLACKBERRY CRUMBLE SANDWICH: you can do split flavors so I did for the adults' treat. These were sandwiched between Snickerdoodle and Gooey Butter Cake Cookies. They will also split it for you if you want and make sure both halves have both flavors (yes, I wanted). Yum! DARK CHOCOLATE: my youngest got this in a kiddie cup. Yep, the one with food allergies. He ate it ALL and I didn't get a taste. I suppose that tells you a lot. The ice creams weren't too sweet but this might depend greatly on the flavors you get and the cookie(s). Ours were just right... though my husband said the cookies were maybe too much, haha. A great place to get an indulgent treat. And I'm glad my youngest was happy with his ice cream. You do have the option of getting them warmed at the end as well as toppings but my metabolism now really can't do additional goodies. Never mind what I already got. No regrets though! They're somewhat reasonably-okay priced... $4.50 for the kiddie cup and $9.19 for each ice cream sandwich (they are big and shareable so $4.60 per person?). However, I feel like I could have also finished one by myself if it were hot outside and I hadn't eaten in 2 hours. Okay, price isn't the most economical; just don't go regularly. I like how I didn't need to chug down a cup of water after the ice cream AND cookies so I was thoroughly pleased. The staff there are super friendly and helpful on top of all that! The tables look cleanish (I spotted tiny crumbs that were missed) but we wiped them down anyway like we usually do. I'll definitely be back when I'm in need of a treat! Love the concept but premium prices are a but much. Average of 9-10 bucks for ice cream is a bit wild but I guess the times we live in and based on location. Serving sizes are good- so it may be best to split one with someone. read more

Visited during a very busy time - Friday evening. Even though it was freezing cold outside, the cozy, warm establishment welcomed us with a sweet aroma. There was a rather long line (about ~4 groups in front of us). and though the people behind the counter seemed very busy they served us with a huge smile on their face. We were able to sample ice cream before buying and it made all the difference. Pictured is the brownie sandwich with their seasonal donut flavor and the toasted s'mores. I visited The Baked Bear on a whim in hopes of getting ice cream sandwiches on a super cold Saturday. My small group managed to find parking in a lot less than a block away and we quickly rushed to get to the shop. The space is large, clean, and well-organized, which is obvious from the moment you walk in. The person working behind the counter was friendly, efficient, and quickly handled the orders before us, so we didn't have a very long wait. They have some vegan and gluten-free options, gf is always appreciated by me. I opted to try their v/gf fudgy brownie cookie with old fashioned vanilla ice cream. I found the cookie to be very hard, and I don't think I could have attempted to eat my treat as a sandwich. The others in my group had soft cookies and were able to eat theirs as sandwiches. Not a huge deal, that's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Been to baked bear locations near the beaches in south jersey. This is similar, although the store is fairly small with only limited seating. Also just like the other locations, no parking lot. Need to look for metered parking It's decent. It will be close to a $10 ice cream, which puts it in line with summery. My experience was positive here, as the friendly workers made it easy to navigate the multiple steps towards creating my own custom ice cream sandwich. We went on a promo day where everyone got a free ice cream scoop, so I only paid for the cookies. Prices are expensive, but the sandwiches are huge and delicious. And, desert is served ! The staff was so friendly I loved it ! You choose your two cookies (mix and match if you'd like!) we did Nutella and macadamia nut cookies ! Then choose your ice cream. They let you taste test so we tasted s'mores, almond brittle cake, and mud pie. S'mores is more than your basic s'mores it feels rich. While I'm not an almond girlie that ice cream doesn't taste much like almonds it taste like a good old cake batter and that's a good compliment! But our favorite was mud pie with its sweet espresso taste it won us over. 10/10 . And to the ladies who work there today thank you you're amazing. Went to the Baked Bear with some friends after doing an escape room. We were all excited to try a bite of "The Baked Bear." Weirdly enough, some of the bites of The Baked Bear tasted like oven cleaner or just straight up paper towels. Around 1 hour after eating The Baked Bear, we all went through a troubling time in the bathroom. Even the next day, many of us woke up in absolute bowel pain. I'd avoid going to The Baked Bear in the near future. No idea what's going on in their Ice Cream Creation Lab, but i don't like it! read more

I was excited to check this place out, but I have to say I was disappointed. Everything is sold ala carte. If you want just a cookie, you can buy that by itself, as well as the ice cream. The cookies are UNDERCOOKED in my humble opinion. Did not like that. I don't know why they do that. And the ice cream options were slim. We went over the weekend (in February) in the evening. Its a small shop, with few tables and was very crowded. Those that had a table weren't moving even though they were clearly finished. There was also staff on break taking valuable table real estate. So we ate ice cream outside in February. It's a novel idea, but once was enough. I won't be going back. read more

This review is just about the cookies. I still haven't tried the ice cream or ice cream sandwiches yet but the cookies are amazing. If you like crumbl and all the others like them then you will love baked bear. Baked bear cookies are actually better than all the cookie places imo. They are the same size round but they are thinner. They have great flavors, always fresh and always soft but they are about 1/2 the price. Most of those cookie places charge about $5 per cookie. Baked bear is around $2.50. You get great flavors and more for your money. Love the cookies and love the concept of the cookie ice cream assembly. I need to try the in ice cream with the cookies soon but 5 stars if you just want a fresh box of cookies. read more

I visited today and was welcomed by a wonderful team of staff. They were incredibly friendly and offered recommendations. Are you kidding me? How is this place in business? The cookies are just awful - thin, falling apart when you pick them up, sickly sweet, and visually so unappealing - just total garbage. If you buy 2 cookies with ice cream to make a sandwich, it will cost you $10. And it will be a lousy ice cream sandwich at that. Do yourself a favor and skip the hype. This is probably the worst experience I have ever had with baked goods. The fact that this chain has expanded to multiple states with multiple locations is baffling.
