This is one of my favorite spots for homemade ice cream. There's at least 2 dozen flavors to choose from and everything I've had has been delicious. The staff is very friendly and even will let you sample flavors. They have classic flavors, as well as more interesting ones like Smurf! I tried it and it tastes like blue cotton candy. Apparently it's one of their most popular flavors, but I love their cherry vanilla. Either way, they have something for everyone. This icecream was mediocre at best. I ordered a scoop of the coffee heathbar(top). Barely any coffee flavor and minimal heath pieces. Also got a scoop of the "triple chocolate". This was the most non chocolately chocolate I've ever had. Super bland. Not rich at all. And aside from the icecream, it had little chocolate chunks in it. The lady wrapped my sugar cone in a thin napkin and by the time I got down to the cone, the napkin was completely stuck to it, making it inedible. Disappointed. I was riding my motorcycle along Route 22 when I saw a sign for ice cream, so I pulled in. I had actually seen Instagram posts from Scoops, and it looked so awesome that I had it bookmarked. This unassuming ice cream shop looks like it's in an old school countryesque house, complete with white banisters and rails. I got a standard vanilla soft serve cone with rainbow sprinkles. It was good, creamy, and cold. I got to try some of their Italian ices as well. I would pass on those. They also happen to have two different flavors of Dole Whip here, for all the vegans. I was looking for a nice ice cream joint to stop into on my birthday last month and this was definitely what I was looking for. They have an extensive selection of hard ice cream and they have all the classics. It's locally-owned and open all year, which is pretty great and rare for a creamery. This independent, local creamery has been around for so many years! When I was a kid in school, I would always see a lot of ads in regards to this place, including the words "Come Here For Ice Cream!". Up to now, I've never been here before. But now, thanks to my friend (not a Yelper) who convinced me to get a certain unique flavor here, I can finally say that I experienced this place for the first time. This place is located right off of US-22. You could also utilize the back roads to come here, which was what I did. The parking lot isn't that big, and on days when it's not crowded (like today), you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. Inside, there was a decent amount of tables and chairs for you to sit on and enjoy your treat. There were two sections of ice cream. Each section had two rows of flavors that were available for your desire. You could also sample a flavor to taste. Speaking of tasting, I sampled the "Smurf Berry" flavor, which was what my friend recommended me to try. I tried it, and I liked it. With that, I got a one-scoop sundae of that, and my friend got the two-scoop version. They had a huge range of toppings for you to choose from, and one topping was included with the one-scoop sundae. Now you're probably wondering how the Smurf Berry flavor tasted. Well, one thing for sure, was that it didn't taste like blueberries. There was a little bit of a fruity, tangy taste in it, but I couldn't picture an actual fruit inside my head as a result from the taste. I also tasted the vanilla in this flavor as well, which was good. There were also some marshmallow pieces mixed in, probably just to give off a unique texture. The color of the ice cream itself was blue, but again, this flavor didn't taste like blueberries. But one thing's for sure, is that your lips and teeth may turn blue when you're done eating your sundae. In regards to the topping, I chose Nestle Crunch pieces. Whipped cream and a cherry on top was included at no additional charge. Overall, the sundae was quite tasty. The staff overall was just okay. But just a heads-up that this place ONLY ACCEPTS CASH. They also have seating outside during nice days (not during a Nor'Easter like today). If you want to get fresh ice cream from a local, "non-chained place", then this place is it. In the mood for ice cream yesterday, so stopped by. As I was looking at the choices through the glass, I noticed that several "flavors" are just tubs of vanilla, with a bit of the confection thrown on top. I saw the cherry vanilla is a tub of vanilla ice cream, with a few cherries thrown on top. Same thing for Butterfinger, vanilla and a bit of crushed Butterfinger on top ... and many, many, others were the same. I noticed the "chip" flavors were also plain ice cream with a few chips thrown on top. They are not serving fully blended throughout flavors, which obviously must cost more. I don't know what percentage ice cream they are using, 10%, 14%, but from now reading other peoples reviews, there are several people saying that flavor was bland and chips, confections, were sparse. I know costs are up a lot now, but I decided to go somewhere else after seeing this, so I smiled and walked out. read more

An enjoyable experience with tasty ice cream! My husband and I brought my 1 1/2 year old son to try some of their ice cream. When we got there, their soft serve machines were being cleaned so we all ended up with some of their hard ice cream flavors. We tried the peanut butter crunch, cookies and cream and rocky road. They have a great set up for these COVID restrictions. Right when we got there an employee came outside to take our order. We had ice cream in our hands minutes after we arrived and then enjoyed it on their back patio which has a set up of numerous tables with umbrellas. We never realized how accessible this place is to the Scotch Plains downtown as well! read more

Sorry about my spelling I​ have a visual disability making spelling difficult for me. While their ice cream is awesome and I love their sugary cones their treatment of the customer is disgusting. If you are disabled and it isn't obvious or have a service dog do NOT come here! I tried to come here with my service dog and was told I couldn't come in and was asked if I was disabled and then was asked for the paperwork for my dog. I was going to ignore it and eat there any way however the situation became uncomfortable when the main server kept on staring at me and making remarks to her coworkers! Also,​ BTW service dogs do not have paperwork and under the ADA cannot be denied access since it is against the law however since their ice cream was good I didn't make a big deal about it. read more
