a friend (yes, i have one) picked up three bel air sandwiches today. he said that erica prepared the delicious lunch that fed four of us. i was amazed that my sandwich had so much flavor and that i was only able to finish one half of a sandwich. one corner of the bread was slightly chewy on my otherwise superb sandwich, and i don't spend any time eating at the bakery station, but i have previously picked up focaccia and banana bread that were wonderful. read more

I went here with my daughter on a saturday. It was perhaps, 10 am...there was nothing in the display. They had a few sticky buns so we decided to get one of those. Daughter and I waited for nearly 10 minutes before recieving our sticky bun. Pretty sure they forgot about me even though we were really the only ones in there. Got my sticky bun and took it home. I can not beleive they call this a sticky bun. There is no "sticky" anywhere on this thing and it is really dry. I was quite dissapointed. There was literally no flavor to the bun. Sandwich menu looks tasty but since my sticky bun was tasteless, im not so sure. I havent been back. read more

Thanks to Yelp. I discovered this place while I spent a rare weekday in downtown Salinas. It's a cute retro-looking place. The gal was very friendly. I ordered a Roast Beef on Sour Dough, which they said was fresh baked. Wow, that sandwich was big! There were generous slices of roast beef, a tasty tomato and spring mix for lettuce. The roast beef was "meh", sad to say. It was well done, seemed a bit salty...and just tasted like commercial roast beef. I passed on buying a cookie or brownie. Like one reviewer said, they must think bigger is better. I'll give the veggie sandwich a whirl, next time. I saw someone eating one, and I thought it looked really good. The sandwiches here are soooo good. Simple menu which is great. I always get the Bel-air you will love the chipotle aioli (spread) . They bake fresh daily which is why they never serve you day old bread. Their cookies are amazingly delicious. For all you with a severe sweet tooth get yourself the chocolate chip walnut cookie:D. I've tried most of their scones they are all yummy. the orange scone shouldn't have the orange pit or whole oranges thrown in it, they need to put orange zest!!! BEST sandwich place downtown. Really need a sixth star for this place. The young ladies that run this operation are professional, courteous and damn good at what they do! As soon as I walk through the door a Bel-Air is being made for me and i'm sorting through the assorted goodies that vary by the day. The Sinful cookie is hard to beat and the Scones are a special breakfast treat. They use buttermilk in the scone mix and the flavor pops when you put it in your mouth. The quiche is a delight and the ambiance can't be beat, its an old gas station turned photo shop turned bakery. These ladies will be there as long as they want and my patronage will only increase. read more

We stopped and had lunch at The Bakery Station on our way to Big Sur. The sandwiches were delicious as was the bread. We also shared an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and a protein bar and they were also fantastic. We loved our stop here and definitely plan to stop again on our next trip. I will say that the customer service could have been better but the food defiantly made up for it. read more

Haven't been here in about two years, have been moving around. Bel air is as great as ever. It just goes well. The staff tho! WHAT HAPPENED?!? No longer friendly the people there had resting B face no "hi, thank you, goodbye" it was a "what do you want?" With an attitude as I look at the menu. My boyfriend and I came here looking for cookies and we both agreed this was best cookie we have ever had. They are soft and moist. Just perfect! This place was great, went her with my boyfriend he had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the Bel Air. Sandwiches were not only delicious but super filling, had to take the rest home because we could both only finish half. The bakery itself has a fun feel and the women working were delightful! I am so happy we have the Bakery Station they have wonderful sandwiches. My favorite like others is the Bel Air it is just yummy goodness. Where else can you find a place that has homemade bread, gouda cheese and chipotle aioli. It can be a bit pricey but you can share the sandwich it is a good size. My husband says he can manage pretty good on his own. They also have a frequent buyer sandwich card, very nice. They have squirt soda and orngania yay. This place is also just so cute, it has a good vibe. I especially like all the gals they always have a smile. Parking can be a bit tricky but there is a parking lot just to the right. Please support this place I want this place to last, you will not be dissapointed. read more

Was in town for my daughter's softball tournament at the Salinas Sports Complex. Found this place on Yelp. It's a total gem. Delicious fresh baked bread and sandwich ingredients. I ordered 2 sandwiches and both were absolutely delicious. The chocolate chip scone was also amazing. Very nice, friendly staff.. I would have returned and gotten lunch again on Sunday but they are not open on Sundays. Looking forward to returning next time we are in Salinas. read more

I used to come here often and it's no longer what it used to be. The staff are unfriendly and almost rude. I ordered the bel air lunch combo and found the outside of my sandwich to be covered with the condiments and made with such sloppyness it was difficult to eat and overall unpleasant. Also, there was less than an ounce of turkey and only one small slice of bacon. This place is no longer worth my time or money. read more
