Stopped by after my hair appointment and picked up a BLT. I wants to try the breakfast sandwich but they stop serving breakfast at 11am. The sandwich was ready by the time I made it back from Brewjee Coffee. Lots of bacon! The bread was fresh and soft. There is no eating area, this restaurant is exclusively for take out.

Recession indicator? This used to be my favorite sandwich - but sadly can't say that anymore. $9 for pesto toast is just too much. The stinginess w the cheese and tomatoes is ridiculous. When closed flat - it looks like there's nothing in the sandwich. Also I'll add that I ordered this on Door Dash. I specifically requested - "please enough tomatoes to cover the sandwhich " bc the last one I ordered was just as bad - but I thought it was a one time thing. Nope! Looks like this is how they are being told to make this sandwhich now. Taking this as a sign it's time to make sandwiches at home. Finally this would be 1 star but the cookies arrived ok.

This was my first time visiting. I didn't realize they made sandwiches. I found this spot on DoorDash and thought, why not? It had mixed reviews, so I was taking a chance. There wasn't a seating area inside. When you approach the door, that's where they take orders, and the menu is on the glass window. About two people were waiting to order, and one was waiting for their order. The total for the two sandwiches was $19.40. The staff member who took my order was friendly. My mom ordered the same sandwich I did, called the Bel-Air sandwich. I didn't get a chance to photograph hers, but she was disappointed, saying she had high hopes. The bread was very soggy and didn't taste fresh. The portion size was good. I didn't eat mine that day, so I saved it for the next day. I was thinking to myself, "oh boy, it's going to be super soggy now I might have to change the bread." However, that was not the case! The sandwich was good, and the bread wasn't soggy like I thought it would be or compared to my mom's! I finished the whole thing comfortably, and y'all, I saved it for the next day in the refrigerator, so I was expecting soggy bread.

Came here for the first time today for lunch around 12pm. Parking was kind of hard to find, everyone is constantly moving in and out of spaces to grab and go but it wasn't too crazy. We ordered the bel air and igniter. Both sandwiches had their own special flair and flavor profiles. It was awesome. We also ordered a cookie, I forgot what it was exactly but it was something along the lines of chocolate chip, walnut, and oatmeal(?) I'm so wrong but it's okay it was something along delicious. It's a grab and go spot so, no sit ins but you can stand around and eat if you wanted to I suppose... cute place though! you wouldn't expect it to be a sandwich spot. the long lines will definitely have you curious if you didn't know what it was right away. Great and quick service. I love the vibes they're going for and the location great. Coffee, breakfast, movies, more coffee and so much more nearby. Love downtown Salinas

First off, if you didn't know about this place, you'd miss it because there are no signs anywhere. This place gives off hipster (and I mean Williamsburg, NYC) vibes. The interior is STILL closed due to COVID. I asked the manager there when they are going to open again, they said "this month". This place deals great sandwiches. I had the Tuna on brioche. Good amount of tuna & fixings. I'd come back. Price: $8.75. I didn't get chips or drink.

Pretty decent sandwhich shop. Food is always fresh. I've tried both the bel air and the caddy sandwiches. My go to is the bel air. Lunch hour is always busy, so plan accordingly. Maybe 5-15 minute wait period. Onsite parking is limited, so I'd suggest parking in the lot next to it. Customer service has been good too.

How cute is this sandwich shop? I was in a bind after class and needed something to eat when I stumbled across The Bakery Station. The shop was easy to navigate to; however, I had no idea it was inside of an old gas station. Maybe a large sign could help the confusion some customers like myself may have. I ordered ahead because I saw online that it was takeout only. The wait was no more than 10 mins. I ordered the BelAir -- turkey breast, bacon, gouda cheese, spring mix, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncinis with chipotle aioli on fresh sliced sourdough. The sandwich was fresh and yummy. The cost was $14.77 for my sandwich and a bag of chips. I would certainly come back to The Bakery Station, and recommend to friends.

Checked out this spot for the first time earlier this week from a coworkers recommendation. Taking off one star because they served expired chips (August 2023 when it's October 2023) with my sandwich. Sandwich was tasty though. Bread was soft, cilantro aioli was tasty, meat tasted better than other deli meat. And they offered Fresca which is one of my favorite soft drinks. Pretty good sandwich spot.

‼DO NOT EAT AT THE BAKERY STATION‼ I wouldn't be talking shit if THE BAKERY STATION would've stepped up and taken responsibility with what was in my sandwich to the health department, instead they denied to having any complaints that day. I didn't realize it would be such a cute place! Tiny, but very cute. The BLT has deliciously crispy thick bacon, which makes the soft white bread (NOT toast, FYI) the perfect contrast. The Banh Mi wannabe (can't remember the name, but it's on a French roll) was tasty, but could use more spice. This is a really affordable place. I love how they have kids' sandwiches for only 3.75! I've definitely overpaid elsewhere, and then my kid only eats half. Every sandwich was under $10.

I drive by here all the time and didn't know what it was until I Yelped in today. I decided to give it a go and I was very pleased. The customer service guy was SO nice. They have a lunch combo special that includes 1/2 sandwich, chips or cookie and a drink for $9.00. The lunch combo came in a brown bag that made me feel like my mom packed my lunch for school and I liked the nostalgia lol. I got the tuna and the 1/2 was plentiful for me. I will definitely be going back to try their other sandwiches and cookies.

This was my first time here. I ordered the "igniter" without the mayo. Despite that they had several people waiting, the service was quick and professional. The staff was very friendly and I really appreciated that. The food is fairly priced. When I got home I tried my sandwich and it was delicious. It gave me vibes of a Vietnamese Banh Mi and I loved it. The only issue I had was that I found a chicken bone in my sandwich (see photo). Thankfully I spotted it right before I took another bite, but I couldn't help thinking of what could've happened if I hadn't seen it. Other than the bone, the sandwich was amazing. However, I am not sure yet if I would go back.

a friend (yes, i have one) picked up three bel air sandwiches today. he said that erica prepared the delicious lunch that fed four of us. i was amazed that my sandwich had so much flavor and that i was only able to finish one half of a sandwich. one corner of the bread was slightly chewy on my otherwise superb sandwich, and i don't spend any time eating at the bakery station, but i have previously picked up focaccia and banana bread that were wonderful. read more

I went here with my daughter on a saturday. It was perhaps, 10 am...there was nothing in the display. They had a few sticky buns so we decided to get one of those. Daughter and I waited for nearly 10 minutes before recieving our sticky bun. Pretty sure they forgot about me even though we were really the only ones in there. Got my sticky bun and took it home. I can not beleive they call this a sticky bun. There is no "sticky" anywhere on this thing and it is really dry. I was quite dissapointed. There was literally no flavor to the bun. Sandwich menu looks tasty but since my sticky bun was tasteless, im not so sure. I havent been back. read more

Thanks to Yelp. I discovered this place while I spent a rare weekday in downtown Salinas. It's a cute retro-looking place. The gal was very friendly. I ordered a Roast Beef on Sour Dough, which they said was fresh baked. Wow, that sandwich was big! There were generous slices of roast beef, a tasty tomato and spring mix for lettuce. The roast beef was "meh", sad to say. It was well done, seemed a bit salty...and just tasted like commercial roast beef. I passed on buying a cookie or brownie. Like one reviewer said, they must think bigger is better. I'll give the veggie sandwich a whirl, next time. I saw someone eating one, and I thought it looked really good. Nice place, worth a shot to try. It feels good to support a local, instead of big box fast food. read more

The sandwiches here are soooo good. Simple menu which is great. I always get the Bel-air you will love the chipotle aioli (spread) . They bake fresh daily which is why they never serve you day old bread. Their cookies are amazingly delicious. For all you with a severe sweet tooth get yourself the chocolate chip walnut cookie:D. I've tried most of their scones they are all yummy. the orange scone shouldn't have the orange pit or whole oranges thrown in it, they need to put orange zest!!! BEST sandwich place downtown. Service is also great, its family owned and the girls love making people feel welcomed and making people delicious sandwiches. read more

Really need a sixth star for this place. The young ladies that run this operation are professional, courteous and damn good at what they do! As soon as I walk through the door a Bel-Air is being made for me and i'm sorting through the assorted goodies that vary by the day. The Sinful cookie is hard to beat and the Scones are a special breakfast treat. They use buttermilk in the scone mix and the flavor pops when you put it in your mouth. The quiche is a delight and the ambiance can't be beat, its an old gas station turned photo shop turned bakery. These ladies will be there as long as they want and my patronage will only increase. read more

We stopped and had lunch at The Bakery Station on our way to Big Sur. The sandwiches were delicious as was the bread. We also shared an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and a protein bar and they were also fantastic. We loved our stop here and definitely plan to stop again on our next trip. I will say that the customer service could have been better but the food defiantly made up for it. read more

My boyfriend and I came here looking for cookies and we both agreed this was best cookie we have ever had. They are soft and moist. Just perfect! We also had the bread pudding and it was good as well. They are very clean and they have a great variety of baked good and sandwiches. Can wait to come back :) read more

Haven't been here in about two years, have been moving around. Bel air is as great as ever. It just goes well. The staff tho! WHAT HAPPENED?!? No longer friendly the people there had resting B face no "hi, thank you, goodbye" it was a "what do you want?" With an attitude as I look at the menu. I'll keep going, the food is great but the staff fell off, what happened... Might as well make it a drive thru read more

This place was great, went her with my boyfriend he had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the Bel Air. Sandwiches were not only delicious but super filling, had to take the rest home because we could both only finish half. The bakery itself has a fun feel and the women working were delightful! All the breads are made fresh daily too! Sandwiches run about $5.95- $9.50 and they have a frequent buyer sandwich card! read more

I am so happy we have the Bakery Station they have wonderful sandwiches. My favorite like others is the Bel Air it is just yummy goodness. Where else can you find a place that has homemade bread, gouda cheese and chipotle aioli. It can be a bit pricey but you can share the sandwich it is a good size. My husband says he can manage pretty good on his own. They also have a frequent buyer sandwich card, very nice. They have squirt soda and orngania yay. This place is also just so cute, it has a good vibe. I especially like all the gals they always have a smile. Parking can be a bit tricky but there is a parking lot just to the right. Please support this place I want this place to last, you will not be dissapointed. read more

The sandwich was made with fresh-baked bread. The turkey bacon lettuce tomato and avocado was so much better than what you can get it Subwayz sandwiches. I sat and slowly ate my sandwich and savored every bite. I usually say grace before meal. After ate my sandwich I said Grace again. read more

Was in town for my daughter's softball tournament at the Salinas Sports Complex. Found this place on Yelp. It's a total gem. Delicious fresh baked bread and sandwich ingredients. I ordered 2 sandwiches and both were absolutely delicious. The chocolate chip scone was also amazing. Very nice, friendly staff.. I would have returned and gotten lunch again on Sunday but they are not open on Sundays. Looking forward to returning next time we are in Salinas. read more

While the outside is nondescript, the bakery itself is beautiful on the inside and the selection of baked goods is extensive and spectacular. So many unique and tempting creations. It is difficult to choose one thing to order because there are so many that look amazing. We tried what they call a roulette which is a round layered pastry that is loaded with flavor. It was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet but just right. The disappointing factor at Gourmet Central Bakery is the coffee. It was incredible weak and flavorless. Not sure if it was the beans they use or the mix of water to coffee, but it was hugely disappointing. It did not compliment whatsoever their incredible baked goods. I hope they will focus on providing beverages that match the quality and creativity of their pastries. I would say check out GCB for all of their incredible baked goods, just don't order coffee until they make some changes. Their baked goods deserve, as do customers, a satisfying coffee pairing.

I chatted her up a bit and found out they opened in 2021 and it's a family business. The recipes are family recipes. Luv that! Also I had to ask about the prices, there are no prices marked for the baked goods. The case had cookies, cream pies (whole and slices), croissants, muffins, scones, cream puffs, eclairs, mini fruit tarts, cheesecake (whole and slices), and danishes. They all were just so gorgeous. Sitting so pretty in the case. We bought a carrot cake muffin, slice of banana cream pie, a Grandpa David's peanut butter cookie, and a chocolate chip cookie. The cashier packaged everything carefully and provided napkins and forks. The muffins were big, fat and hefty sized. The carrot cake muffin was moist but not so much that it fell apart. So darn good. The frosting was heavenly, not too sweet and just the prefect consistency. I devoured that right away in the car. While I was inhaling the muffin, Hubs scarfed down the banana cream pie slice. The cookies were nice "biggish" size. These cookies were moist, which I prefer over crisp crunchy ones. Grandma Dave's PB was one of the best PB cookies I've ever had. They are also have breakfast menu and lunch menu (burgers, sandwiches, and salads). The place is very small with few two person tables. It's more of takeout place.
