I have came here a few times and the cupcakes are really good and the service is good. Just basic service I would say since they just ask you what you'd like and they bag it up and give it to you. They also answer any questions you have about the cupcakes. The store is superrr cute and the aesthetic of it is great. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because they sometimes run out of cupcakes before closing time and it's unfortunate to go all the way over there when there are no more cupcakes. The hours are also super odd for a bakery since they aren't open on weekends and they open for only 5 hours a day. :/ great cupcakes but it's unfortunate you only have 5 hours a day to get them and they are typically when everyone is at work. read more

Dessert great here, though is it just me or is staff extremely rude here? Seem to be bothered by presence of people. Or it feels awkward to ask questions? That's been my experience a handful of times. Maybe improvement on customer service only thing I can recommend. Character goes a long way. read more

Not overly too sweet just the perfect amount. I wish they have the specials on their daily menu. I would like to try the banana cream cupcake but it wasn't available on a Thursday. I don't live in the area so it be a long commute to get them. They're also a reasonably good price for cupcakes. Eating 4/5 I enjoy the carrot cupcake. Not a perfect rating 5/5 because there was a lack of service when my partner and I enter into the store. There was no employee to greet us at the five minutes of entering the store. Wasn't in the happy spirit to help me with my indecisive cupcake options. read more

My go-to cake place! I have ordered several cakes over the past year, and they are delicious. I have ordered naked mocha, half red velvet and carrot, chocolate, and lemon cakes! They have been phenomenal. She accommodates what you would like, and that is fantastic. My parents cannot eat that many sweets anymore and her cakes have been perfect. read more

Glad i got some delicious cupcakes here today, to make up for the cupcakes we got this past weekend at another city, that wasn't a 5 star experience. We got the Chocolate Chocolate, Mocha Chocolate, Red Velvet, Lemon Cheesecake, and Banana Cupcake-- Chocolate chocolate is definitely our favorite... but everything was super moist and tasty. I ordered the Strawberry cream cupcake (it was on their daily special list). Firstly, the only cream on the cupcake was the whipped cream on the top. No strawberry cream. There were fresh strawberries as the filling for the cupcake. It didn't necessarily taste like a cupcake. It had the consistency and texture of a cornbread muffin. Not impressed. i wishhhh they would answer their instagram dms, or their phone calls! if you're trying to place an order, you have to go in person because they never pick up, and when you do go in person there's this one young male worker who wears glasses that's not friendly and doesn't even crack a smile, or just don't place an order at all! read more

I give every place two tries before I write a bad review and this place was equally terrible twice. The only employee we saw was on the phone for a long time before they even acknowledged us, it was like pulling teeth when we did talk, and we received no information at all. In her calendar there was one opening for Friday *which she shared to our face (my mom was with me)* but she said she was booked with no explanation as to why she had written there was an opening. Terrible ambiance and unnecessary hostility. I live in Santa Cruz but have family in Salinas. I will be going to "The Buttery" instead. Extremely lazy and just disappointed, they were open for 20 minutes (this happened a few minutes ago) and had no display cupcakes. It gave a very negative energy. If you read this, I hope your day turns around for the better. read more

This place is pretty awesome! I've always had pretty good experiences, and all of the desserts are mine blowing. Really tasty! Unfortunately, today I had a less savory customer service experience from a younger gentleman at the register, he didn't look like he wanted to be at work today so I cut so I cut my purchase in half and left because the taste in my mouth was not cupcakes but bitter. I went in to buy A large order and left with only a quarter of what I originally wanted. Not sure if the owner would be too excited about this. Oh well, I still highly recommend this wonderful shop. Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2014 Dolly Cake and Supplies is the sweetest spot in Salinas. We came here today (Saturday) and randomly found this cupcakes, cookies and bakery supply shop. Upon exerting my family and I were greeted by Ella. As you enter there is a table on your right with cute decor for cakes and such. On the left is a coffee station with coffee, sugar and creamer. Towards the back of the shop is a glass display with the most delicious cupcakes and cookies. We ordered a few cupcakes and cookies to go. The first cupcake we tried was the apricot cheesecake cupcake- this had a white cake which was moist with a perfect crumb texture, cream cheese layer on-top and in the center the most delectable apricot jam that was from the top and generously filled all the way to the bottom. The case had cookies, cream pies (whole and slices), croissants, muffins, scones, cream puffs, eclairs, mini fruit tarts, cheesecake (whole and slices), and danishes. They all were just so gorgeous. Sitting so pretty in the case. We bought a carrot cake muffin, slice of banana cream pie, a Grandpa David's peanut butter cookie, and a chocolate chip cookie. The cashier packaged everything carefully and provided napkins and forks. The muffins were big, fat and hefty sized. The carrot cake muffin was moist but not so much that it fell apart. So darn good. The frosting was heavenly, not too sweet and just the prefect consistency. I devoured that right away in the car. While I was inhaling the muffin, Hubs scarfed down the banana cream pie slice. The cookies were nice "biggish" size. These cookies were moist, which I prefer over crisp crunchy ones. Grandma Dave's PB was one of the best PB cookies I've ever had. The cakes arrived during our ceremony so I was unable to see them prior to our guests. She had added flowers with pink trim and yellow daisies on the wedding cake. The flowers were suppose to be white. We ended up having to rip them off and use a centerpiece to fix it. The birthday cake was clearly the one she had still been working on and never finished. It was missing the entire topper I had asked for and chocolate chips were sprinkled on top instead like a last minute "gotta fill the space somehow" thought. After all this...
