This is located 1 block west of Queen Anne Ave N on top of the hill and the building south of McClure Middle (Jr. High when I went) School and is easily mistaken as part of the school. I learned soccer at the play field, Little League Baseball, and basketball in the gym. I learned to swim next door at the QA Aquatic Center. There is an outdoor playground, 3 baseball diamonds, and playfields (soccer usually). Locals call the playfield "Big Howe" although there is a sign on QACC that says "West Queen Anne Field House." Anybody who lives on QA that hasn't used QACC didn't grow up here. Lots of activities for all ages from toddlers to seniors. They have art classes, exercise, dance, martial arts, serve meals, etc... My kid attends the Fresh Air Preschool here and the Director has a Montessori certificate. 1 teacher per eight students and it's very affordable. They have MWF or TuTh. If they had a hotel here the Village People would've made a song: "It's fun to play at the QACC!"

They also have a room full of toys, huge play kitchen, puzzles, tumble mats and more. Fresh Air Preschool is the best - you can choose 2 days/week, 3 days/week, or 5 days/week. Very affordable and the teacher is Montessori certified. Both of my kids attended and loved it there - she does a fantastic job with social, emotional, and cognitive learning. School age care is also fantastic. They always seem to pack in so many activities for the kids and make it all look so effortless. We were usually pulling our son away when it was time to go. The adult pottery class is a must try - huge room to work in, lots of wheels, tools, etc. Best part is you can use the room ANY TIME the community center is open while taking classes. The weight room is also open any time and offers drop in or a low monthly fee. This place is a must if you live near!

I entered the GSC once, on International Make Music Day, when they hosted a ukulele jam session…read more Upon entering, I was warmly greeted and invited to join the others waiting to jam in a room towards the end of the building but directly ahead of the entrance. Staff and residents joined the jam to play, sing and watch. It's so wonderful to see such dedication to their community, offering so many opportunities for their own residents to be a part of something greater, a plethora of activities and time to meet neighbors and friends. We came here for the annual Greenwood Car Show Pancake Breakfast. Such a fun event and the…read morevolunteers are all so friendly and made us feel like we were royalty. For a very small price, we got 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs, fruit and sausage along with OJ, coffee and ice water. The food was awesome! There was just enough to keep us full while we wandered the car show, and it was so very tasty. We are going to make this an every year event! You should try it!

There are plenty of cars and play areas with big blocks and little play stands and areas for all ages, from first starting to sit up to toddling to enjoy. He really enjoyed watching the other kids and crawling around, discovering neat things to play with. It is a huge space in the community center with a nicely sized parking lot. I don't put my son in day care so it is great to have convenient, indoor, free spaces like this in Seattle. Highly recommended for parents to little ones!

My daughter was not welcomed at the ballet dancing class for 5-7 years old. There were no music, no…read moreinstructor's smile or friendliness although my daughter stepped into the class and we were waiting there inside the class more than 5 minutes looking at them starting the class as if we were invisible. My daughter was too shy and scared to go to the instructor's place because even tho we were only several steps away from her, she ignored us. I could not change another class for her because I was told that it is considered refund and they could not refund me anything. But I would not dare to take my daughter to that cold class again to "try" as the front desk staff recommended us to do it. Perhaps some sort of racism, but it's fine, keep going your way.

This is a small senior center but very busy…read more They have a wide variety of programs- some exercise classes- gentle ; daily lunches, puzzles; meetings re aging; a social worker who is busy and very helpful. The director and activities coordinator work really hard and often are taking phone calls and available to people. I rarely go- as I still work and I go to gyms which have more strength workouts. I just went to a presentation re legal forms for POA, POF HCD and more. People are/were at all stages of working on these- our needs were so nicely answered.

When I swam and played water polo for Innis Arden (Northern Division - Seattle Summer Swim League)…read moreapproximately 1999 through the summer of 2010, Blue Ridge was one of our fellow North Division pools. We came here for various competitions and I enjoyed the pool. The area around the pool deck was small, but with enough space we could still line up behind the blocks without feeling too cramped. A main building housed concessions and the locker rooms. Parking for the larger events could stretch up and down the street(s), so I made a point of getting here earlier if I could. One of the takeaways from my time competing here was that a small pool deck could help create a cozy ambiance during the swim meet. We got our spot with a towel or blanket, but we were also squished in close enough that we did not forget swimming was a team sport. That made an impact about pre-teen age when 6 year olds just starting out might be on one side of our blanket set up on the pavement and seniors in high school on the other side.
