This was my first time staying here and I LOVED it! I come to Lake Arthur frequently on business and will stay here from now on. This adorable boutique hotel has 8 rooms, each themed and named for family owners life. This hotel is a renovated bank and there is even a room with an original bank vault! The front desk is a replica of the old bank teller window. There is a bank vault behind the front desk that is renovated as a wine vault...I couldn't help myself, picked up a bottle of wine! The staff was so kind and attentive and the second floor has the most lovely balcony too if you are ever in Lake Arthur, do yourself a favor and stay here!

Walk five minutes to the park overlooking the beautiful lake, then to the excellent Regatta restaurant built on piers over the lake.

I always book my rooms through the Hilton app because it's quick and easy, and I rely heavily on…read morereviews before choosing a property. This hotel surprisingly had 4.4 stars on Google and 3.6 on Yelp. We decided to give it a shot. We stay at Hilton properties often and haven't had issues. We checked in around midnight and needed to get straight to bed. As soon as we walked into the room, we were hit with a strong smell of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. I paid the upgrade fee to get a room on the first floor near an exit door. When I went into the bathroom, it was obvious the shower had not been cleaned. There was a dirty, wet towel on the shower floor and the floor itself was filthy. We were only a few hours from home, so I skipped showering altogether. It felt more like a rundown motel than a Hilton. The bed wasn't much better--the fitted sheet kept popping off because it wasn't the correct size. We were exhausted, so we tried calling the front desk for help, but the phone just rang and rang. Does anyone even work here? Like I said, we needed to get straight to bed. Personal reason for why I wasn't able to go to the front desk when we arrived. On this trip alone, I stayed at four different Hilton properties and didn't have a single problem anywhere else. This experience was completely unacceptable. Pros: - Great location (right off the highway with lots of nearby stores) - The room itself was spacious - Despite everything, I was eventually able to get some sleep Cons: - Strong smoke odor in a non-smoking room - Shower was dirty with a used towel left behind - Incorrect bed sheets - Zero customer service Unfortunately this was my experience and I really wish it weren't this bad. This stay did not meet Hilton standards at all.

Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! Only lost a star because…read more 1) the elevator and hallways don't have AC which is tough in the summer 2) the hot and cold were mislabeled in our room shower, like turning it to cold made the water hot and vice versa, which took us a while to figure out!! With that said, the main reason for such a high rating is the breakfast. For such a quaint hotel in a small town I was impressed with the variety of options. A DIY waffle bar, various grab and go items, hot food, pastries, coffee and More! Plus all the staff seemed very pleasant

Very simple hotel decor, just a few cheap beach scene canvases on the walls. nothing fancy and no closet, just a board on the wall with hooks. It did have small TV, refrigerator, coffee pot, hair dryer and microwave. The floor was not vacuumed I saw dead bugs near the toilet area and front entry. So they did vacuum it for me. I thought it was much better than the expensive Hampton you basically get the same thing, except the Hampton has all non smoking rooms and they provide more towels and a actual closet which I don't use hardly at all unless I unpack my suitcase. The Hampton floor needed vacuuming too and free breakfast bar was the same, just sausage and scrambled eggs, frozen potatoes, waffles, cereal and no salsa at the Day Inn. Mediocre food at both with separate cafe. I did not visit any of the cafes. I did go the breakfast bar, but had to wait for more food to be cooked at the Days Inn because an old man hoarded it all and packed it in a bag to take with him. I asked if they were going to put out more food and the manager came to cook more since the girl had already left. I think she had to do laundry they seem to have limited staff. The hotel clerk is friendly and picked the best non-smoking room for me by showing me the map with the smoking rooms. You really don't have to worry about smoking since there are no second levels or rooms above you in the whole place. I did not use the pool, but looked clean. Shopping, gas station, and fast food restaurants near by. Kind of a tourist area. Gift shop, poker casino and restaurant next to hotel, within walking distance. Recommend if you are on a budget.

Clean and comfortable as every Days Inn is. What more to say I do not know. Am just writing to reachread more
