    Beautiful yard with huge trees

Location location location close to all the attractions and restaurants, best place to stay on the Keys! Resort is beautiful with Banyan trees surrounding the villas, so peaceful yet in the middle of the action, highly recommended!!

We have stayed at The Banyan a number of times over the past 15 years and have always enjoyed it. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we bought a week five years ago. The location cannot be beat. It is one block off Duval st and within walking distance of everything. If you fly into Key West airport, resist the urge to rent a car and just take a cab from the airport. The complex consists of six- 1800s era homes which have been turned into one and two bedroom timeshares/suites. Each room is a bit different due to the existing architecture. We've stayed in a two bedroom unit, a one bedroom unit and a unit with a sleeping loft and enjoyed each one. Depending on the unit's location, traffic noise can be a bit loud and the ever present "time challenged" roosters who crow day and night are an annoying bit of local flavor. The landscaping is absolutely gorgeous. You really feel like you are in a tropical paradise. There are two smallish pools and a tiki bar. They never seem to feel overly crowded. The tiki bar has free coffee for the early risers. Parking is a challenge. They have a couple of small lots on site (where timeshare owners get first dibs) and an overflow lot a block or so away. I've parked in both with no problem. Parking is paid but hey, it's Key West. Parking is a horror everywhere in Old Town. I have always found the housekeeping staff to be accommodating. The housekeeping terms are clearly spelled out in advance. Heck, they even wash and fold your laundry for $6.00 per load. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can rent bicycles on site for $25 per week and the staff is full of tips on activities and restaurants. The towel/key deposits are a bit annoying. However, given the areas "party town" reputation and the college students that surge in a couple of times a year, I guess I understand why they do it. Rates are pretty reasonable given the average lodging cost in the Keys. If you are two couples traveling together, try for a 2 bedroom unit and share costs. That make sit down right reasonable. It's great to have a living room and kitchen to hang out in. As the Governator says, I'll be back...

This is the perfect place! I couldn't even try to find anything wrong..... The location, the ambiance with the trees, the nice updated rooms, the cute little bar, the secluded pool, the staff, the price.... If I could give it 10 stars I would! I live in south Florida and this made me feel like I was in another world. Vacation spot for sure..... I will DEFINITELY be back! Love this place! Happy is an understatement ... I feel blessed and thankful..... So glad I found this place!(-; PARADISE= Banyon Resort!

My wife has been coming here for years and brought me for my first time this year. These are apartment style rooms, which is great since we were able to cook for ourselves a couple times! The proximity to Duval Street and all of the downtown area is amazing. We rented bikes for the week and that was all we needed! The staff was friendly and helpful, and they kept the grounds clean daily. Would highly recommend. This resort also has a really cool history of you're into it!

Location, location, location! The Banyan resort is in the heart of Key West and walking distance to EVERYTHING! The hotel is charming with wrap around white porches, beautiful lush foliage, intimate pools, shaded flowery walkways and cool front desk staff. We stayed in a one bed room apartment and it was HUGE! We had a full and functional kitchen, living room with pull out couch (which was super uncomfortable), comfy bed and spacious bathroom. We even had our own private wrap around porch and pool! We only shared the pool with 3 other apartments which was NICE! Our little Key West home away from home was perfect! One of the downfalls is that there is no front desk or house keeping staff after 11PM and parking being $20... But hey it's Key west and everywhere charges for parking. The Banyan Resort is a timeshare so the resort gives priority on property parking to time share owners and then non-timeshare guests. We did not have a timeshare but arrived at noon and were able to park on site. So I guess the key is arriving early to get a spot! Get the ultimate Key West experience and live like a resident in the Conch Republic and stay at the Banyan Resort. It is absolutely wonderful and a nice change from the typical chain hotel experience!

    1 bedroom with queen bed

Very nice place, especially if you need a Multiple bed option. The staff is very nice and the property is well cared for. We stayed in a 1 bedroom that offered a mini kitchen, dinette and a living room with a pull out bed. Additional amenities: Two pools (1 adult only) and a hot tub plus a tiki bar. Off-street parking for $25/day. The positive and the minus was the location. Great location for walking to Duval but woke up at all hours due to our location facing the street.

The Banyan Resort is amazing. It's our last day here and we're enjoying it poolside. Very friendly staff and a chill environment.

The breakfasts for the price taste dismal and lower quantity. 2 eggs bacon, toast, and chopped potatoes a bit over $20 as most other dishes plus smaller sizes if you just want a donut or similar. The vibe I get is for breakfast this place is for guests who have a hotel package that includes free breakfasts. They also charge a 18% mandatory "service charge" and of course another line for the tip. We didn't do dinner here. I hope its better than the breakfast. 2. We booked under The Edge Chase Sapphire Reserve so its $100 property credit and free breakfasts for 2. When you consider "service charges" tips, taxes, and determine what the credit can be used for, it becomes a bit confusing. I know for a fact that laundry is not included, neither is the $50/day valet parking. Sort of an resort advantage to keep the guest guessing. Drinks food, spa i know are included with the $100. The valet guy was cool and informative. Considering the small island size and the cost of everything, this was a great stay. The room and balcony overlooking Malery Square plus the ocean and Sunset Island were fantastic. I have stayed at many locations over the years and this was by far the best. Pegasus on Duval is a dump. Both Hyatts are nice but on east side of the island so transportation becomes an issue. Do you really want to drive close to Duvall....if you can find a space, then pay for parking? This place is 2 blocks from Sloppy Joe's, Hogsbreath, next to Malerly Square and sunset pier. Walking distance to the hot spots at night.

They said basically it is what it is and we have to deal with it. One night they moved us to another room and they were acting like they were doing us a favor. It was major problem for us. second night they moved us to our room which has broken AC And gave us boxed fan to cool off. Front desk manager is clueless and don't know how to handle issues and he has kids working for him who do not know how to handle anything. They are like teenagers. I would never ever stay there again and warn anyone not to there. Oh you will wake up 5am because of dumpster trucks getting the trash and it takes like 20 min. Another thing is their damn roosters , they start 4am and won't let you sleep. Jesus, it was 3 days of hell!

Check-in was busy when we arrived, but the staff remained friendly, patient, and accommodating. We've stayed here several times over the years, including during the renovations, so we've seen the resort through all its phases. It's wonderful to see everything almost completed, and the property looks great. Throughout every visit, the staff has always gone above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. One thing we've learned is that if you have a special request, just ask , they're happy to help whenever they can. Our two-bedroom suite was perfect for our family. We love the layout and found it incredibly comfortable. While many guests prefer the ocean-view rooms, we actually enjoy them, even with the occasional cruise ship in the harbor. Besides, you're in Key West! Take a walk and explore, you'll find gorgeous ocean views all around the island. The location truly couldn't be better. You're within walking distance of Duval Street, Mallory Square, great restaurants, shopping, and so many Key West attractions. We also had dinner at the newly decorated Lolita's Coastal Cocina, and it was absolutely delicious. A special thank you to Damir K., who has been wonderful throughout our stay. His hospitality, along with the rest of the staff, is one of the many reasons we keep coming back. Keep up the great work, Opal Key...we're already looking forward to our next visit!

We also enjoyed having pool access. The pool was definitely the highlight. It is saltwater and has separate adults-only and children's sections, which was a huge plus. The pool attendants were wonderful, and the pool manager did an exceptional job. Their service is the main reason I would give this hotel three stars instead of fewer. Unfortunately, housekeeping was very slow. Our room was not serviced until around 4 p.m. most days and was not serviced at all on Sunday. This was especially odd because housekeeping staff could be heard speaking loudly in the hallway very early in the morning. We also had one very uncomfortable experience at the hotel bar. A heavily intoxicated gentleman was yelling racial slurs while another woman played country music loudly from her phone. The bartender was alone, and there did not appear to be any security support nearby. We left immediately. Ironically, we had planned to attempt a little ghost-conjuring of our own one evening, given Key West's spooky reputation, but our plans were quickly interrupted by the very drunk man in the lobby yelling racial slurs. It was certainly not the supernatural encounter we had in mind. The hotel does have beach access, although we avoided the beach because of the significant seaweed issue, which was not the hotel's fault. Overall, Casa Marina has a beautiful pool, comfortable rooms, and a convenient location, but the housekeeping delays and bar incident made the experience feel inconsistent.
