I like the fact that they "play and stay" I never worry about them (a little) as if I left him to stay with friends ect.

My dog passed the initial introduction phase of her interview and I left her for the day. I loved watching her interact with the camp bow wow team & other dogs in the playgroup on their cameras. When I came to pick her up, she came out so happy and was loving up on the staff, her whole butt was wiggling around. They brought me out a gift bag and a super cute picture of her on her first day. They offer two great "first timer" special packages. Needless to say, she has gone back for 2 days of daycare since and absolutely loves it! The staff is friendly and always has sweet things to say about my dog. The facility is squeaky clean. Their hours are perfect. I'm ecstatic that I found them! Highly recommend!

The day care has been the best investment for my dog to be properly socialized with new people and dogs of all sizes. This has kept him in check when we have company at home. He has not become too protective or dominate over anyone in the house and I credit Fur the Love of Dogs atmosphere for that. Their overnight options are also wonderful and my Rhodesian Ridgeback has been more than happy to come back for stays in the slumber party room with an employees attention on him all night. (They stay in the room with the pets) that is unless you book the private bed and breakfast suites. I give them five stars all around! Thank you for everything you do at Fur the Love of Dogs. My daughter definitely had confidence in leaving her dog there overnight, especially during trips. I can't provide any info on the cost, however. Note: her dog was ferrel for a very long time so he can be a bit difficult to handle at times. That was not a problem with her dog at that location. They treated my daughter and dog very well.

I'm kind of annoyed with their trainers however. When I first met Kaitlyn the trainer, she explained that Tops offers different training options for clients: board and train, day training, group classes, private lessons, etc. But after I took her beginning class, she absolutely insisted that Pumpkin has to do the board and train program. No way. I am not dumping my dog there for 3 or 4 weeks. Part of the problem is that some of the training methods there can be pretty harsh, which makes me wonder what might be happening to my dog when I am not there to watch and participate in his training program. Another problem there is the trainers at Tops act like they invented prong collars. They did not. MANY TRAINERS use prong collars. I currently train with Bill Balatsos in Palatine, IL. He recommends prong collars for most dogs. So does Jeff Hackanson, the head trainer at Dog Style Inc in Vernon Hills. The trainers at Lakeshore K9 in Highland Park also recommend prong collars. Tops didn't invent the prong collar. A lot of different trainers use them. If you want to learn how to correct bad behavior with a prong collar, Tops isn't your only option. There are other options, and they won't shove their board and train programs down your throat.

Finally decided to board/train after hesitating for quite awhile because we weren't sure if being away from us would do more harm. Wow , can't say enough about the training he received at Tops from Selena . He was boarded for three weeks and now we are a much happier family. He doesn't fight walks , does not bite on his leash and pretty much follows all commands . He is starting to play much better , no more counter surfing , jumping is improving. We definitely recommend Tops for training. The front office does lack customer appeal rarely did we get a greeting or can we help you . Most times we had to make ourselves known or we would sit there for a bit. I totally understood when they were busy but that wasn't always the case. Having said that we were there for training and our dog did improve so ultimately we got what we went for.

It was the same the next morning, so I took him to emergency care since my vet didn't have any open appointments. I noticed he had several burrs, the painful kind in his tail and fur. The vet found burrs in his ears and after Knocking him out and X-rays we were told nothing was wrong that they could see except a little swelling in his hindquarters. The next day he was back to running around his yard and gas been the same since. My vet bill was astronomical, and no-one has called to see how he is. And I paid extra for walks where ge picked up these burrs.

Our dog, Remi, has enjoyed their daycare, boarding, grooming, and most recently, a training class. The team has been absolutely fantastic to work with, and it's clear that each member genuinely loves what they do. In a time when customer service often feels lacking, especially post-COVID, their dedication is truly refreshing. Their prices are very reasonable, and I always feel confident knowing that Remi is in excellent hands. On a side note, my husband and I visited unexpectedly on the first day, and they kindly gave us a tour right away, which really eased our minds about their care for the pups. Overall, I'm extremely impressed with everything they offer! We even got a cute little holiday paw print gift which was such a nice surprise!

The employee that groomed my dog struggled to have appropriate customer service interaction with me and attempted to gaslight me that my dog wasn't bleeding despite the blood on her fur and around her nail. Talked to a manager and was told that this technician has worked there for ten years and this happens that she cuts too short and struggles with social interaction. The manager was empathetic and understanding that we will not be going back there. Be aware before you decide to take your dog for grooming and other services.
