Came here for dinner. We walked in out of the freezing cold and it was warm. We were greeted right away and sat in the dining room area behind the bar. Our server greeted us right away and asked if we wanted anything to drink. He kept checking in on us throughout the email. The ambiance was very mellow with a candle at the table. We ordered the brussel sprouts and mussels. These were appetizers and they were HUGE portions. The brussel sprouts had a good crunch to them while soft in the inside. The maple and walnuts were a nice touch and texture to the dish. The mussels were big and all of them were open. It tasted fresh. The broth was delicious and tasted like it's been cooked for a while. The garlic bread was so tasty and good for soaking up the broth. I ordered the Parmesan eggplant. The spaghetti was ever so slightly over cooked, but still good. This is a nice restaurant and nice patio in the summer . I gave it an four . But I had dinner there with my daughter and a friend and I ordered the mussels. It came in a large portion which was good but there was hardly anything in them and a few that didn't open . I couldn't get a good taste of oysters as they were so small . The sauce was very good that you dipped your bread in . My daughter got the salmon and said it was alittle dry . Our server. Sierrra was great . Checked on us occasionally and was friendly. Were it not for the obvious shrinkflation, I may have given Mezzo 3 stars. But unfortunately, the mains and appetizer was clearly shrunk, and for $120+ with tip, I expect better. Here's the details: my lychee martini had no lychee; my daughter's pepperoni pizza came without pepperoni; an order of calamari was VERY light on calamari - very heavy on peppers (love peppers but come on it's frozen product, at least be generous); one diner's pasta was served on a tiny plate with like four shrimp; and my short rib was really closer to a beef stew texture, already broken into small pieces and not on the bone - for $28. Bright spots: the diner at our table who had pasta said it was absolutely delicious. And the service was attentive, friendly and went the extra mile. Service good. Food average. Mezzo!!! I visited in 2019 and finally made it back tonight and it was just absolutely superb! Brian was our server and he is the BEST hands down. My group of 6 and I made it out to here to celebrate the birthday of a lovely friend. Making a reservation was easy and so was parking in the lot nearby. The restaurant itself is dimly lit and intimate. My only complaint is that it is insanely loud. But otherwise it is lovely. The food is fantastic. I went with the Orecchiette and it was perfect! I also had a glass of lovely red wine that paired nicely with the pasta. I have no complaints and will definitely be back soon!! read more

I used to loveee this place and it has sadly gone downhill. The food is hit and miss. We started with the veggie pizza and it was pretty good as well as the complimentary bread. For dinner I got the chicken Caesar which was good and a side of the risotto which was so bland and not the right consistency. The people who got the short rib gnocchi enjoyed their meals but the rest did not (we had a carbonara, short rib risotto, and the shrimp). Our service was also not great, the waitress was rushing us and got upset when we tilted the umbrella so we weren't blinded by the sun. The manager was even rude moving the umbrella back and shutting the patio down and trying to move us inside, when the place was open for another hour after we left. The patio is nice and a pretty spot, so many grab and app and a drink, but don't waste your time on a full meal here. There are so many better options in Dublin, check out one of those read more

I've eaten at Mezzo twice, both times food was just ok. Each time I thought it was a Mediterranean restaurant based on the name but it is not - it is Italian. Inside the restaurant has got that old people Italian restaurant vibe. Ate upstairs once and it had a gross fishy smell in the air. Second time dined in outdoor patio which was lovely ambiance. Beverages are fine, but the food doesn't deliver on the taste and experience of delicious Italian food you'd expect as described on the menu. Arancini is good starter. The Eggplant Parmesan is not good at all - the way I make it at home runs circles around this one for taste, texture. While there are some vegetarian options, the restaurant focuses more on the meat-side. If the food weren't so expensive, I might be more generous with the review - but no, everything is massively overpriced - for the pleasure of eating in the heart of downtown Dublin perhaps? This place is so charming and cute in old Dublin along with an amazing HH!! I have met many friends here after work to split a $12 bottle of wine (during HH in/ at the bar) along with a super light and yummy flatbread type pizza. They have about 4 different options and can choose from and even substitute gluten free crust if need be!! Yay! I have had most of all their HH menu and everything is shareable and good. Came here for a date night during their Friday happy hour. We walked in and the place was packed! I would suggest making a reservation. The host did a great job trying to squeeze us in and get us seats at the bar. We did specifically come for happy hour so took full advantage of that. That in itself deserves 5 stars. It was national pizza day so we couldn't help but order both the pepperoni pizza and sausage and peppers pizza. We also got on of each of their apps. Lastly we ordered one bottle of red and one bottle of white wine. After all it was $12 happy hours bottles of wine! Everything was excellent! Our favorite was the sausage and pepper pizza. Though I also loved the truffle fries, it's usually not my thing, but these were great. The service was kind and attentive. This restaurant was really nice and great for everyone. I loved the ambience of the restaurant and enjoyed the music they were playing. I have went a couple times now for someone's birthday and another event I was invited to. It has an entire vegan and gluten free menu which is amazing and usually not offered by similar places like this. I am vegan, my sister is gluten free and other family members don't have any dietary restrictions so this was awesome for us to all get food we wanted. I tried the vegan garlic bread appetizer and it was delicious. I also had the vegan pasta bolognese and it was incredible and completely exceeded my expectations. I also had the vegan apple cake dessert which was also so tasty. On a different day I tried the vegan pizza. The vegan pizza definitely was not my favorite, it tasted dry and I just did not love it so I would not get that again but what I love about this restaurant is they have so many options on their vegan menu I can choose from a selection of options. I would definitely go here again and definitely recommend it especially if your group has different dietary restrictions. I also asked my sister what she thought and she loved the gluten free menu, and the rest of my family highly enjoyed their meals as well when we went. Also, I will say it is a nice restaurant so it was a bit pricey but I felt it was reasonable for the amount of food we were served and there are different options on the menu that are more affordable than others. I'm originally from Columbus and the Italian food here is second to none. Mezzo did not disappoint! I had the chicken Mezzo with rigatoni rather than the spaghetti. I was by myself but the service was as good as I've had. Mezzo is a nice little restaurant on the corner in the middle of Dublin - it has a Cheers vibe which is nice. This is a local favorite that we always insist on bringing out of town guests who come to visit. The inside is great, but when it is nice enough to sit on the patio it is such a treat. The inside is nicely decorated and there is plenty of bar space as well. They offer a nice wine selection and their cocktails are high quality, the espresso martini was delicious. I made reservations for my husband's birthday and we were so excited to see a charcuterie board on the menu but when it arrived we were shocked to find that this was it. The board cost $25 and this is all that was on it. I don't know if this is all they had but still wanted to sell it or if more things didn't make it on to the plate but we were shocked. $25 for 4 pieces of cheese, probably an 1/8th of an apple, 7 grapes. Celebrated a friend's birthday here. Our server Jocelyn was great. Super friendly had great input in helping us choose some items.  Appetizers- truffle bread, delicious and calamari, good could've been fried harder but the sauce and accompaniments were good! Drinks- 1 friend had the honey spiced old fashioned and the other had the bourbon drink. I had the holiday margarita  (essentially a cranberry marg). Sampled them All & they were great! Dinner- 2 Shrimp scampi risotto, they said it was okay about 3/5. One said the Arugula was overpowering and the other said cabbage threw off flavor. I had Gnocchi which was soooo good.  We also tried a side of potatoes and sourdough bread and butter. My husband and I were looking for something new and Mezzo did not disappoint!! We made a reservation. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing with a certain style and warm. We sat in the bar area at a high top table and the place was busy. Our server was efficient, quick, and very nice! We didn't have to wait for anything. We split a Caesar salad and asparagus which were both very good. I had the veal Marsala and my husband had the pappardelle bolognese both excellent. Everything was perfectly made. We ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza for delivery, and I'm positive it was a frozen pizza. And barely cooked, it cold when we got it. The menu picture looks delicious, possibly it was a picture of a real handmade pizza. We have been trying out pizzas for delivery in Columbus, and this was hands down the worst. Small, dry crust was absolutely awful, really like cardboard and no taste whatsoever. Sauce and pepperoni and sausage with peppers were okay, got it to a 2-star rating but just barely. I visited Mezzo for a group event. Maybe around two and a half dozen people or so. Also a bigger multi table group. These are folks some of whom I haven't had opportunities to break bread with in person for over two years. A special night for us after being separated for a hard couple of pandemic years. This is a restaurant that has a pretty good reputation for being a memorable dining experience, but I had never visited, so I was eager to check it out. Plenty of free parking in a surface lot and there is also parking in a garage at the public library nearby. Convenient. On entry I noticed a large comfortable bar area on the first floor. But our private group event was on the second floor so I immediately headed that direction up a wide staircase. At the second floor level is an open plan kitchen which made the line & prep area very visible. Transparency being what it is, this is a bold move for a restaurant and puts everything in front of the customer to see first hand - impressive. Individual tables were on this floor, but I continued to head toward the private dining room where our group was situated. Lots of wood accents abound throughout this well appointed dining space. It would probably be good for a rehearsal dinner, birthday, anniversary, or other parties. But tonight, the occasion was our group of civic minded people who are Freemasons. When we meet, we eat, and we try to make food memorable when we can - bonding through the method of dining together on social occasions has been a staple of our organization for hundreds of years. The food was well prepared, textures, flavors and aromas were wonderful - just enough to compliment each other without any one thing being overpowering. I've posted photos of the special multicourse menu for our event. Each person had the opportunity to select from a variety of dishes for each course. Which were delivered quickly & efficiently to the four eight person tables in our private dining area. Now, a word about that service. Just one word: EXCEPTIONAL! With some behind the scenes help, our entire party was skillfully handled by just one wait person! From taking the individual orders for each course, timely delivering all the food to all the correct positions at each table, taking and delivering individual drink orders at the cocktail hour prior to the dinner as well as during the dinner - all of it without a hitch! I've worked in the service industry, so I get what a challenge it can be with large parties. Our group was well served. A tremendously big thank you to Sierra for the care you extended to our group - you were friendly and had such a super attitude. I made reservations for my daughter and 3 friends for homecoming. I know the last group a server wants is a bunch of high school kids, but maybe give them a chance. Disappointed in how rushed they were by the server. She gave them about 90 seconds to decide on their order. My daughter got a salad and wanted an entree but she moved on to the next seat. Her date ordered soup and wanted an entree as well and she moved on again. They tried several times to get her to finish taking their full order without any luck. The food they got was good, just wasn't a lot of food. In a rush to clear the tables the busser threw away my daughter's corsage. The hostess dug it out of the trash but it had salad dressing on it and it was smashed pretty flat. Previous visits have been great but sending my daughter and friends here was a mistake.
